What? None of the random rogue daggers made the list? I am shocked. Also all the priest artifacts should be on the list, not just 2 of them. The disc staff is basically a stronger Ashbringer. But I'd probably leave it off too since you already mentioned 2 of the others and its never a good idea to have too much items from 1 class on these kinds of lists.

Actually yeah, the Warblades of the Aldrachi are pretty powerful. Or at least, have a high potential for more power since they absorb the souls of slain enemys and grow more powerful with every soul it has absorbed

There's never really any love for rogues on this channel. I definitely wouldn't place any of the rogue artifacts in the top ten (would've added Apocalypse), but rogues just don't get proper attention here.

Aluneth is my favorite artifact weapon. It's got some funny lines it whispers every so often. Also, when you see the echo of Aegwynn at the end of Cathedral of eternal night. Aluneth will freak out at first thinking she is alive.

Apocalypse upon reading the lore, even with a whole planet full of peoples souls, doesn't do anything with its raw power. It was simply the weapon used by the dreadlords. The planets it killed would have most likely be killed with or without the weapon it was more about the dreadlords using the weapon.

Actually I honestly don't like playing godly classes lorewise. I play warrior. Nothing more satisfying than killing mages and warlocks with just your skills using a weapon. In a world where people summon demons, cast fireballs, cast meteors falling from a sky, a guy with just a stupid sword can kill you lol.

I was actually reading the WoW Wiki the other day about the old gods, and it states that some people believe that the "forgotten" Old God was much weaker than the other 4, so they took over his territory, killed him, and turned him into Xal'atath.

I was going to say exactly this. In terms of their lore presence and "legendary status" as weapons, Frostmourne and Ashbringer are at the top. However this is a list based on stated power in the lore, and I'm willing to admit that there are other artifacts that are probably more powerful. Hell, I might even say the Blood DK axe is more powerful than Frostmourne. And I don't give two shits about that axe, as far as the story is concerned.

While I agree that the aldrachi warglaives were very powerful , and much older, the fact that frostmourne was shattered and rebuilt doesn't weaken, but strengthens it. Remember that frostmourne is a runeblade and remaking runeblades strengthen them.

Great list and video, Doron. I think the only weapon that I would have included that wasn't present are the Fists of the Heavens. They contain the power of four of Al'Akir's djinn lieutenants, as well as a great portion of the Windlord's himself. They destroyed and buried an entire city when someone even TRIED to wield them. I know it's very stiff competition when it comes to the power of our artifacts, but imo the Fists should at least break the top 10.

The Demon Hunter tank weapon can be used for void magic and fire magic, They allowed one warrior to destroy an army of over a thousand demons without even a slight injury absorbing the power from every demon they killed, and then they absorbed power directly from Sargeras' blood when they were stabbed into him during a multiple day long duel.

I think you underrate the Demonology weapon, Thal'kiel's skull. We saw what Gul'dan's skull was able to be used for by Tichondrius/Illidan, and Thal'kiel was apparently the first and most powerful warlock on Argus, who even taught Archimonde. I think it should be somewhere on the list.

Strom'kar the Warbreaker is pretty sweet although it can't compete power-wise to some of these other ones. I mean, it was used by a Barbarian King to beat up an old god general, then when that general wakes up from his beating. The spirit of said barbarian king helps beat him up again.

Personally I would put Ulthalesh at #1. While it may not currently be the strongest, it's ability to empower itself by consuming souls gives it unlimited potential, so much so that it is stated that Sargerus himself has come to fear the scythe.

Bro the aldrachi warblades killed and absorbed endless amounts of demons and they were so powerful that it took sargeras himself to stop the general otherwise he would literally stop the entire demon invasion by himself. Another thing is that sargeras recognized the weapons and the generals strength so he wanted him to become his personal bodyguard.

Warlocks, typically, have been some of the strongest lore characters, anyway. I think only a handful of the strongest mages in the history of azeroth are stronger. So it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that they'd be able to wield the most powerful of the artifacts.

