I'm glad someone finally called out how weirdly terrifying Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee is to transform. I got the Galactic Odyssey Lifeline version from my sister as something of a knowing gag gift (she kept Ratchet, naturally), and I was mostly frustrated by how surprisingly close to fun Lifeline is. I could forgive the backpack and the sweet car mode if it wasn't so difficult to cram the legs into position! I enjoy SS86 Arcee much more, especially because she got ankle pivots.

There’s a good technique that you can do so that the plastic doesn’t snap. Instead of prying the small little tabs, squeeze the actual chest near the two giant things near his head. That should make it so that you can easily move the chest plate away.3:22

As someone who loves SS86 Hot Rod, and _adores_ the Shattered Glass repaint, I totally get it when it comes to transforming him. My list of scary transformations isn't nearly as long as yours, but I'll throw out my own: - Hot Rod's big brother, Kingdom Rodimus, has a bit of a frustrating transformation: The upper torso has a tendency to turn into a pile of spaghetti (albeit, not as badly as some figures), and getting the back wheels out of his legs is a pain in the ass. - Gamer Edition Bumblebee always feels like I'm forcing plastic past plastic every time I flip him back and forth. I'm always worried that he's going to snap, and I'm thankful that Hasbro decided to represent the glowing parts of the WfC/FoC designs with paint rather than clear plastic, because I'm sure he would've shattered by now. - I clench every time I transform Legacy Knock Out. I'm very aware of the Jazz mold's issues with its clear plastic, so I try to be really careful with Knock Out to avoid that. I'm very glad I waited for the opaque version of Jazz. - I love Legacy Nova Prime, enough to drop £35 on the DNA kit to upgrade him, but oh man is it annoying to get him into and out of his combined truck mode. The pegs that the boots attach to the backpack with are hinged, and it's a nightmare getting them to tab in properly. Then going in reverse, the wings do _not_ like to let go of the sides of the cab, those tolerances are way too tight. Finally, I'm never sure if I'm putting the shoulder pads in the right way around, because they're just entirely white with no identifying marks for front or back. Love the figure, but he may become a robot-mode only guy once the upgrade kit is installed.

Huh, when I saw Magmatron on the list I figured it'd be because of the way the sword hilt piece never wants to plug in on his Landsaurus mode, that thing always takes FOREVER to attach and every time I manage it, it feels like it only happened through sheer luck. Cool figure but man that's easily one of the most annoying steps on any of my Transformers. A tip on the Earthrise Seekers if you weren't aware: if you hold one by the shoulder vents and squeeze them gently, it makes it much easier to open the chest without worrying about breaking the tabs holding it in place. I can't think of any Transformers I own that outright scare me to transform, but I guess the closest would be 01 Studio Cell. Awesome Unicron but it takes a ton of time and patience to convert, don't even try if you don't have at least half an hour to work at it. I guess you can pinch your fingers if you're not careful, too.

-Really try to pay attention to transitional shots. You have a start and an end, but it's those shots in the middle that will really make the animation look believable. -Sometimes especially with transformations it's easier to shoot it backwards. Start at the end and work your way back. I do it all the time going from vehicle to robot is usually way easier. -If the figure falls over and you're really far into a shot just change the camera angle and keep going.

Speaking of the classics seekers, the feet were bad on a lot of them, the only ones I didn't have at least one foot break off on were Classics Skywarp, Acid Storm, and the later release of Generations Thundercracker. Though I have two classics Skywarps, and both of them have broken nosecones, another point of failure, that I only had happen to the Skywarps and the Universe version of Starscream, who also suffered a broken foot. The Earthrise mold is vastly superior to the old Classics seeker mold, though I do agree about that chest panel being scary.

I think a Transformer that deserves at least some mention for its scary transformation is Movie Masterpiece Blackout, his waist armour is attached by a thin piece of rubber, something I do not understand for a £179.99 figure, what is worse is that dring the transformation you are supposed to twist it around to display a panel and if the figure is new it's going to be stiff and may snap. I've only seen one review ever mentioning this. Part of me is scared I've broken it, but there is not much I can do. I have two, both are oversized KOs of masterpiece Optimus Prime and Megatron. They look amazing in either mode, but they're so fiddly to transform with a million little flaps and I don't trust the plastic, so ultimately they stay in robot mode on the back of the shelf. I have the shattered glass Hot Rod/Rodimus and i do not transform the figure because im afraid to snap the connections at the exhaust pipes and he overall feels some what fragile so im afraid to do anything with the figures honestly

Sigh… SS86 Hot Rod. Both copies I’ve owned have had the hook tab on the pipes snap off. I love Hot Rod. I want to love that toy. I just don’t touch him anymore.

3:51 neither do I. I was trying to transform her yesterday. And her plastic is just not working as it should. Too soft and brittle. For vehicle mode.

@@TTMMH42 definitely. The clear plastic and rough nature makes it terrifying to transform

@@raptorprimal1077 I transformed him once to vehicle mode. And left it that way.
