The writing is my favorite part of the show because the characters actions are unpredictable that you can’t help but figure out how it plays out
@LauRoman2 жыл бұрын
unpredictable is probably the wrong word to use. There are quite a few forshadowing moments, but none of them are in your face or "wink-wink, nudge-nudge". The characters' actions are not always predictable, but in such a way that they still fit the character exactly. it's kind of a fine line to toe, that makes it the best part of the show, and i, for could not imagine the characters doing a certain thing different even if i prior would have thought it contradicted their persona. I know it is not from the main show, but i could never have imagined that an engineer talking to family would be (one of if not) the tensest part of a season of Better Call Saul.

I started watching Breaking Bad in August of 2020, and finished in October that same year. It wasn’t a show I was expecting to like, but the characters, both despicable and of good intentions, were amazing - even Skylar during seasons 3 and 4. I hate that everything I watch now won't fill the Breaking Bad void that I've been living with for over 5 years now. Nothing has been able to draw me in since. Others shows are good & entertaining but they aren't even in the same league as Breaking Bad. This is peak television & will be hard to top. Still waiting for something better to come along.

You’re not alone. I’ve tried several shows that are supposedly on par with breaking bad; the sopranos, the wire, ozark etc. None even come remotely close to the raw, gritty feeling that breaking bad gives off. The cinematography, dialogue, characters, literally every single second is an absolute masterpiece, no words can explain how great this show is. It’s a blessing and curse because now I can’t watch anything without automatically comparing it to breaking bad and then just switching over to watch it again smdh

When you discuss chemistry among actors in roles, Bryan Cranston's & Aaron Paul's chemistry together in Breaking Bad is perhaps the greatest example of chemistry among actors that we have seen thus far in Television history. They sort of defined it in that show. Two incredible actors on they're own, obviously, but together it made a once for a once in generation sensational show. If students were to study & write essays on the dynamics of Walt & Jesse's there'd be so many angles you'd could almost design a curriculum around it. Perhaps someday there will be. Aside from their chemistry, every other element of the show was riveting, and that's an understatement. The writing, the cinematography, the unique setting in ABQ (not the usual Cali, NYC, Chicago etc.). The entire cast, every part played was perfect. As good as Ford's casting of The Godfather or Scorsese's Goodfellas, both tall orders. The show was paced beautifully, it peaked fast & kept going until the final episode. There was no "plateau" like you often found in the show 24 (another great one for its time). Breaking Bad went for 5 seasons & never was there a dull or slow episode. The last to mention is Vince Gilligan's creation of the show, the idea & story. There was so much originality to it, such a believable, understandable & relatable story. There have been many great shows - Sons of Anarchy (probably 2nd to Breaking Bad, imop) Prison Break, 24, The Sopranos, The Wire, & too many to mention. I keep waiting for the next groundbreaking show, but I feel like we saw the last ones in the 2010's. And that's sad. There are some shows, Ozark, for example, that come close, but fall short to standing up to what Breaking Bad & SOA & others offered. I think too much has changed in Hollywood, unfortunately, and we're left with quantity & filler as opposed to methodical & calculated quality. All of this to say, Breaking Bad was sort of Shakespearean for its time.

I watched Breaking Bad for the first time at the end of July 2020 (right after I turned 24) and I've already watched it all the way through at least 5 times because I'm an insane person and also the show is just so good!! I've never seen a show that was just all around so good, from the writing to the casting to the cinematography (all of the shots are framed so well, like how I'd compose an illustration) and it's a blast to catch lil details I think my experience watching it wasn't the like... typical one, my opinion of Walt deteriorated much more quickly than most peoples it seems, I kinda hated him by episode 5 and it just got so much worse (in the best way character writing wise) I also really started sympathizing with Jesse pretty quickly, strengthened by being the same age as him, but also with him being very accurately portrayed as clearly having some undiagnosed mental issues that everyone just passed off as him being difficult or lazy and gave him so little support, the evidence is there the more u examine it and if you're familiar with that experience yourself, I mean Jesse made some bad choices but I firmly believe if he had more support and understanding from say, his parents, (I hate them so much) he wouldn't have quite ended up where he did

Speaking of the series finale. Using Badfinger's "Baby Blue" was perfect. I'm convinced to re-watch Breaking Bad!

Surprised we didn't get a mention of El Camino. We didn't need that movie, but I'm sure glad we have it.

While I love the show and seasons 2 and 5 were probably the best seasons of televisions of those years, I have to admit that I think the finale kind of soured my view on the show over time. I honestly find Better Call Saul to be a better show

Better call saul season 2 was probably the weakest season combined with breaking bad seasons as a whole

When Vince Gilligan pitched the show’s premise about a high school teacher cooking meth in an RV casting Bryan Cranston of Malcolm in the Middle as the lead. Networks: Are you f***ing nuts!? Gilligan: You wanna find out!?

I was literally just think about this last week. I'll take still video has a sign of the universe ☺. Will definitely rewatch it 🤍 PS: THE WRITING alongside the actors performances should be the should be the n°1 reason to rewatch BB or to watch any show for that matter. Idk why people often underestimate WRITING. Good WRITING is everything in a story, rather that be: a book, movie or tv series, writing is/should be EVERYTHING. Sometimes, It doesn't matter how good a actor performance is and how amazing the visual and directing is. If the writing is not good enough eventually the audience will stop supporting the tv series. A good, decent writing its a creator way of showing that he respects its audience intelligence, time and does not take us (the audience) for granted. And that's the main reason why anyone should watch, rewatch and recommend BB. After the writing aspect, of course its the outstanding actors performance. 🎬