I think there's an inherent flaw to warlocks and that's the corrupting power they use. They're constantly emotional, one-goal oriented and they never really get peace. I wonder what constructivity they could display if they are given this new plateau of growth. An artifact made by a warlock is strong, but by default isn't ordered and stable, and usually only has destructive purposes, and yes, I've considered the Dark Portal. There is plenty potential in the world for there to be a stronger artifact. The dragon idol given to the druid in the comics was touched by fel and contained nature magic overlaid by fel energy. Fel/nature, what kind of word would describe that? Light and void magic nullify eachother chaotically, use something like nature magic as a buffer/binding mechanism, then you can tune the risk/reward using fel energy. A magical slot that can carry fel energy around. Send fel in a circle to dissipate the excess chaotic energy. Fel magic is actually just 'generic' magic, the interloping type of magic, except this one deals with life. What I've seen of it, it is invisible to the naked eye and its manifestations have a green hue. I don't know what the spark is, but apparently life can be 'burned' to produce a green flame. This green flame has 'fel energy' which can be directed to do work. You can power an infernal by giving it a supply of life-force to trickle into a fel furnace inside, whose flame excites its "nervous system" into work. I don't know what life-force is ingame. I don't think it is light nor order, so I don't think it comes from titans nor from naaru.

The Scythe of Elune has nothing to do with moonkins. It created the worgens so it should've went to feral druids.

Of course it has to do with moonkins it contains an absurd amount of lunar power strong enough to subdue nature itself. It's a balance weapon because they are the only ones capable of using the lunar power safely. It requires a great amount of skill and concentration. A feral druid can't use the staff's powers with energies he can barely understand mid-combat. The most skilled druids can weave moonfire and that's about it. Ferals can't reach that level of concentration a moonkin can, they transform into wild animals and become way more ferocious and wild in this form. A feral's skill is shown in their willpower to control themselves and their form's traits similar to a demon hunter.

@How many neps can a Nep nep if a Nep nep Nep No, it actually really doesn't. Or, well, it didn't use to. The Scythe of Elune was made of the Staff of Elune (an item that really doesn't have any lore at all besides its name) and a fang of Goldrinn, the Ancient of ferocity. Prior to Legion, it was known in the lore that it turned the Druids of the Pack (most likely wolf/worg form shapeshifters) into the worgen. Since then, it was used to summon the worgen into Azeroth and granted its wielder dominance over these summoned creatures, though said dominance would fail after a while for unknown reasons. The last tidbit of lore around the Scythe of Elune was the Dark Riders searching for it in Duskwood. With the worgen being pretty much the embodiment of fury and ferocity and the Scythe of Elune tied so strongly to them, it really would have made sense to give it to them. Worgen (and even Goldrinn himself) have been known to envy those who can control their beastly nature and pay them great respect. To have the feral druid master the Scythe and receive Goldrinn's boon would have been a perfect fit for the feral druid storyline. Ashamane, the patron of the actual feral druids' artifact weapon, was only introduced with Legion, and her backstory is nearly identical to Goldrinn's. So it's a bit puzzling to me that - if they're going to invent an entirely new weapon anyway - they did it for ferals and not for the balance druids.

Gorshalach, (the Dark Render) is the most powerful weapon in the universe. This massive greatsword was originally wielded by Sargeras while he was a member of the Titan Pantheon. When Sargeras fell to his madness, Gorshalach, being semi-sentient, sundered itself into two 'Shatterbound pieces' to prevent the fallen Titan from wielding it. One fragment was claimed by Sargeras and reforged into Gorribal, while the other was claimed by Aggramar and reforged into Taeshalach. If both fragments are ever possessed by a non-evil being, they can be combined to reform Gorshalach.

A few things that are lore related i think could've been in here to replace a few artifacts: Skull of gul'dan book of medivh atiesh, staff of the guardian the dragon soul you can also cheeze it by saying the helm of domination (lich king's crown) Those are just ones i could remember. Also, #8 isn't actually that powerful compared to frostmourne or the ashbringer. And i feel like those two should've been higher on the list. Especially frostmourne when you look at shear power.

