While on a road trip across the US ( I am a civilian, non rider ) I pulled into a gas station that had about 20 one percenters parked in front. Their prospects were standing guard over the bikes and the patch wearers were inside shopping, etc. I knew from talking with riders at where I work, to park on the opposite end of the lot as the bikes and to skirt wide around them as I walked into the store. As I left to walk towards my car, one of the old timers who wore a patch gave me a nod of approval. What is your input on this ?

I'm going to start an MC club for Women over 60 years old. We will ride Italian scooters and our patch will be a slice of Pizza with the name " Vesparados ". Chapters will be able to choose their own rocker but " Ibuprofen " is already taken. You get a free walking frame when you get patched. Any F@cker that tries to take my patch is getting shanked with my knitting needles.

I appreciate the great tips. I have only been riding for 7 years and I have been invited to join this or that mc, but that’s never been my thing. IMHO You confirmed for me that I’m better off enjoying riding just for the sake of riding on my own without having to deal with all the drama.

We don't have any of those problems in Canada. If we do, I don't know about it. I just ride my bike, anywhere I want, and with whoever I want. Sometimes we are a big group, sometimes there's 2 of us. I wouldn't consider anything else a "free country".

@@1218cody I understand why people do it, but a club would really complicate my simple, come and go as I please easy going lifestyle. I'm a big believer for myself, the more friends u have, the more complicated things can be. I prefer a small circle. One of my good friends was in a very well known club about 30 years ago. he committed suicide, non club related reasons, relationship issues. He would tell me though as much as he loved his brothers in the club, club life can be draining. I met many members and they were always nice to me, but the lifestyle never intrigued me. As I said before, it seemed like a lot of work. You may be right as why only a small percentage do it. One of the guys gave me a 99%er patch as kind of a joke, but told me aside I was a good kid (i was 19) and don't get involved in this lifestyle. So I became a cop. Life is good.

Oh, and back when I was 17 there was no face book or social media. Clubs that do not put out thier business should stay off social media especially Face Book. I never have I never will. Yea, I grew up in the bike world. Ride, enjoy and take care of your family! For some it is not about money. It is taking care of eachother good and bad times. People you can count on, RESPECT, trust and value. The world is screwed enough. We bikers just want to enjoy with our own group of family and welcome others of all kind and ride! Outlaws well, like I said right, wrong indifferent. We all love to ride! See nothing, say nothing and respect the patch! Your cool with them and straight up, 95% of the time they are cool back. Buy them a drink and have fun! In every culture there is always good and bad, rational or not so much! You have a challenge talk to a high ranking officer and clear the air. It really depends. Is the "old street gang" vest a former rival of the 1%er or support club? If so, then yes, it could pose a problem, defunct or not. If it belongs to a group the 1% shut down, could also be a problem. If you have someone who is an insider, asking about it could save an ass-whoopin'.

Good information to know sir. A lot of what you said has to do with common sense. Think and ask first. If it's alright to do. Then do. Many people out there that start clubs think it's like the TV show that was FX Channel, Sons Of Anarchy. Or those other movies made in the 1950s through the 1970s. And it's not. Yes I know that their are clubs out there that are criminal organizations. Some of the members could be criminals. And some are not. But I know there are clubs out there that are law abiding citizens. And they are clean and sober. I don't ride yet. It's a money situation many times for me. But I've done my homework on motorcycles and the biker scene itself. Or the motorcycle enthusiast scene. Yes there are many people that ride alone. They don't want all the politics with clubs. But as you said. Motorcycle riding is a family thing. As it should be. Keep the chrome side up and the rubber side down. Stay safe, well, and healthy. Hopefully near the end of the this year. The pandemic will be over with. And the country comes together as one. Bless you.
