I seem to go missing if I try to post a comment on my phone. I'm in Japan (been here for months) and I think something is getting lost in translation. I didn't pack an axe for the trip. Good list Mark. I did send a message in on my phone but I'm sure it's been hijacked, so I'm posting again. I'm sure Don Henley could benefit from AI if it was released in a version he could plug into his ear. OK. I asked AI (ChatGPT: there are other flavors) for the 10 best rock riffs of all time and this is what it gave me; 1. Smoke on the Water 2.Sunshine of your Love 3. Satisfaction 4. Whole Lotta Love 5. Day Tripper 6. Sweet Child o' Mine 7. Back in Black 8. Purple Haze 9. Enter Sandman 10. Iron Man. AI responds to the way the wording of your query is arranged. It's easy to re-arrange the same query, with the same words in a different order, and get a different result. I used it to generate lyrics for 3 songs and it did an OK job, from the search criteria I entered. Clearly, if you want less mechanical sounding lyrics, you have to enter more clues. I entered a few clues for lyrics for a river in the Australian outback, then increased the number of clues twice and got better lyrics each time. There was no add music function on the AI tool, else I would have tried that out too, to see if it can compose. I'm hanging out on the little but very pretty island of Iki, off the coast of Nagasaki, and it's about time to get off the beach and get me to the Saki Bar. Beaches here are as good as Australia. Very few people, no traffic, and for the seasoned lecher, well...use your imagination! Sayonara.

@8MinuteAxe Жыл бұрын
Hey Mark. Thanks so much for checking out the video. Ferry Cross the Mersey is a 6-string acoustic and a Ukulele. He pretends to play the Ric that he famously butchered, in the movie and on top of the pops. It's some of the worst fake playing ever. It's still floating around somewhere. He admitted that he wasn't thinking at all when he did it. The 12 string solo in It's Gonna Be Alright is probably that guitar although some believe that he used John's 325-12. There are so many conflicting stories but one thing is for sure. We will never get the real story on anything regarding Zep. They can't agree on anything. LOL. Again, I really appreciate your time and comment. Take care and be well. Mark

Great question. Gpt 4 0 with the temp all the way up. I don't mess with the other settings. I'm really just getting acclimated with generative a I. I'm sure my answers would have been more creative and less predictable. If I had more experience and use more qualifiers. Which do you prefer? Bard tends to have the same predictable patterns. MS and Apple are rolling out so the ante should be raised. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I really appreciate it.

Several months ago when ChatGPT first was accessible I asked it a whole bunch of questions and posed it a logic question that any normal human could figure out. It failed miserably and all it could respond to the logic question was to ask me to give it the answer. 😢 although I don't think it realised it was actually doing that. 😢😢 Eventually, I told ChatGPT that I considered it to be the biggest confidence trick the software industry had played on the public since IBM introduced OS/2. It replied " I'm sorry you feel that way" A typical wussy West Coast response. I figure that AI is only being worshipped because the educational level of the media is so low as to not be able to tell intelligence from stupidity. I do enjoy your videos though.
@8MinuteAxe Жыл бұрын
I used GPT 4.0 with the temp all the way up. I took a short class on generative A.I. but I didn't use any kind of prompt strategy for this. Besides, what's going to be the result. A.I doesn't have tendencies or predilections. It's all algorhimic. Sometimes anomalies present themselves but that's probably how the algo on that one works. GPT 4.0 is a vast improvement over 3.0 and 3.5. Like you said, it's very predictable but it does have a lot of good uses with things that are repetitive or organizational in nature. I have used it to help me organize my time better. There certainly weren't any revelations but then I wasn't expecting one nor would I call it that even if it were helpful. LOL. Thanks so much for checking out the video. Take care and have a great evening. Mark

No Hendrix? Come on. No Buddy Holly? Jailhouse Rock. Wake Up Little Suzy. Money for Nothing. I don't fault the riffs you played, Mark. You played them well, and several would be on my list of the greatest, too. AI simply goes through classic rock stations and picks the ones played most often. It does not think for itself. Certainly, it has uses in science and technology, but not popular culture. Leave human behavior to humans!
@gdkopinionator4356 Жыл бұрын
AI, at its core is just like any other piece of software -> garbage in = garbage out. These large language models are quite useful, but one needs to understand that they are entirely dependent upon the information provided to them. They can only work with what is on the internet. That may seem like a lot, but it is only a tiny fraction of human experience. What AI does is to infer what something might look like, based upon historical data, and user requests. When Sonny Rollins improvises (though, he doesn't anymore because of his age), he reacts to all of the things around him, as well as all of the things he has experienced in the past. If he broke his little toe that morning, it MIGHT have an effect on what he plays tonight. Those things, little incidents where we have never developed equations that predict their occurrences are not calculated, and cannot be included in whatever a generative AI creates. "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" would never have been written if Trevor Rabin didn't need to run to the bathroom! AI will produce a stream of pseudo-creative reruns.