Technically some of the weapon skins are alternate weapons entirely, Beastmaster Hunter artefact is actually a spark within a gun all the guns themselves are separate weapons so they must all be powerful weapons in there own right but due to game mechanics and the AP grind they aren't all seperate in terms of leveling.

I feel like the Vengeance DH weapon Aldrachi Warblades should be on this list, it was capable of wounding Sargeras (albeit minor but still a wound). They should be high up on this list, at the very least above the Fist of Ra-den.

Looking through the comments.. here's a quote from the video "Ranking only the available artifacts in-game" This leaves out Frostmourne, since Blades of the Fallen Prince only has a fraction of Frostmourne's power itself, yet could be reforged given all the pieces, and the fact that Frostmourne has never been an actual item in the game. Atiesh, while it was able to be obtained and equipped, it no longer can, and the fact that Khadgar wields it, how did he obtain it? No clue, guess it just found its way into his pocket. .. Going through 2 pages of comments Im surprised no one asked for Felo'melorn, which is a blade that holds more of significance both lorewise and in terms of power. All that said, pretty decent list.

Speculations are, Ny'alotha is probably an old god, defeated by his brothers and emprisoned in a dagger form. That dagger is probably by far the most powerful artifact weapon.

Personally I think the staff of the emporer Shaohao is more powerful than the ashbringer that ashbringer is just a sword infused with a light orb which was just a void orb owned by a random orc warlock that got purifed and was more powerful than other swords against undead it wasn't as powerful as everyone made it out to be, the staff shielded the entire of Pandaria from the great sundering way back during the war of the ancients

Honestly I think Ashbringer should be higher up on the list. Lore-wise the weapon allowed the wielder to turn any undead it touched to ash (thus the origin of it's name) and it's suggested via the in-game effect that it could do the same to demons. A weapon with the power to instantly kill any undead and potentially any lesser demon it came into contact with? Pretty powerful to me. #pallybias #sorrynotsorry

The Argent Defender that is not Why it is called ashbringer, the weapon Got its name after its bearer, Alexandros morgraine. His Nickname was "The Ashbringer" long before he even wielded the weapon

this list, and the lore of weapons in general just shows how much of an after thought rogues are and always have been to blizzard lore wise. how many expacs did it take for rogues to finally get the "revamp" they wanted? and that was just for 1 spec.

I have a question, either for someone to answer in the comments or for the big Q&A, before sargeras was defeated and had his soul split from his body, where was he? because he would have had to have been in the universe, and if Illidan was able to use the Keystone to open up a rift between Argus and Azeroth why couldn't sargeras do the same and get there no problem. Instead of using the well of Eternity, and as well as that if he was in the universe and a former Titan could have not just traveled to Azeroth through walking or doing whatever Titans did to move?

Sargeras was out in the universe destroying all of the planets the titans had ordered. Illidan is not as powerful as Sargeras is, not even close. Summoning Sargeras would take an immense amount of power. Look at what it took to summon Kil"jaeden and Archimonde and they are not even close to as powerful as Sargeras. Sargeras became more powerful than the titans themselves too. He was infused with fel and arcane energies.

I think Aluneth should be nº 2 or nº 3. The weapon itself could barely be controlled by the Guardian, and the current leader of the mages barely tapped into its power. The weapon itself refused to fight the avatar of Sargeras, so I believe that says something. Ultalesh might be powerful, but you need to kill your enemies in order to do that. With Aluneth, you get the power from the beginning.

the soul stealing artifacts have the ability to surpass any other as they can get stronger by slaying others so deadwind/blade of empire/frostmorne. forstmorne would take a very long time to catch up but it is stated the deadwind was so powerful even sargarus feared it what if it were to take his soul?

I am gonna gause that the "Ulthalesh, the Deadwind Harvester" and "Scepter of Sargeras" are going to be 2 and 1. Not so sure about Ulthalesh but the Scepter of Sargeras is probably gonna be 1
