I love Luis in the original RE4 but in the 4 remake Capcom improved him 1000%,loved every minute he was in the screen and his death was way more sad atleast for me.

One death I think has hit me quite a bit was Krauser's death in Resident Evil 4's remake. While he still was a villain, kidnapped Ashley and set off the chain of events in RE4, he still had a tragic story to tell and was much more fleshed out than he was before. To me, his desire for power was a coping mechanism for the loss of his men during the mission in Operation Javier, and while he does state he didn't care for his men, I think he really did. So when I saw the moment, I watched as the real Krauser came back for one last moment to tell Leon to do what he had to do; not only telling him to kill him, but to finish his mission. Seeing Leon's reluctance to kill his mentor figure and the pain it must have brought to him to kill Krauser did make me feel bad for Leon and Krauser. This is only capped off when Krauser, for the first time, acknowledges Leon by name, as an equal, and seeing Leon's expression and attempt to hold back his sadness. The remake really did make you feel bad even for some of the villains.

True colors come out in the last moments before death. Krauser was proud of Leon. Felt bad about it all when he saw that it was for nothing. I think his time in the jungle really screwed him up :/ And he put Leon in the position of killing a friend.

Losing Ethan definitely hurts especially because if Chris had just told Ethan the plan i bet he would be alive and i love how his character ends in the dlc protecting his child

It might have even given him longevity if not technical immortality. I stil don't get how only Mia new that tough. People don't regrow limbs on Daily basis...

I know she's a "bad guy" but Donna's death hits me every time. As soon as Angie starts running, I'm in tears. She didn't want to hurt anyone, she was a pawn used by Miranda that just wanted to be alone with her doll friends. She even writes on the back of your family photo, "Take care of our little Rose" or something to the effect. 😢😢😢

Sort of. He’s with the BSAA but he’s leading his own separate squad known as Wolf Hound (think that name is right) in partnership with Blue Umbrella. Since his team is pretty much outside of the BSAA it was shocking to him to learn about BOWs being used in the fight.

I would have the same list except for one change. Kendo and his daughter would have been 1st. The reason is because Ethan has made the ultimate sacrifice to save his daughter and wife but Kendo had to do the worst nightmare of all parents: Killing his own child. I have children myself and when i play a video game where the hero is a father or a mother , I literally put myself in the hero's shoes. I was sad when Ethan died but it was the choice i would have done. After the scene of Kendo i had to stop playing cause i cried so much, my heart was broken. it's every parents worst nightmare like i said. Phew! lol I think i'm an emotional guy lollll Nice Video!

I wanna point out that for Kendo in the remake, we only hear one gunshot go off when he takes his daughter into the back room, most likely ending his daughters suffering. So we cant say that he actually kills himself as well if there was only one shot. Also. whether the side scenario with him is canon or not, I'm not sure, but he does end up escaping before he does kill himself.

Piers made the fatal mistake of being lead by Chris, I never bring anyone back alive, Redfield. Ethan was dirty by RE8/Village, and Luis is easily the best glow-up character from the remakes. Adding him into the Nemesis project and giving him some real backstory was great. Fun list.

To me it feels like most of the deaths centered around those dying around the veteran characters impacts the most especially those dying around Chris. He lost so many comrades and losing Piers hit the hardest even though we only ever saw him in 6. After so long all of it was slowly breaking Chris into a depressing slump yet he still kept on fighting bioterrorism.

I'd have to disagree with remake Annette. The original was more sympathetic, and showed way more concern for Sherry than in the remake. But I'm glad to see Piers and Ethan get some deserved respect. In spite of RE8 having a rather rough narrative, the ending with Ethan was well done. I enjoyed him in both RE7 and RE8. And I liked Piers, same with RE6. He gave Chris the hard time he needed to get his spark back. Hopefully he'll get to retire one of these days.

