I'm surprised to hear that there wasn't a version of Dearly Beloved in Melody of Memories. When MoM's version the song came out I thought for sure that the reason it was so jazzy, faster paced, and different compared to the other versions was to make it a more enjoyable song to play a rhythm game to, but I guess not.

this is exactly my kind of content hahah. It was fun listening to which tracks you might have liked to see in the game, and I agree that MoM seemed like the prime suspect of all the entries for having post-release support and DLC. Shipmeister's Humoresque really deserves a spotlight with a full stepchart--it's one of my favs too. The point there at 9:20 about the lack of DB did seem like a bit of a missed opportunity--I would have liked the final playable stepchart in MoM to be the swing ver of MoM's DB, but I did appreciate its incorporation into the swing March Caprise during the credits

i would cancel the piano rearrangments and the disney sing-a-long songs gladly in excange of songs from the carribean (expecially the KH3 battle theme, so hype), the 100 acre woods and the anti-aqua boss theme... also some of the songs you mentioned here aren't bad choices either.

Well, Scala Ad Caelum is another decision that I would have made, it is incredible that I have not remembered until now, but if I had to search inside my heart and be honest with myself, I would say that Oscuritá di Xehanort was one of the Soundtracks that I most expected inside from MoM and I saw that he couldn't make it. I don't have the game, just the demo so I don't know what the distribution is like, if for every 20 normal songs there is 1 of Boss Fight, so "personally" I would have no problem putting it as a normal song if that meant it was there, especially Considering that for the scene, in case it was a song for Final Boss it would be interesting to see 3 vs 3 instead of the other 3 vs 1. Besides, I have a special affection for that soundtrack especially because before hearing it I always told myself "Boss songs sound good on their own but if you combine them they might not be so pleasant" but Oscuritá di Xehanort arrives and closes my mouth (especially the Young Xehanort part). It would have been nice. Very good video

However, I was wondering what your favorite version of dearly beloved is because you mentioned wanting to play Mom's but I doubt that's your favorite version to listen to. Personally I enjoy the one from kh1 simply because of the nostalgia it brings and also just how simple but powerful it feels.

My biggest disappointment in the track listing is the lack of "Master of Masters". Not only is that a sick-ass track that goes to some super weird, super cacophonous and free-jazzy places, but also...I mean, come on, its abbreviation is the same as this game's abbreviation.

@@RegularPat it's especially surprising to me, considering how much the game seemed to not only be a celebration of the series' music but also its characters, as well as essentially a bridge to the next phase of the franchise. This song as at least a stage you could synthesize (probably with Back Cover footage in the background) would be totally in line with that, especially considering how much the periphery stuff has been pushing MoM as the next big potentially antagonistic force.

Sorry.. I do really love the gummi ship levels in kh1 and kh2. I remember playing the gummi ship levels to go hollow bastion over and over and try to get all the unlockables in kh2. And yes, the Ariel music sections where also some of my favorites and would play them over and over and over again even after finish the game

Ok so most of these can easily be explained. The game is running on already existing assets. That's why the mobile games don't exist in this game, they don't have KH1-2 engine renders of their towns. The Pirates and Acre wood are not liscened to Disney exclusively, especially not the likeness of the pirates themselves. at the start of KH1-3 there's the copyright agreement terms before the menu, that includes products that they are purchasing Deep jungle, Acre wood, Pirates and even Nightmare before Christmas are on that list. Only one of those liscenses made it into the game.

Stranded beyond and Kairi 3, why? they are in the game back to back as part of the "final melody" level before the final boss, but they are very easy and theres no penalty for missing, and you never unlock them, so they aren't in the track list nor in the juke box. Especially jarring since there goes one of the only few kh3 songs with the existing final world background. Also on more a personal note, L Eminenza Oscura 2, in my opinion de DEFINITIVE version of ansem battle theme and jarryngly, the only of DDD "final bosses" theme missing.

