I also have dwarf umbrella sedge poking out of my fish tank and I really like how the floating plants gather around its stems. It makes the water surface look pretty and the upper column fish like to hang out under the leaves.

Not me here just wondering what are those baskets you're using?! With 2inch hooks off the sides. Nice. The ones I am finding online are tiny and only for rimless aquariums. Not great for use in my case. For now, big filter sponge with holes & suction cups is all I can use. Sometimes a bamboo skewer for extra support. I do hear floral wire also works. Need a better method now that I am adding lots of big plants outside my many aquariums.

@plantlifeproject Жыл бұрын
I have not done this experiment yet but I have thought about it. My concern is that they would need high humidity, but a covered tank half full of water and emersed aquarium plants may solve the issue

Another good plant to use are mangroves! They can grow in freshwater and not limited to salt water. It'll need some pruning to keep it small and compact.

How much light will be coming through the window? Bright light for a few hours per day, dim light all day, facing east or west, etc. Pothos, lucky bamboo, peace lily, philodendrons, maybe spider plant, parlor palm all do pretty well with low light. Vining plants have the advantage of growing toward the light in order to get the most they can.

It's directly under my led lights and directly over the heater, in front of my outtake. I put it in October 12th. It's been sprouting new leaves. Tiny ones, and the stock hasn't gone soft. If you put an antherium in water, doesn't it get root rot? I love watching your videos because I find them interesting, but I've never put them in an aquarium but I have put them in semihydroponics and the antherium always dies from root rot.
@plantlifeproject3 жыл бұрын
My experience with many houseplants has been that when you put them in the water, the roots begin to die but new roots will replace them. I have not had issues with anthurium dying, I do grow mine with roots free in the water, not covered with gravel or other substrate. Now , I have tried growing certain plants that I’ve seen other people have success with, like spider plant, and the whole plant just rots and dies. So sometimes results can vary from person to person.
