my favorite restrain is by far the mack rides lap bar over shoulders restrain. I love them because you feel safe and exposed at the same time. They are really comfortable and they are great for a ride with nice hang time(which i am a huge fan of).

Intamin T bars are my personal favorite. I'm 6' 2" and the restraints on millennium force (between the legs) are far more comfortable and secure than on superman ride of steel at SF NE (around the legs).

I like it too. You feel safe and secure, even in wild rides, but so comfortable at the same time. Same imo with the lap bars they have on coasters from Maurer rides and Gerstlauer. So happy we only have lap bars on the roller coasters in the nearest park.

vest restraints are my favourite style of restraint. i am terrified of heights and i dont like the feeling of sliding forward out of my seat for the drop and/or near vertical elements. but the vest restraint holds me still and i feel secure and safe with them, so they are my favourite style of restraint

I've never been to Knobels, but the seats/lapbar on Phantom honestly made that ride so much more enjoyable. Also a shout out to just a seatbelt on Jack Rabbit at the same park.

Arrow OTSR: As someone who is not tall, they are perfectly fine for me. I do hold onto the restraint & lean my head forward, in order to prevent head/neck banging. With you at 6'3", that's very tall by compared to most coaster riders. The mine train lap bars are fine for me. I finally get what you're saying about the B&M vest restraints on dive coasters. SheiKra had outstanding airtime on my rides in April, and I can see how the vests would prevent that. I just wonder if Valravn might have bad headbanging, since it does so much more than SheiKra. I did get some mild headbanging on Griffon. So I'm a little torn there. My current favorite restraint is Iron Rattler's (no surprise I'm sure). It doesn't come down more during the ride on me, and it's quite easy for me to get room & keep it. My 2nd favorite is the clamshells. I haven't ridden a coaster with buzz bars yet.

I used to be unnerved about the restraints on Jack Rabbit at Kennywood having a seat belt and the fixed bar that has no adjustment but it gives amazing airtime on the double dip. I also really enjoy those “T” bar restraints on TTD and Millennium Force

The worst restraints outright is Skyrush. I refuse to ride such an evil ride along with me hitting my foot on a tree once that made my foot unable to ride. I can’t comprehend why Intimin can make such a ride that people like.

I hate the hard Intamin on Rita at Alton Towers as I’m just the right height (5’3 1/2) for maximum head banging. The only rides I’ve been on that are more painful are Hero at Flamingo Land (a Zamperla Volare) and Infusion at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (a relocated SLC).

I hate vest’s on wing coasters. I only did Fēnix at Toveland so it’s possible that it’s different on others but on the drop, the airtimehill and the zero g roll there is just no airtime! On the airtimehill there is some but only in your legs but that doesn’t really counts.

My problem with the Intamin OTS restraints aren’t even the shoulder bars. It’s the bulky lap bar that crushes your thighs. I remember getting stuck on the Maverick brake run for 15 minutes after just get stapled. My legs were going numb

I slightly fractured my hip on Gold Striker. Those restraints are rock hard, and with the slightly rough ride and the restraints that come down super hard during the ride, even worse than sky rush to me, it was very painful. If they had restraints like on an RMC that would be much better imo.

You hit the truth at 3:01concerning vest restraints being most egregious on dive coasters. I had no problem with them on Maverick or Gatekeeper but Valravn sucked with them. So now my obvious question is this: What wing coasters do you like better than Gatekeeper?

I think my least favorite restraints I’ve ever experienced were the over the shoulder restraints on rougarou. Although, I only had a problem because I got thrusted forward mid-ride and my head kept bouncing between the restraint

Skyrush's restraints are the best. Back left wing seat is very forceful and basically on any part of the train, you get the same or greater amount of airtime as the buzzbar. Don't get me wrong. Hershey is my home park and Knoebels is the second, but intamin skyrush's restraints are as good as buzz bars.

I'm 6'3 and I actually think the Arrow over-the shoulder restraints are awesome for otsr's due to the fact my neck is above the restraint so I dont get any headbanging., I also don't seem to have issues with them tightening. Just my experience though.

Rmc lapbars SUCK. Im 6 4 amd at the end of 2 rides on twisted timbers, my shins were bruised and hurting. It doesn't completely ruin the experience it just takes a lot away from it. B and M's clamshell will always be my favorite.

I would not say the Phantom Revenge's are Morgan's. The ride still uses the old Steel Phantom trains with a custom shell from Morgan. They had to take the OTR's connection and make it work with a lap bar. This is why the bar is as free as it is, That seat belt does most of the work.

I have been on 2 Arrow coasters. Vortex at kings island and Tennessee tornado at Dollywood and I prefer Dollywood. Vortex one bangs my head around. I do like the ones on newer RMC coaster. As far as Sky rush good ride but the restraints are ok
