I just started hearing noises outside my house. Low rumbling, kind of a quiet squealing. It was consistent, not like a motor vehicle because the sound stayed in the same area. I took off my headphones and it promptly stopped but slowly started again when I put them back on. It's quiet now, I pulled the window blinds even more shut.

My mom told me a story from her childhood that involved banana trees, she said that at night spirits lurked in the trees, and if you looked and saw the feet (or the spirit itself i cannot remember) you would die the next day. Apparently it is true, a grandfather in their community had seen the feet and was found dead the next morning. My mom said she was scared to death, and that's why they had a buddy system at night and went straight home. Other times she said she and her friends had saw black figures smiling at them while they walked/go to the restroom area in the dark (you could only see the white teeth) and they would just bolt. These are some Vietnamese stories (Possible urban legends?)