I'm hoping KH4 will feature Kairi as the playable protagonist with Donald and Goofy serving as her partners just as they did with Sora. It's about time she graduated from damsel While Riku searches for Sora, Yen Sid instructs Kairi to visit different worlds and identify the new 7 hearts after Maleficent and Pete steal a Gummiphone and gives it to Pete's old friend Emil Eagle to see if the data inside will be any good to them. At the same time they also try to find info on the masked people (the lost Masters of course) they saw Xigbar with before they take the Black Box from him. In case Mleficent decides to go after the other princesses, Yen Sid orders Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Roxas, Xion, and Axel to guard Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Alice, Belle, and Jasmine respectively. Since it will be her first time traveling through the worlds, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy decide to go with her to watch her back. As for Mickey, he's tasked with following aleficent and Pete. This mission will serve as Kairi’s Mark of Mastery. Before she starts her journey, each character bestows Kairi a magic ability: Fire (Axel), Blizzard (Isa), Thunder (Roxas), Magnet (Xion), Earth or Gravity (Terra), Water (Aqua), Aero (Ventus), Cure (Namine), and Stop (Mickey). The worlds Kairi visits will be based on these movies and in the following order: Brave Frozen 2 Cinderella 3 The Little Mermaid 2 Pocahontas The Princess & The Frog Mulan 2 Moana Aladdin & The King Of Thieves Winnie The Pooh (2011) The worlds for Tangled the series and Snow White would also be visited but only in cutscenes. Radiant Garden and the Bug Blocks will return. Pocahontas, Tiana, Anna, Rapunzel, and Moana will be confirmed to be 5 of the new hearts. There will also be 6 summons: Olaf, Fairy Godmother, Maui, Genie, Mushu, and the 7 Dwarfs. During all this time, there will be cutscenes of Sora and Riku's time in Quadratum and after clearing all the Disney worlds, Kairi, Donald, and Goofy find their way there and join up with them for the final battles. Towards the end, everyone learns a startling truth. When the X-Blade was broken into 7 lights and 13 darknesses, not only did the 7 lights become the hearts for the 7 Princesses, but the 13 darknesses became the hearts for 13 of the most black hearted villains, the 13 Lords of Darkness. And all of them must be reunited to recreate the X-Blade. I also came up with 2 side games: First there is "KH: Mickey's Quest". This game takes place during the first. It will focus on what Mickey was doing while Goofy and Donald were traveling with Sora. The worlds Mickey visits are based on Gummi Bears, Leroy & Stitch, Bambi 2, Song of the South, The Wind In The Willows, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Darkwing Duck, and The Great Mouse Detective. The second is "KH: Bonds of Time" which will follow Roxas and Xion going on a special mission together. This will take place either before or after KH4. Yen Sid has the two of them go back in time to the days of the lost masters to learn more about them and their successors, 2 of whom they recognize as Ventus and Marluxia. Before they arrive in Daybreak Town, they travel to different times in various worlds. The worlds they visit are based on: Beauty & The Beast, The Sword In The Stone, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame 2 , Tarzan 2, Alice In Wonderland, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid 3, 101 Dalmations, and Ducktales The Movie: Treasure Of The Lost Lamp. I chose these movies so we can see their worlds done right with the new graphics and all and we can interact with the young version of Tarzan and Simba. We will also get to fight Gaston, Madam Mim, Cruella, and Merlock. Jiminy procures the aid of Bernard and Miss Bianca from "The Rescuers" to join Roxas and Xion to watch their backs and chronicle their journey on his behalf using the Gummi Phones. The gameplay for this game will be similar to Birth By Sleep only you don't have to create 3 games for 3 separate characters. Instead the player will be able to switch between Roxas and Xion during the journey and battles. Plus if one gets knocked out, the player will automatically be able to switch to the other and heal them when they can. Although both characters can be used, some abilities and techniques will be exclusive to each of them as they level up. However, if KH4 is going to once again have Sora as the playing character. I hope at least 9 to 10 of these movies will be featured as new worlds. 1. THE SWORD IN THE STONE 2. THE JUNGLE BOOK / 2 3. ROBIN HOOD 4. THE BLACK CAULDRON 5. THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE 6. Xehanort di oscurita. This is the piece that plays when you fight Xemnas, Ansem, and Young Xehanort in the Keyblade Graveyard near the end of KHIII. Dawg, I'm pretty miffed they don't have l'Eminenza d'Oscura I (the song from the first Ansem fight in DDD). Like I guess it was too similar to DIsmiss, but they have 3 different versions of the Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion theme so what gives?? Also more TWEWY stuff would've been sick. ALSO I wish it had more cutscene themes. Like there was no Org. XIII theme? So many cool tracks that were missed!

There's so, so many good boss themes missing, especially from DDD and BBS... Also, Darkness of the Unknown 2 is in the game, but not part 1 or 3?! It's so fucking weird.

