I have been surprised at how much I am enjoying this game. I didn’t have any expectation for it and it has blown me away. The only thing I would like changed is spawn rate of certain enemies. It took me a couple hours to finish getting deer antlers from a specific area due to the amount of people there and low spawn rate

For quests like that, unless its the main quest you should look at the xp reward and think to yourself. "Is the reward for this quest worth the time im spending to finish it"

They should implement a way for the zones to get faster spawn times depending on how many players are in the zone Because having 2 deer spawning every 8 minutes when there is litterally 15-20 players running around and going for them is super annoying There should also be a way to guarantee Quest item drops when you contribute to the kill as when killing the deer you also need to skin it now and doing both at the same time is almost impossible I had to kill 9 deer to be able to skin 3 🙃

I spent 16 levels trying to decide what weapon combo I wanted to run lol, but Hatchet and War Hammer is what I’m going to use in the full game. I don’t play mmos or rpgs so I just picked a combo that I thought was fun

There's no "rule" for what to pick in MMO's. Just tried them out (you can free respect at any time until lvl 20 at least) and pick what you enjoy the most. Rapier seems to be decent since a few of the skills can negate incoming attacks, which makes it possible to even kill higher-level mobs than you. The great axe also feels pretty good. I've read that the 1-handed axe on the berserker side is good as well.

Agreed. The ride is more important than the destination! Enjoy it and stop to smell the flowers along the way. I don't want to rush to some end game, I want to take months getting to know the lore and the nuances. Yes I will die and yes I will come away some days scratching my head, but that's OK. I was also gaining azoth in the first dungeon. Additionally, you can craft gathering tools that have a chance to give you 1 azoth when harvesting (like, 35% chance to gain 1), it adds up over time with all the gathering you can do!

@@QuangLe-ny6ds Craft green tools, either by getting lucking or spending some Azoth when crafting the tool to get it to be green. There are several useful perks that can roll on your tools, and there's no reason to use iron or steel tools without perks imo

I did main quests and always have max. I also get a lot from killing and I have no idea what I kill or how I get them but I always get 1-10 from a quest

@@DeadlyRainbowz243 you get 10-20 azoth as an uncommon drop from nearly every mob and you can even get a vial of suspended azoth as a rare drop wich contains 30-100 azoth as far as i noticed. And if you wear a "drop rate of rare items from mobs" enchanted set you can get 2 vials per 20 min if your lucky and an hour at max.

As for the weapon combo, life staff and ice gauntlet (builder) are good together for solo leveling and PvE, as builder tree gives you ice block from WoW paired with evocation, so you get invul+mana really quick mana regen, and before casting ice block on yourself you can also put ice pylon and regen circle from life staff under yourself for healing as well as mana regen.

So I didnt realize this till like level 21 but when you go to faction rewards you will see "rune of holding" and this can be crafted with the course leather handbag and gives a good bump to you carry weight 50lbs extra at level 15

you can also add Azoth to the crafting of the satchel to get perks to give you even more carry capacity or a reduction of weight of certain types of items. For the first tier of satchel that you can craft however, I would recommend NOT using any azoth as I think that may make the "green" version become bound to the player (can no longer get into the beta to verify this anymore since beta is ended). If you "settle" for the common tier version, it does not become soulbound after it is used, meaning you can recoup some money by selling the satchel once you eventually upgrade your satchels to higher tier ones later in the progression.

Id recommend go im your key binds and bind you weapon swap easy to switch just using one button like a mouse button but go into your visuals as well so you can see both weapon ability bars. You can use the same button to cancel your roll animation so you dont stop after the roll finishes so you can move or get away faster

I’m genuinely enjoying the beta. The resource gathering feels rewarding. The crafting system is good and in depth. The raids are paced just long enough to not feel like a chore. My negatives are the caps on resources like Azoth and faction coins. And they need to have a few more teleport shrines across the land.

