It's important to note that when BFA came out and they changed the Blood Elf Racial away from an interrupt, they purposefully placed a ton of dispellable mobs in the BFA dungeons just because they knew a ton of players were blood elves from Legion, and I guess they wanted to lessen the bad feeling of the nerf to some extent I guess

Don't forget raids as well. Horde had a MUCH easier time on prophet in uldir, since they just needed at least 3 blood elves, where alliance teams needed 2 priests (while also dropping a ton of mana on mass dispel)

Fun fact: Turtle WoW, a private, Classic + server, has implemented Plainsrunning *as well* as giving Tauren their Kodos. You do have to buy mount training to be able to use it (your toon is "scared to run too fast" otherwise) and do a short questline, but it's totally worth it. It really is a lot of fun to be running by somebody on their mount and /wave-ing at them! :D

I am one of those plainsrunning tauren in twow and im absolutely in love with it! You can even combine it with the the shaman water-walking ability and zoom around on water. I has a gradual acceleration when you activate the ability until you reach full speed and its honestly very well implemented. You are not allowed to use it in battlegrounds though since it would obviously be an unfair advantage however it is imo amazing for mob grinding and ressource farming since you dont have to remount every few seconds.

Kind of surprised not to see Fear Ward in this list. My memory of vanilla is that dwarf priests were considered obligatory for a lot of PVE content because of it.

Surprised not to see the OG Will of the Forsaken that not only broken fear/charm/sleep but also turned you undead for 5 seconds effectively making you immune to not only those spells but also polymorph as well, while making you vulnerable to turn undead. To say it's a shell of it's former self is an understatement lol.

The actual OG will of the forsaken was 20 seconds duration. That was beyond busted, undead rogue in PVP was auto lose for priest and warlocks. Also, Devouring Plague was Undead only afaik? Making them by far best shadow priest.

@@dmytryemery Devouring Plague was much different that it is today. It was a, if I recall correctly, 3 minute CD that did similar damage to SW:P and healed you for the same amount but it was an absolutely mana hog. Like most using it would combine it with Inner Focus to make it free because otherwise you wouldn't cast much else after casting it. So yeah not the same Devouring plague you are thinking.

I have fond memories of being a troll holy priest, but still specced into the stun from shadow magic in pvp, hex of weakness and the random stuns from Shadowguard was a real pain in the ass for melee sometimes :D

I would like to note, while you said Elune's grace (TBC version) gave you dodge which does NOT work while casting or from behind or ranged attacks at all, it was broken because it just made attacks strait up miss which meant even while casting it worked. The broken part of it is that interupts could just miss while using it where if it was just dodge chance it would not affect interupts

Honestly Id kinda like if instead of a mount up cast it took some time to get max speed similar to the old one, but then it would end with slightly more than normal mount speed. And additionally I wish worgen had an instant cast instead of cast time

God, I miss old Arcane Torrent. It was such a nice cooldown. Don't get me wrong, new Arcane Torrent is great also, but I will never forget being able to silence mobs whenever it's needed. I particularly miss it for some Mythic+ dungeons. Looking at you Darkheart.

Just a bit of a correction here: The Draenei aura were two different versions, depending on the class you played. The physical focused classes (warrior, paladin and hunter) had Heroic Presence, giving 1% physical hit chance and the caster focused classes (priest, mage and shaman) had Inspiring Presence, giving 1% spell hit chance.

Mana tap / Arcane torrent were especially great for tanks. Mana tap was good for even better chain pulling for when you ran out of abilities, while arcane torrent was great for grouping up mobs even tighter since casters would be brought closer in. Also NE stealth should be on this list. Adds a lot of interesting dynamics to the game when random classes could stealth, even if they had to remain stationary

1:20 Plainsrunning is also part of the reason why the Kodos mount where launch unfinished, and in Vanilla Classic they have no animation when you hit spacebar while standing still or even sound when running, also they get stuck in doorways and other places where any of the other mounts can pass through with no problem.

it was aleays just hit. In TBC, if you played a spellcasting class, this racial was called Inspiring Presence, instead of Heroic, and just gave spell hit. Whrn wotlk came out, the inspiring one was removed, and then they merged the racials, so they gave both hits percentage.

I'm still salty about the troll racial that was 5% increase damage to beasts or something like that. Rarely used, but was kind of cool. Then Throne of Thunder came out, a bunch of people started running trolls since there were like 4 beast bosses (I can think of 3, the second boss, the turtle, and Ji-Kun) and so it got hit with the nerf hammer and was made TOTALLY USELESS by having it now give 20% exp for every beast killed... wow.... really comes in handy with my capped troll shaman character, thanks blizz.

The Vanilla human priest Feedback spell was very funky : it was a weapon enchant that would proc a mana burn on melee hits, most likely a remnant of early class designs that had the priest with a melee component. I still had fun with it in conjunction with the Hand of Edward the Odd, trying to proc instant cast Greater Heals.

* tauren, worgen, pandaren and pretty much all "x-en" races in WoW plural for is the same word as singular, so not taurens for example. Notably, this also applies to Draenei.

I wish they would add in helpful raid/party buffs for other classes again instead of just letting everyone have a lust mechanic. I miss being able to give my party members a buff with my blood presence as a DK. DKs are meant to be the Antipaladin, but anti doesn't necessarily mean different, it could mean similar but opposing. Dks having some pally like buff abilities would make me feel better and more wanted than just as a AMZ user.

Arcane Torrent is still pretty good for blood elf paladins in retail. It gives +1 holy power also. I’ve used it a ton in PvP when im holy power starved because all my generators are on cooldown.

It's good in PvP. Mana wise, as a healer you can gain like 9%-12% mana over the course of a fight, which is over 25k mana or 3 big spells, 7 riptides and so on It ain't useless as mana Regen, especially in high end content where you really starve mana during heavy damage phases. Over a 8min fight, that's 9% mana The effect of absorbing an effect is also hella good. Many mobs have buffs, in PvP of course can dispel barriers or remove rallying buffs in some dungeons. Soothing effects tend to be single target

As a BELF priest in the TBC arena I loved using arcane torrent. Paladins drove me nuts in classic PvP so TBC felt like sweet revenge. Arcane Torrent and Mass Dispell for the bubble allowed me to just eat paladins alive.

Nope, M+ had nothing to do with the change. It was simply PvP. Alliance bitched too much about it. It finally got nerfed. The original patch notes announcements even said it was because PvP, which made non PvPer's even madder.

i miss when the choosing had consequences, for example if you chose to play horde you cannot play the mission from the alliance (gilenas for example) or if you were alliance you cannot participate on horde plot etc, the same for races if you chose to play as a race only for the look good for you, but deal that maybe that race is the best for the look but not for the performance of the class everything is so meaningless now
