Tom Venters, how can you say that when they are actually more competent than some of the white males that join the show with no education/degree and just use "banter" as apart of their charm when they have no credentials backing their business history, where allot of Asians have a background in business both small and large usually due to family business and dealing with customers. Alan Sugar has invested in countless bakery businesses and beauty shops that it starts to make you wonder...why is he choosing cakes in a saturated market when he could be doing something with numbers or the internet where allot of Asians excel in and make some real money, he says he likes to takes risks and gamble but that's bullshit when you consider he won't gamble with an Asian and only take safe bets on small time businesses with white people and slowly try to upscale them which is like easy for him to do with all his contacts. They only accept Asians on the show because they bring in the viewing numbers, but if you start to alienate them the figures will drop (the Asian market is big, never underestimate it), so he's aware of that, which is why they go so far but never end up winning, because this clown would rather own another cake shop than work with an Asian or Muslim, he's a closet bigot (maybe not a racist) and a bit sexist, the only time he will work with a woman is if all the white male candidates are dogshit useless and too much trouble or if the final two candidates are Asian and/or male, where he would opt for the white woman instead despite how much of a "headache" women are too him. Until I see an Asian get hired, my view and opinion on him won't change, since the proof is in the pudding. He keeps them in the process for so long just to keep the Asian viewers happy and them dumps them when ever he wants. Women are second on his hate list followed by blacks. He only ever wants to hire white males who are just thick as shit and have a bit of football bants.

Business acumen lol. Sorry but such things CAN be learned. This is someone from immigrant parents. My dad never had an education, came from a village abroad from poverty and worked hard his whole life. He is a multi-millionaire now. Same as my uncle (mums brother in law) who also started with nothing in another country and extremely wealthy. They worked super hard all their lives. You don't need 'Business acumen'. It's about hard work, network and luck. Syed was young there and he's done well for himself now.

Don't you have to be hired first to be fired? Otherwise anyone could go to a random person on the street and go you're fired

I love when he asks "Did you turn up to the flat with no keys to get in yes or no" Syed: "the wrong keys, yes" As if that's a much smarter thing to do! What a legend

Mistake on another level. At least he knew about and managed bringing keys..

The apprentice candidates of today wouldn’t stand a chance in this environment. The candidates of the first few series were much stronger and were genuinely interested in the job at the end as opposed to attempting a career as a C list celebrity. Sugar was also much more ruthless. Good things never last. 😔
