Yes. The idea is that if in case someone else knows your dashcam's wifi password, even then they shouldn't be able to access the files unless they are sitting inside the car, its designed in such a way.

Unfortunately, there's still no option to view both the front and rear live feed together. We can only press the button to view the other camera feed. Hardwire kit you can surely buy for the parking surveillance feature, that will work.

I'm not really sure about that to be honest. As long as the device doesn't heat up causing unforeseen damage to the car during parking or sunny days, any such device should work just fine.

Absolutely. However, like any other device, only 1 device can pair with the dashcam at a time. If someone else wishes to connect to the dashcam then the other person would have to simply disconnect the wifi connection first.

Does the parking time lapse consumes more storage. Mine is a 128gigs card and does it overwrite visuals quickly?

No because it only merges pictures together. So the file size of even long duration videos converted by merging the pictures is quite low compared to the actual footage. Which means it won't overwrite. Are you using this dashcam? If yes then give this feature a try just for 1 night and see the results the next morning. Just to be on the safer side, take a backup of the memory card before you leave the car overnight.

Hi. In my opinion this dashcam is still the best in India. I'm still using it as a daily driver even though I have a few other dashcams stored at home. Hello, I use A500 Pro Plus and from what I tested it records an event in parking mode after 10-11 seconds. In how many seconds does the A800s start recording after it feels an event when the car is parked?

I just received an A800S and installed it today. Initially, it would not record both front and rear at the same time, only one OR the other. Checked for a firmware update and now it does record both at the same time, at least on medium size/quality, but the thing still says switching recording when I push the button to change views.

That's odd, both the cameras should have worked since the start. Check if there's any loose cable or something. And yeah, we need to still push the button to change the view. See if the quality of the videos on your laptop/pc are good or not, it may not appear good on the dashcam screen.

@@HarryWT Loose cable would not explain it since I was able to switch back and forth with the control button at will. I know it was initially only recording one or the other because of the video files. In any case, I've since removed and replaced the base unit twice to get at the SD slot as I mounted it possibly too close to the car's sensor module so the two cords have been reseated a couple times. First night drive with it, and at least one of the front cam videos is a little choppy. Full res, high compression.

Hi, it records continuously for as long as the dashcam is powered on. However, just for the sake of making it easy to extract the files to the pc or phone, the recorded files have been divided in 3, 2 and 1 minute options which also helps in keeping the file size limited. Hi. My pleasure. Yeah, its quite normal for the dashcam to get hot. Mine is hot all the time even in winters though not as much as compared to summers. The operating temperature of this model varies between -10℃ and 60℃. So as long as you drive around within that range the dashcam should be fine. There shouldn't be any problem.

The dashcam is in operation only if there is power. Since there's no hardwire kit then you may use a power bank, though I do not recommend doing so.

Nope, it doesn't. Been using it for a long time now I haven't come across a single such instance. Reason is that the camera records for a few seconds only if there's an impact or someone/something hits the car, etc. So unless the car is parked 24 * 7 on a busy street where people are definitely going to keep touching or hitting the car accidently even then there shouldn't be any issue.

Yes it doesn't drain the battery since the parking surveillance feature will capture footage for a few secongs only when there's an impact. I have kept my car idle for more than a week several times and faced no issues since barely anyone touched my car.

Yes you can. I recently disabled the emergency recording as the voice kept irritating me lol. You can set the recording time from 1 minute to 5 minutes if I remember correctly. You can refer my 1st video to check all of the settings.

@@myvideofolder3592 hi. It is there under configuration settings. Anyways I'll tell you here. Go to video settings and then recording duration. You can choose between 1, 2 or 3 minutes. And under emergency video select off. Then it'll save files in duration of wither 1,2 or 3 minutes and the voice won't bother anymore. Since it will record continuously it will capture everything even if there's an impact or not.

Ohh. That's odd. Maybe it's malfunctioning. While the dashcam is switched on, are you able to view the live feed from the rear camera? Try reconnecting the cable for the rear camera.

I have one of that, but now I'm considering an upgrade to the A810 version, which they say has 4G support besides AI features and better image quality (including HDR). I already have a X200 Omni too and I think it is fantastic, but it lacks a rear camera. I could never see the live feed of rear camera through the app, is that it?

Yes, we cannot see the live feed of the rear camera in the app which is quite a big miss. Since you already have both the A800S as well as the Omni, just like I have, why not use both of them in your car? I'm using the Omni as the front dashcam and the A800S as the rear dashcam. And the best part, apart from the 4k recording at the rear, is that I am now able to see both the live feeds on the app, even though not simultaneously.

Glad the video helped you! Yes, thanks to the company's firmware updates, we can now use up to a 256GB Micro SD memory card in our 70mai Dash Cam A800S dashcams. Just remember that this dashcam needs a high quality Micro SD card of U3 & Class 10 standard. So please make sure your Micro SD card has a U3 and Class 10 logo. (Source: www.70mai.com/faq/A800S/) However, I would still recommend going for 128 gb card for 2 reasons; I'm already using it and I haven't faced any issues yet & it is sufficient enough for capturing footage for a long duration of time. Using 256 GB will only put extra load on the dashcam. Having said that, choice is yours. Hi. Yeah I think it's possible if you use an external power source such as a power bank. But I wouldn't use that since it can heat up with all the car windows closed and could even eventually burst due to excessive heat. But that's just my opinion. I haven't read this anywhere else.

I believe CPL Filters are used to reduced reflections from oncoming cars. Honestly I've never felt the need of one. It should improve the quality though but I didn't feel the need. Maybe it would have been useful had I driven during night hours a lot which I don't.

I have the same problem. I want the feature so I don't want to turn it off. 70mai replaced unit when I had events every few minutes. The new cam did the same. Other than turning feature off, no idea, running 1.019ww software. Hoping for a software upgrade fix. Good luck!@@2crreturn

The 70mai dash cams do not have the option to turn off the screen details of speed, time and GPS coordinates. My insurance company has informed me of their policy, that; They will not accept any dash cam footage as evidence of an accident event, if these details have been turned off. I suspect the courts have the same policy. Those cameras that can turn these details off, are shooting useless footage, that cannot be used as evidence.
