Nice vid with many valid points. That's something's I don't understand. Why not maintenance your vehicle? Your car should have new HVAC filters and check the brakefluid and clean and grease the brakes. It won't damage the car but maybe higher efficiency then the brakespads can move freely. It's a 100-150£ job if u don't so it yourself. One day u might need to emergency brake and then with water in the system u don't have full brake power. And the other I don't get with Tesla as a brand/company that the think every owner is a fanboy 😁 When I pick up my 60000€ car it was dirty and full of iron fallout.. and some damage, I took delivery because the interest rate was only 0.25% so but when they fix the damage I've got a free loaner but 2500€ deductible when I have 0€ on my own car or 1300€ with extra insurance. And when they do things wrong they can't/want to give something for their mistakes.. when u as a owner need to take time to fix it later..

I’m going to admit, I’m just very bad with maintenance on all of my cars I’ve ever had. I’m a “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it” kind of guy (which I know is bad for cars). On the customer service front, Tesla need to improve on this, but equally don’t feel it’s one of Elon Musks priorities. Tesla almost need Musk to create the innovation and get it set up, then someone else to take it on as a business to do the admin, non fun stuff that I don’t think excites Elon

You only have to look at Ford who were pioneers (like Tesla) and see they are still a household name in cars, despite other companies producing better or equally as good vehicles. Tesla will always be a well regarded brand in the automotive industry.

people love putting things down. any reason not to accept new tec. you did missed the myth that the UK power companies will not be able to supply all the power all the uk cars will need. hydrogen will only be useful for certain large vehicles. NOT cars. its far too expensive to produces. and uses more electricity to make than just given it to an electric car. Tesla will so be getting money from selling power to charge other car brands. the tesla network open to all, and earning money in sales. I note we miss out that about carbon we all forget we add more in to the environment having to make all the replaceable parts a car needs. how many spark plugs, oil filters, end up in landfill and so need more, made using goods, time and electricity to make and ship around the world. the car mileage and making it. itself is only a small part of the co2

That’s a good point I forgot about income from the charging network!! I think that could be a good income stream for them as well. Easy little mark up on the unit price for something they already have in place. I can’t believe that for each litre of fuel burnt. We create about 3kg of CO2, I kinda think how heavy 3kg is and we create loads of that if you drive a combustion can. All good points though. Thanks for taking the time to add them 👍🏻

AP is unreliable and disengages at critical points. Also, the warnings and alerts of nonexistent imminent collisions mean that before I drive my 3LR, every time, I turn them off. AP is meant to be an intro carrot to FSD. Based on my experiences of AP, if anything it has put me off spending €7,800 on a never ending beta trial. I drive from French Pyrenees to UK every 3 weeks and stay in UK for a week. Charging Infrastructure is mayhem, still! Aside from Tesla superchargers which are mostly in hotel car parks, the multitudes of charger networks is still a matter of subscription, purchase of RFID cards, downloading apps… as it has been for the last decade!

Where do you tend to find the supercharger network being mayhem? France or UK, or both? I'm going to start trying to challenge this more by driving to random parts of the UK to see what the infrastructure is really like. I've been lucky, the common places I go there have always been plenty of Superchargers available and never queues and on my route. I even made it down to Devon where I was worried I'd struggle, but it was fine, admittedly some slightly off route, but not a major division. I've not used any other networks, as not had to, but equally it does look like hassle because of no common payment method. Thanks for letting us know your experience, clearly there is still some work to go and it requires planning ahead still.

@@TeslaTorque not Superchargers, I mean the thousands of independent charger networks which change country to country and for which another app, RFID card or a few RFIDs and key ring fobs such as Chargemap,Freshmile etc etc…. That has to change. I have just arrived back in the UK today and the nearest and fastest (150kW) charger is at the back of a Shell filling station…. And there was a queue for it! So possibly 3hr wait! I’m currently plugged into a 3kW lamp post charger, so that’s about 20% charge every 5hrs 30mins with it’s own App which works only in Brighton, UK!

Hydrogen vehicles use fuel cells which are manufactured using rare metals which are not cheap. If you scale up production of fuel cells the price of the rare metals will go up not down, pricing fuel cells out of the mass market. I see hydrogen being used for trucks, trains and maybe ships but not for cars.

It looks like the EU definitely want to switch to Hydrogen and see it as the answer: www.fch.europa.eu/sites/default/files/Hydrogen%20Roadmap%20Europe_Report.pdf But I'm not sure customers will want to? The report focused on heavy transport so trucks, trains and ships, plus home energy. Personally, unless it becomes super super cheap, I'd rather stick with my battery car that I can fuel at home, use my solar and have some control over costs. I feel if hydrogen becomes the new petrol/diesel, we could be subjected to the same massive taxes we are with combustion fuel. I know they may do that with home smart chargers and electricity, but I'm also hoping we won't get taxed on electricity we produce and put into our cars from onsite generation. Who knows, but I'm not convinced any governments will be motivated enough to roll out the infrastructure quick enough to make the transition for private small cars anytime soon.

