One of the most underrated swings of all time I think . I loved watching him hit as a young ball player . I was born in 90 so Griffey was my gold standard and I always loved his swing but man Carlos ended up being a close second

I think that trea turner and Harrison bader have such a beautiful swing (bader is sorta biased because I’m a cardinals fan and my favorite AL team are the Yankees but also my second favorite team of all time are the Yankees) but I do think he has a great swing

Agree Soto is dominant. However that swing is anything but smooth. My toddler has a very similar swing lol. No comparison lol just saying it’s a bit uncoordinated looking

I love that you made a video about the smoothest swings - you and I are the same breed of baseball fan. I've always appreciated mechanics over almost everything else, ever since I was a child. Saurez is a great call. He's super compact and efficient. He and Trout have a very similar swing, come to think of it. Though I'm a Red Sox fan, I disagree with you about JD Martinez. His finish looks kinda sloppy, how he kinda hangs onto the bat and flops his arm. I gotta say, I'm obsessed with Stanton's swing, even though it's not conventionally "smooth". How he appears to be charging his energy and then unleashing it full force on the ball is beautiful to me. You should do more of these mechanics analysis videos. But do lesser known players, most of the guys that you chose were elite hitters. There are a lot of lesser known guys with even more gorgeous swings than the ones in this video.

Appreciate it! I’m interested about your take on JD. What do you think about Castellanos, Kris Bryant and Arenado’s swings? To me those are pretty similar swings. I also love Stanton’s swing too lol I just couldn’t include him in this video because he’s so unique and not conventionally smooth. I’d love to hear the names of the lesser known guys you would’ve had on your list! There are indeed tons out there it was hard narrowing down to 10

@@bleacherboysmedia You're absolutely right. Castellanos, Kris Bryant and Arenado’s swings are similar to JDs, and I actually dislike all of them haha. In my mind, if you're gonna let go of the bat with one hand, you gotta do it in style. Vlad Jr does it in style (I know he was on your list). Another example, though not a current player, is Manny Ramirez. Most stylish one-handed swing from a righty that I've seen. Glad to hear you like Stanton's swing too haha. To me, he's like a mythical figure, with his raw power. There was one time David Ortiz was joking with him and said something like "You know you don't actually have to hit it that far? Just hit it barely over the fence and it still counts." For the record, I think your list is actually really good considering that it's only current players. As for the lesser known current guys: CJ Cron has a real badass righty swing. Franchy Cordero also has one of those towering lefty swings. Sean Murphy puts a charge into it. I agree with you on Kike having a super smooth swing. Also, though he isn't lesser known, Manny Machado has a lot of style. It'd be a cool to see you do a best swing video from 2000-present. There were soooo many unique and beautiful swings during that period. A few of my favorites are John Olerud, Russell Branyan, Jonny Gomes, and way more.

@@bleacherboysmedia The difference in the ending of the swing bewteen Cabrera and and J. Alvarez is massive, Cabrera holds the bat at the end just with his front arm, whereas the fron arm of alvarez kind of flexes back to his chest, I mean look how far are their end positions of their front hands. Do you think Cabrera powers the bat with his front arm and Alvarez with his back arm?

Honestly I think miggy should be #1, the way his swing looks so relaxed at all times yet can hit with deceiving power just shows his understanding of swing mechanics. Despite his age definitely attributing to his lest than stellar past few years I just can't think of a swing that is as easy on the eyes as miguel cabrera, it's like watching a flowing creek, relaxed.
