Well, it was "sold" as a drama/romace. I mean how many people are gong to pay $8 to see a documentary on the Titanic. Probably not a lot of people. Yes I agree it was more about a love story than the actual sinking, but I think Cameraon figured out that people have done documentaries left and right about the Titanic, and that it would be more interesting to tell a first-person story, and add a bit of romance to make it interesting instead of something like "the daily life of X person on the titanic".

I read in the history of the NYC Jane Hotel that when it was a home for retired sea captains and related professions the following. It was the first place for US survivors of the Titantic. IDK if there are specific hauntings. However the hotel is suppose to be haunted. BTW the name of the hotel is named for the street its on Jane St. Its been a hotel for about a dozen years.

I remember hearing, (I could be wrong so I'm sorry) that the white star line people needed insurance money for something, so they purposely tried to sink the ship. Something that backed this theory was that tons of celebrities who were going to be on the ship didn't come, and made up excuses like, they were sick, but we're later seen clearly not sick, and roaming around town! Could they have possibly been tipped off? The thing that wraps this all up is that they actually got the insurance money! Wait, if the Titanic turned to avoid the iceberg, I wonder if the Titanic directly hit it, would it still sink? I'm not sure if the Titanic was an icebreaker though.

It was so dumb that they didn’t put enough lifeboats on the ship. Glad that it became a law afterwards for there to be enough boats for full capacity
