My great grandparents actually used to work for the Whipple Coal Company and had to use that building to purchase anything they needed using scrip. I've been to TALA several times & each time, things showed up in pictures that we couldn't see. My youngest went to Blennerhassett Island on a field trip & came back talking about the whistling in the bathroom, her teacher getting touched while in the bathroom & how scary the kitchen was. My oldest son went to the prison on a field trip & one of his friend was in a cell when the door refused to open.

I personally work there since i live in the local town. I work at an actor in the haunted house which is the old tuberculosis building. From personal experience. Ive seen and heard some creepy business. My hairs and costumes have been tugged and pulled and ive heard and felt footsteps. Its really messed up sometimes. But i love it. I keep going back. 6 years now

I was an actor for a haunted walk there this past October, and I can verify to anyone who is doubting that something is definitely wrong with the grounds. I live in Charles Town and am 10 minutes away from Harpers Ferry. I’ve heard a bunch about those ghosts in the town. The ghost tours are awesome!😎 For one of them, there was a story about one of John Brown’s partners who was thrown in a wild boar pen and was eaten alive and now his bloody remains of his ghost are roaming around. And John Brown was hung in Charles Town(where I live) at the court house which is like 5 minutes away from me. It’s a really small town and everyone knows my family. So I can literally do nothing or my mom will find out.😳 And our local community theater, the Old Opera House, is haunted with the owner. It’s a very historical town that was named after George Washington’s brother but keeps getting mistaken for “Charleston” instead of “Charles Town.”
