I've been watching nfl football regularly for nearly 3 decades now. I've also gone back and watched lots of recordings of older games and highlights of players from before my time. Start to finish, Super Bowl 49 is easily the best game I've ever watched. The offenses and defenses from both teams played well throughout the game and it ended with one of the most memorable plays in nfl history. Plus just look at the people playing in this game, tons of HOF or future HOF players. So thankful I got to watch it live.

I can't believe I'm defending Pete Carroll, but look at the numbers. It isn't THAT bad a decision. Wilson had around a 7.1% chance of being intercepted. Marshawn Lynch (and/or Russell Wilson) had about a 5.3% chance of fumbling. You are talking about a 2% difference at most between the two outcomes.

As a kid growing up in North Carolina area all my life all i ever want was for a team like the Panthers to bring it's 1st ever Super Bowl Championship but although the may have gotten there but they couldn't get done well enough vs Patriots in 2003 if Carolina had a better 1st Round at QB a better Defense to be pressured Brady and a better right foot kicker then the Panthers win the game 1:55

I think my favorite (not what I think was the best) is the rams-titans in 2000, the one yard short game ending, because it was the first exciting game, a true super bowl, in like a decade. Mid-80s through the end of the 90s was a long train of boring SB games (only a couple exceptions) that were hard to watch because one team was outclassed horribly (not very super bowls). Rams-Titans brought excitement back to the game, and been lots of great games since. The best would probably be the Patriots comeback game, although the Giants beating the undefeated Pats with the almost-sack and helmet catch was one heck of a show.

No one will admit it, but dynasties always lead to the best games. When you're the "team to beat" like the Patriots with Brady or even right now with the Chiefs, teams will always bring their best. There's a reason a lot of these games were Patriots games, and the last two years with the Chiefs we've had two amazing Super Bowls. Easier for me to say as a Patriots fan, since my team was on the winning side of a lot of these, but I just think in general, outside of the NFL as well, you've got to have a villain in sports (MLB has the Dodgers right now and the NBA has LeBron and the Warriors).

What is a fluke is picking off a pass that should have been a run play. SB XXIII (Bengals/49ers) and SB XLIII (Cardinals/Steelers) being 7 and 6 is absolutely criminal. Two of the best Superbowl finishes in my 40 yr lifetime. They should be up there with XLII (Giants/Pats) as the 3 best finishes. And any game ending on a FG just aint it. Game winning touchdowns in the final minute are way more exciting.

I might be biased for saying this but Super Bowl XLVII has to be ahead of Super Bowl LVI. That goal-line stand especially on the heels of a 35-minute power outage against an offense that had steamrolled everyone in the playoffs that year alone should be good enough to make that list. But no there has to be recency and big market biased. Can't blame you guys too much though.

The honorable mention 49ers ravens is kinda crazy when at the end 49ers on 2nd goal Crabtree gets held/PI one or the other then next on 3rd and goal gets smacked with a helmet to helmet head shot and not one of them are called is kinda crazy! Hell even 4th down was questionable and could have been called def holding again. But despite all of that they probably should have at least attempted to run the ball on one of those 4 downs with the game on the line with that monster sized O-line and with frank gore one of the hardest runners all time as your RB.
