Sorry, WatchMojo, but I have to disagree with this. Having MGS at #1 is fine but Tekken 3 and Crash 3 as honourable mentions? Nah. And what about Spyro 2 or 3? They were FAR better than the original! (although I'm with you on the Skylanders point) Also, it seems like some Nintendo freaks were in on this this list, considering Castlevania and Final Fantasy, two former Nintendo exclusives, are even on it, let alone that high. And finally, NO TOMB RAIDER?! THAT should've been in the top 3! Lara Croft pushed boundaries with being the first female action hero! (unless you count Samus, but you had to wait until the end of Metroid to figure THAT out) And the graphics were great. AND the tutorials got you into the game fantastically!

The first games set the benchmark for any future instalments, and while some are better than their sequels, in most cases the better games were the sequels. Joseph Gaster Agree although I had the chance to own both a N64 and then a PS1 I found CTR to be way funnier since the track´s design and race rythm was faster than the one of Mario Kart 64. Not to mention that playing either battle mode or cup/single track mode with 4 players was as funny as hell and OF COURSE the design of story mode as a kind of map was a big plus in favor of CTR over MK

CTR was the shit. I could link 50+ boosts all the way around that Mayan temple level on the demo because I was so addicted and compelled to force myself to be faster and crazier, then the game finally hit and I parlayed those skills to the rest of the tracks. It became an obsession during part of my teenage life. Man that game was fun...I don't think there was never a time where I wasn't just totally boosting and out of control around the track. It was always about finding that fine line between doing what it takes to never, ever lose boost while not wiping out from all the speed. It's like decades later and I still have the muscle memory to hit perfect boosts every time lol.

Syphon Filter 2 was amazing because of the story and the multiplayer, i remember playing it very often with my friends, ace combat 3 could be played multiplayer too and it was fun. Duke nukem time too kill with cheats for all guns it was one of the best vs games and funny the holy handgranate was awesome, if you knew the maps you could throw them and they even followed the enemy it was very funny and still one of the best weapons ever. crash team racing still great game and the multiplyer , racing and battle you can play it all day. tony hawks 2 for me still one of the best soundtracks from a game and the game with the different mods like points, coloring stuff and others was a lot of fun. metal gear solid of course still a fan of mgs started with 1. FF7 best final fantasy ever the story was the best the soundtrack amazing the gameplay was awesome, what you could do in this game train an animal and race with it, fighting arena, game arena and the possibilitys with the materia made the game so mutch fun still better then the remake for me. The only thing that is better is the graphics the f.. up the story and the hole game is a lot more linear, In the original you could open mutch more stuff and the buildings where mutch higher, you could go in almost every building and explore and find stuff. In the new game you do always the the same things, meat the same persons over and over and you do almost the same missions find stuff or kill this monster, and the story sepiroth the greatest Boss enemy ever who was like an mistery and a killing macine at the same time is now a normal guy who likes to talk mutch, they fucked him up really bad. If you compare the first appearence in the original he wasn´t seen at all, he just killed everything in his way blood and bodys all over the place he was fearsome person, not like now. i hope they change the second part of ff 7 and make it almost like the original just with better graphics. i could name so mutch stuff and games, but i make it short now. 1. Final Fantasy VII 2. Metal Gear Solid 3. Crash Bandicoot 3/ crash team racing if multiplayer 4. Tony Hawks 5.BLoody Roar 2 6. Silent Hill 7. Tekken 3 8. Medal of Honor (i think frontline was the name, don´t remember the original name it was the one where you could be a spy and the last mission was a v2 rocket mission ) 9. Syphon Filter 2 10. Final Fantasy 8 11. Ace Kombat 3 12. Duke Nukem time to kill 13. Legend of Dragoon was a great game but something was missing the story wasn´t that great and i did´t like the characters mutch only 3 or 4 where great the rest can´t remember them mutch. 14.Resident Evil 2 and 3 was nice but i liked some games more it was because of the shooting and the limited stuff you could pick up that this game was never my top 10 15.Rolloercage was great but was a lot of the same thing and the soundtrack wasn´t that good what i think is important in race games.

Tomb Raider? Crash Bandicoot? Parasite Eve? Odd World: Abe's Odyssey/Exodus? Medievil? Worms? Tekken? Ridge Racer? Dino Crisis? FVIII and FFIX should have got honourable mentions at least. I agree about no.1 and I'm glad Spyro made the list but I don't think that this list represents most people's favourite PS1 games whatsoever and I think I could have done a better job of it, if you needed fillers you could have had thrown in some of the many great vs fighting games for the PS1, seriously, if you love vs fighter games, get yourself a PS1 and you'll find at least 50 enjoyable vs fighter games, there are sooooo many and 9/10 of them are great.

+Gijsbertus Laurens van de Vooren Not everyone remembers it, but Tomb Raider was actually Sega Saturn exlusive for quite some time, and it just feels better on Sega (though later released 3dfx patch for pc killed everything that moves with super-smooth hi-res graphics and steady framerate). As of the list - Tekken 3 should be close to the top, it basically made it sell (and against all odds devs managed to convert it from MUCH stronger hw). Also lacking some other games like Vagrant Story (I think the only PS1 game with 40/40 from Famitsu), FF9, Wipeout 2097 or 3, ISS Pro Evolution..