My list was: 10. Mikhail (Remake): even when Jill didn’t trust him he still did what he could to save her and anyone on the train. Jill did not trust Umbrellas but she would only realize his true nature after he did what he could to save the people. 9. Marvin (Remake): One of the last RPD survivors he gave everything to Leon or Claire before his death. 8. Krauser (Remake) - Leon did not even want to fight him and after he lost, accepted defeat. 7. Piers Nivans - Knew he wouldn’t make it so he saved Chris. 6. Ethan Winters - Not my favorite character but sacrificed everything for his family until there was nothing left of him. The dad I wish I had. 5. Annette Birkin - Ended up paying the ultimate price at the very end only showing Sherry her love then. 4. Jack Baker - Did not even have control of his life when he scared and tried to murder you. The truth is revealed in the personification. You have to fight him the most out of anyone in the game. You don’t get a sense until then. 3. Robert Kendo - Sacrificed everything and did not even get a happy ending. 2. Luis Serra(Remake) - After you free yourself from the Plaga, Leon admits it was Luis who saved him and Ashley. You also see a photo of him on the desk. 1. Steve Burnside - Ok he was very annoying but I had a childhood as difficult as him so knowing he didn’t make it was awful. Let’s not forget that his death made me grateful my parents didn’t do anything like that even if what they did was just awful.

I may not agree with all the list, but I guess you're totally right with Ethan. As you've said, he's the main characters for two games, and a simple casual fella trying to save his family, instead of a hi militar well trained (or a sister well trained, and even a rookie cop well trained). We had Piers too which is half a main character, but Ethan is like us and is there for two full games, not a quarter of one.

I’m surprised no one has even mentioned Jack baker Yes we see him primarily as an antagonist for the majority of re7, however, he and his family were innocent victims of Evelyn and just wanted the best for his family and never wanted to hurt or kill anyone While we don’t see this until after our final battle with him in the main game, we are forced to go head to head with him again in end of Zoe knowing what we learned in the main game Joe recognized his brother and was forced to kill him once and for all, which couldn’t have been easy for him

I have not played Village yet, though I have seen every other scene mentioned in this video. Debra and her sister both deserved to die which makes me unsympathetic towards them. Annette literally sat her infected daughter in a room while she worked on her own research. Annette cared more about her work addiction than her own daughter. She is also a bigot since Annette showed clear hostility towards Leon, but not Claire. Annette is responsible for the creation of the virus. Steve deserves a higher place on this list. The scene where he was forced to shoot his father which had become a zombie is one of the most memorable scenes in any Resident Evil I have played. Piers definitely deserves the top spot on this list.

@@NerdSpaceGames He was in Biohazard The Stage and Marhawa Desire and RE6 was his 3rd appearance. That's where you can see his signature AMR. His character was just built up more than Ethan's so losing him has more weight. All we know about Ethan is that he is a software engineer that gets caught up in the Dulvey incident. Then receives military training and the events of RE8 happens. I guess people don't really know/care about Piers' origins. I wish the stage play would have been a game that would have been so good.

Ill tell you what... I was salty af and sad af when I failed to save Rebecca my first playthrough of Resident Evil Remastered... That's probably the only death that actually got to me since being in that mansion the whole time by myself and Rebecca was like the only character you spend time with.

Ethan didn't really die though. Or to be more specific; he died in RE7, but continued to exist as one of the "molded", and then continued in an even lesser form and helped Rose in the DLC. The fact that for some dumbass reason Capcom didn't want us to see his face, made us even more disconnected with him. You can't give a guy a personality, a name, and his own lines of dialogue, and expect the players to connect with him by then now showing his face. His "death" was tragic, but far from deserving the number 1 spot. Number 1 for me is Luis. Nothing is more tragic than a man who wanted to atone for his past sins, and dies trying to do so, trying to change.

Extremely controversial opinion, but Chris should’ve died and not Piers. I’ve always found Chris extremely annoying and let’s be real here, does he really need to be in every single game he is in? Specifically 7, as this would’ve been a the perfect time for HUNK to finally get his own mini campaign, hell, the DLC name Not A Hero could technically refer to HUNK’s alignment being in the gray area.
