I've accidentally done owlless I just played sm64 for the first time the other day. I had no idea theres was an owl to take you to the cage I figured it was a platforming challenge after many attempts I finally got it and was so proud of myself. After researching sm64 speedruns I found out there was an owl always learning the blj which I used to beat the game without 70 stars.

tbh no setup cannonless is pure luck x) and to answer your question yes, GWK are possible, and you will basically do a few randomly if you play speedrun a lot Super Mario 64, but getting GWK consistantly is incredibly hard, that's why you'll only find them on single stars run

I slowed down the footage a lot so it was easier to understand all the complex movements that are required for these tricks. That might be why they appear to be slower then playing the game normally, but they save tons of precious time in runs.

nope, the N64 version is better... the biggest reasons (in my opinion) 1. the controls in the DS version dont work well (even on the circle pad... I've tried) 2. the extra length that it has just feels forced 3. the speedruns of the DS version just... no... And this is coming from a person who played the DS version before the original N64 version

I may of discovered a shortcut, on the 50 star door, there are pillars next to it, the left one is easier to get into, you need to BLJ into it and get to the top on it, this is at the level of the 70 star door so you can skip the time going up the stairs to it.

6:38 the reason the trick works is becuase the programmers coded it to where you can walk up slopes, if the slope isn't too high up. The fences count as ground, so they also count as slopes. That means you can glitch up the slope with the right precision.

no thats abselute bullshit, im pretty sure that fence is a 2 sided fence which means that there is no slope at the top and when you do you can go into the inner wall hitbox and it will push you inside the wall also slopes on fences are slippery slopes so if you touch it you will instantly slide