Gonna be honest, though, I'm incredibly surprised that they didn't include more of the songs that were featured in prior rhythm minigames, like the Ice Cream one or KH2 Atlantica. As much as "Swim This Way" grates on me and as much as I'd rather not hear any rendition of "it's a small world", it just feels like a missed opportunity to pay tribute to the series' prior experiments in this game genre. I'm glad we at least got the KH2 version of "Part of Your World", and I don't think it makes the game actively worse that it's the only one of this bunch, but I'd have still loved more here.

I would have liked to have “Master, Tell Me The Truth” (boss battle music for Armor of Eraqus) from BBS but I think I get why it wasn’t included. Personally I believe that the reason why it wasn’t included was because it just sounds to similar to “Future Masters” which is already in the game. But I totally agree with “Edge of Existence” should have been in the game.

Just a small one for me because of personal significance was Dark Impetus, I know it is similar to l'impeto oscuro but I have had some fun times with friends while that theme was playing

This was a great video! I can't believe forze del male wasn't in the game. It's one of the best kh songs and plays during such an important fight.

The 13th Reflection from 2 Final Mix is one of my favorite battle themes (I prefer the original) and Disappeared (battle theme for Unknown from 1 Final Mix) are two I was very sad that got left out.

They didnt use the final xemnas' darkness of the unknown, they used armoured xemnas 2's darkness of the unknown What hurt me was the lack of remind boss remixes Imagine xigbars 13th dilemma or the redone l'eminenza oscuro or my personal musical crack, lord of the castle and enter the darkness' remixes

I feel you on the dearly beloved. That song is one of the most iconic of the series so I was so disappointed that it wasn't in there. The Pirates theme is just so cool, I just loved when I had to battle heartless/nobodies in that world just to listen to it. I noticed that Deep Jungle wasn't in there. it's not my favorite world but I still enjoyed the music. It's not a song, but why the hell wasn't Team Destiny (Sora, Riku and Kairi) an option?!

If it's any consolation I also liked KH3. I get why so many people disliked it, but man can some fans be toxic over differing opinions.

I personally think KH3 is excellent. Gameplay-wise, I think I had more fun with it than any other KH game. Only real problem I had was how they backloaded all the good story into the end instead of balancing it like KH2.

As much as I love MoM. I'm still very upset at them not including Dread of the Night (anti-black coat theme) and Scala ad Caelum battle theme. But regardless love the game and selections

One track that I felt was missing was Fear of The Unknown from BBS. It's my absolute favorite track, so I was very disappointed when it didn't make the cut

There were 5 songs I really wanted, 4 from Birth by Sleep and 1 from DDD. In no particular order: 1 Unbreakable Chains - Ven's final boss theme. Yes, it's just a slower, longer, and slightly less sinister-sounding version of Enter the Darkness, but I wanted it, nevertheless. I love the slow build-up here more than Vanitas' psycho strings at the start of EtD. 2 Unforgettable - that song that plays when you fight that one big boss in Radiant Garden with the whole trio. The violin gives me goosebumps. The song is literally called Unforgettable, HOW TF DID THEY FORGET IT. 3 Hunter of the Dark - the song that plays when you fight that insane thing in the Dark World at the end of the secret episode. Why did they exclude this? It's just such a good track, hooks you instantly and never lets go. Song made me feel like I was literally Aqua, trapped in that horrible place and facing certain death. 4 Dark Impetus - This was the first song that came to mind when I heard about Melody of Memory. I wanted to get wrecked by a rhythm game as badly as I got wrecked by the Mysterious Figure. And there's no excuse for this one being missing, imo. Xemnas gets both Darkness of the Unknown as well as his theme from DDD. For Young Xehanort, we just get his DDD theme which - I mean, it's also a good song, but Dark Impetus is so INTENSE and HARDCORE. GODDAMMIT SQUENIX PLEASE GIVE US THIS SONG AS DLC. 5 The Dread of Night - aka "Are you what's trapping him in that nightmare? 'Cause if you are... I'm what nightmares fear!" aka the first boss in DDD that actually wrecked me and usually gives me at least one game over on subsequent playthroughs. Honestly, I would have rather had this over The Eye of Darkness, which is super underwhelming as a "final" boss theme imo. Also, I agree with Forze del Male's exclusion as being very strange. It's such an iconic boss theme for the series imo. And I too am sad at KH3's treatment in this game. KH3 has my favorite soundtrack in the series, love that orchestral quality, the choir popping in to up the intensity... I was so pissed when I got to those worlds and saw they were all just dive tracks.
