Currently reside in East Tennessee. My wife is originally from Orlando. Love Florida, but I love the Low Country even more. Fell in love with Beaufort about 7 years ago. It gets in your soul. Praying and hoping the good Lord leads us there one day....lol !!

Moved from Fl to HHI/Bluffton (primary residence) this summer; I agree with all of your points; however home insurance is becoming difficult everywhere along the coast including the Lowcountry- hard market right now in HHI so my insurance premium doubled this year. All worth it though! People are indeed so nice here in the Lowcountry…you forgot about the southern food SC offers :)

I am a property manager in Naples Fl. Correct, insurance has gone up 80 percent on average for HOA’’s COA’s. Only two major companies still writing policies. I am actualy moving to Beaufort County beginning February 1st., to try it out. Renting for a year then purchase.

Wholeheartedly agree with the comment regarding Florida being “flat”. As someone who enjoys cycling, I find this boring. Additionally,the amount of clear cutting being done here is daunting. Then again, I believe that’s happening everywhere. Any area’s in the low country the exception?

Haha yes I'd say Port St Lucie is SF. We lived in Ft Lauderdale and Boca Raton for 12 years total. Also traffic...it's all bad at times.

S.FL is terribly expensive, homeowners/auto insurance premiums are astronomical! S.FL people are rude and pretentious. No charm or welcome in peoples hearts.
