The tough pill to swallow for many is they do this by mixing up the races. Tgat is what he said. A unified racial group will have less conflict. Now maybe you understand why the border is wide open.
@mrbisshie
@mrbisshie 2 жыл бұрын
Indeed. Politicians and people in power would be terrified if all people, black, white, hispanic, asian, left wing, center, right wing, gay, straight, etc, all came together. It would cripple their power over us. Half their job is to make sure we're divided, the only thing they really care about is THEM making money, and keeping their power. No matter how much bs they tell you, they care about their power first, and will tell you any bs to keep it. Corporations and politicians don't care about me or you at all. They can and will sell you out.

Except that none of the custodial powers (in or out of prison) are forcing people to fight one another; tribal feuding has been a stain on our species since before there were prisons or governments, and continue regardless of who's in charge of them. And by the way, while I have no doubt the CO's don't want them to try it, the idea that the inmates could "join together and take over the prison" has no long term viability whatsoever; every time prisoners attempt that sort coup they either get beaten senseless by the guards, or get gassed and/or shot by state reinforcements, and the survivors are locked down by force. Like it or not, the state holds the power, and it is the holders of the reigns of power who define the parameters of the state. No civilian population has any chance of overwhelming their nation's military, and I can't think of a single actual-revolution in history that hasn't been utterly disastrous.

As a CO for three years, I can backup everything you said. 100% accurate on all accounts. I’ve personally never segregated offenders by race. That was left to the classification staff, but trust and believe me when I say this. Anybody that says custody staff control the prison is a fool. There were about 50 of us and 2000 offenders. Who really controls the prison. Lol.

Watching your videos for a few days now, and here's what I learned thus far. 1.) A lot more people get away with things like drugs, beatings, and rapes in prison than I imagined. I always imagined prison as a really controlled environment with less of that going on than it appears does. I mostly thought this because of the constant surveilance you'd be under in that environment. 2.) Guards seem to have an inconsistent level of discipline, and self-control. Which seems to prove the Stanford Prison Experiment correct.

If he was caught up with those things, he could have died. So while I'm sure it's of little comfort, you have to remember that 10 years in prison can just be a chapter in what could be a long and fruitful life. Hopefully he gets through the experience and is able to learn from it. All the best with your situation.

I regards to oldtimers, I was a NYS CO spend 16 weeks training. First assignment was the aged and handicaped unit night shift (1978). The inmates were allowed to hang out and watch TV, play cards 24/7. I learned more from those old timers then I did from any training the state gave me. Learned to treat people with respect, until they disrespect you. Great videos by the way. I worked max jails and you speak the truth. If you ever want a CO's point of view let me know.

I just discovered your channel 2 days ago and I have been binge watching. I'm amazed at your stories and experiences. I think it is incredible that you have taken such a negative part of your life and are using it for good and to help people. You seem like such a genuine good dude and I am so happy that you learned from your past and straightened your life out. I've heard stories my whole life because my father was unfortunately in prison in the 80s and served 5 years in the old Mansfield Prison. He is a great man, he had got busted for marijuana. I have heard horror stories from him and like you have said in past videos about how you can still hear screams, my dad says the same thing. He has said he can still hear the screams and cries of men getting shanked, raped or beaten. Anyway, I have nothing but love and respect for you Larry for what you're doing on this channel. God bless you Larry, stay safe and healthy. ✌

The prison burial story is not a myth. In England if you were hanged your body became property of the state and was buried within the prison walls. This was a common occurrence up until the 1950's. There are even documented stories of inmates having to walk past their freshly dug graves in the way to the gallows.

Question for you Mr. Lawton. In all your experiences in meeting and hearing other inmates stories, do you think there is a common connection as to why a majority are in prison in the first place? I know there are statistics and facts anyone can look up to get numbers, but I am curious as to what their stories are. Also it would be so awesome if you and Mike Rowe push for a skilled labor education program for inmates being released. American has a skilled labor problem in this country and people getting released need jobs. We desperately need more skilled labor. Oh and one more question, do you think felons should be allowed to vote? Sorry for long rant.

I never worried about getting raped dropping the soap. Only guys I heard of with those problems was guys with big debt. As for the gays, that was weird. There were these 'guys' running around acting feminine as well as a few normal gay guys. The sagging pants thing is just stupid; most clothes were really worn and stretched to begin with. I didn't get into many issues myself. There were fights, but by not being in a gang and by minding my business I avoided most of it. Only kept a small circle of friends, avoided politics, etc. Despite not having a lot of time I did get along with the longtimers simply by not acting like a dumbass kid! Didn't carry shanks, mostly cause I worked all day with sharp tools. As for getting advice, I'd suggest taking time to watch before deciding who you will take advice from. Lots of guys want to give advice to a guy and look like the wise old-timer, but many are idiots. Again, had tons of old-timers as friends just cause I gravitated towards guys who read and were educated, even if it was self-education. Better conversation then just the recent sports games or bullshit.

It's funny how people come up with these myths but the golden rules I followed when I was locked up 4 yrs in pa. 1. Eyes forward if you don't see it you can't say anything about it.. 2. Stay to yourself don't get involved in things you don't have any business being involved in. 3.say your sorry your not being weak but being respectful. 4. Wait your turn don't cut in front of anyone. 4. Wipe the shitter off when doing anything by it I had a Muslim celly they would kneel on both knees and piss that way and flush constantly used to drive me nuts. Those are some of the best rules that I stood by and they worked only threw down once in 4 yrs two guys were testing me looking for a easy target for commissary and other stuff they would do things like bump into me and not say sorry or cut in front of me at chow couple of those incidents an old timer came up to me this was in the first 6 months anyway and told me you need to handle that before we handle you 👍 okay so couple days later we were going out to yard he bumped into me hard I sprang back and smashed him in the mouth knocked him out on the spot his buddy wasn't interested in any of that he disappeared I got maced and cuffed on my way to the shu. Couple of the older guys patted me on the back it was smooth sailing from there (Love your vids)