WRT the self-drive feature ‘killing’ people, I agree. Of course it’s not the software actively trying to bump you off… But there is an issue here, isn’t there, and that’s the people who think that Full Self Drive does exactly that…when it doesn’t/can’t. I think there are enough reports, especially in the UK, to show that you can’t trust the system to take you on a decent drive and not have any need for an intervention. I think most reasonable people accept this and know they need to maintain control, but the issue is that some are more than happy to trust their life to a computer and sit back to read a book. Yes, it can work quite well a lot of the time, but not 100%……and it only takes anything over 0.01% of a chance of an FSD error to wipe you out…..which is where the horror stories come from. Maybe these people have believed Mr. Musk’s much promised statements that full self-driving cars are imminent (we have to be fair and admit he’s been saying this for years, and it’s still not happened), and therefore are happy to pay £££ for the product and risk their cars and lives by using it without monitoring. So I agree the myth has been busted, assuming correct use of the product, but unfortunately too many Tesla owners just don’t do this, and contribute to the bad press.

Spot on what you said 👍🏻. I think it’s a shame that any accident involving a Tesla hits the headlines, where as all other cars don’t 🤷🏼‍♂️. Still would not trust autopilot enough to take my hands off the wheel, so when you see the videos of people asleep I think they are crazy. It might work better in the US with wider lanes on motorways, but my Model 3 still gets twitchy with lorries in Lane 1, and me moving from Lane 3 to Lane 2. Appreciate the input 👌🏻

Great video as always. My only concern is what will happen, if Tesla open the Supercharger network to non Tesla cars? Will this result in overcrowding, longer wait times, etc. ?

It might well do. They are doing it in Norway at the minute. I think the big problem is you’d get lots of slower charging EVs taking 40-50 minutes to charge when a Tesla could do it in 20 🤷🏼‍♂️. Hopefully they have a plan for this and will make pricing sensible

unbelievably i hear the range complains quiet often. it takes less than 1 minute to check the Tesla ranges online.

I've heard that due to market forces Tesla are going back to first gen battery tech for the Model 3, so next car is going to be the M3LR.

@@TeslaTorque Hmm I was a bit tired of all the problems I had with the car. I had to wait 4 months for a component replacement. One more problem I had was that I had to drive with the trunk fully open through the tunnel coz it won't close. Good thing Tesla service center was 25 min away. Still was nerve racking. Just over all fit and finish of the car. Although really love how tesla operates. Had to let it go. But maybe in the future ill be back to Tesla. I'm buying an Ioniq 5:)

I'm not entirely sold on the Ioniq 5s look, but I think the tech and design in it is pretty impressive. I could be wrong though, as not seen one in person yet and I wasn't sold on the Model 3s look either to be fair. Shame about the issues, I think earlier Models weren't as good, but from what I've seen of the later versions they seem to have upped their game, so hopefully you may return in the future, but Hyundai have some great EV tech too for efficiency.

Do you really think Tesla model 3 is comparable to BMW or Mercedes !!? You should compare it to a corolla or civic matter of fact with Kia Rio, Elantra or a dodge.you better do your research correctly rather throwing a comparison out there because your Tesla fan the material quality, road noise, handling and most importantly the manufacturing defects on model 3 are comparable to Lada from Russia or Ssangyong is better at putting a vehicle together and no they are resolved have you checked the recent issue they same as last year.So your myth bust is entirely not true

Just speaking from my own experience having driven them all. Mercedes definitely have it on the interior design front, but as I said to get all the features its going to cost you the same if not more. The more expensive BMWs are better than a Model 3, but a 3 Series basic spec is very similar to a Model 3 in my opinion, and I'd say the basic spec with no additions is worse, but happy for everyone to have preference. Have you recently been in a Tesla? The quality has improved dramatically from when they were being made in Fremont? Just had a quick google and on WhatCars reliability study, Tesla 15th out of 30, scoring 93.9% BMW 13th scoring 94.7%, Mercedes 22nd at 89.6%, Audi, Jaguar and Volkswagen were all below Tesla. I agree a few years ago there were issues, but I don't think that is the case now, as identified by the CEO of VW. The main point was they were similar in price, spec and quality, not necessarily any brand better, and that the massive price difference between combustion cars and Teslas was in fact a myth.