Cap on faction coins goes up quite abit as you gain levels in your faction , went from 3 k. To 10k , not sure on higher levels yet 😁👍 loving the game so far

RE: Azoth - the information you give here is somewhat lacking. Sure, you get larger amounts of Azoth for doing the main/side quests, but this is a finate amount. The most lucrative way to gain Azoth is by killing mobs, and specfically the undead. You can als gain Azoth through the tool perk Azoth Extraction

The Azoth Etraction perk is greatly under utilized or appreciated in my opinion. Simply having a really good tool (preferably one you use often like a Axe or Skinning knife) with the Azoth Extraction perk means you can easily and quickly replenish your Azoth stockpile by simply taking a few minutes and chopping some trees. During beta, I had both a Lumber Axe and a Skinning Knife which both had the extraction perk, and regardless of how much I fast travelled, I never ran out of Azoth. Granted, I was leveling professions so I was out gathering wood, iron, and rawhide nearly constantly. But even if I was just out questing, when I was finished questing, I would make sure to take a few minutes to completely fill my bags with some local resource (wood, ores, or rawhide) once I was done with the quests before I recalled to my inn. This meant that not only did I usually have so much raw resources that I sometimes found myself either selling the excess ones for gold or just refining them up to the next tier just to reduce storage weight, but it also meant that I usually always had max Azoth in stock and could then fast travel (or craft with the Azoth) regardless of how much it was going to cost. As you get up to higher tier and higher quality tools, they start (possibly) having more/better perks. My pickaxe by the end of the beta was a blue-quality Starmetal Pickaxe with the Azoth Extraction, Increases rare drop (so more gems), and increased resource (more resources per ore vein) perks... it was a beast for making iron/silver ore runs.

Started as tank, with heal offspec, then changed to musket/rapier. Liked both but would recommend pairing 2 weaps which have same main/second stat bonus. Team up and go PvP to level faster with faction missions too. Azoth can be farmed from particular enemies (like skeletons) and also there are profession buffs for your tools which offer a change to drop on every harvested resource.

I would like to add one extension: You will get Aether from excavations as well. Rather a lot, both from mobs and bosses. I have always been on my cap, while continuously fast travelling and crafting.

Another REALLY Good way to get Azoth is gathering. You can get Certian Perks on your Tools that give a 1/3 chance of gathering 1 Azoth when gathering something with that tool. That might not seem like a lot, but it adds up VERY Quickly.

Skillup was once talking about how devs can introduce variation into the 30 second gameplay (adding areas, weapons, skills, etc), and the last thing he was was "PvP naturally varies up the 30 second loop), so like you said, the devs have to do very little to keep PvP "fresh"

I just saw a level 45 paladin build for a faction war earlier today. He was using sword & shield / lifestaff combo and put about 100+ focus and 190+ constitution. Tanky AF but dealt little damage. He took a total of almost 500k damage and only died twice.

You can find hemp if your harvesting level is 25 as its shown on the video and you can spot it on the compass thing above your screen. So ill say keep grinding on the early level because it will be useful once you get to higher level plants that need specific level to harvest it

The town projects were on a 5min refresh rate. and the cooldown refreshes all not accepted missions. ontop, you can easily do it solo and you don't have to have support from anyone else.

Speedrunning and rushing to max lvl/gear to pvp better was always the goal in pvp-heavy games. I've played a game like this over 15 years ago and it was already there. There are pve-oriented games in which it's better to take it easy and not care. NW has territory influence, wars, fort attacks, or simply small/big scale pvp to not make other factions get influence on your terrain. If people were running around and killing mobs/picking up flowers for fun exclusively, it would make no sense, because once other faction takes over, your life becomes worse, cause taxes and no bonuses, so you want to keep that terrain for you, and that's very fun. I mean there are many pve players, but it's not the main point with this one. It's made for pvp focus. I think what NW does right is the balance between PvE and PvP, you can do both, just don't flag yourself all the time.

That's because you took the counter block node on the shield tree! It will give you a 10% bonus when you block an attack.

hey 2 questions. end game dungeon loot - boss drop loot is need/greed/pass for all players in party OR every player in team have his own loot? are there item sets?

everyone gets their own loot, the type of loot you get has no correlation to your skills or abilities. You can get anything just like regular drops or loot.

Just a heads up. If you aim for the head on something like a bow you will get a crit/orange damage.

I just hope the game devs find a way to make the balance of the factions keep in check, a lot of guide suggest us to go to a most dominant factions in the server that like a recipe to a short lived and toxic server. Maybe they can keep a feature that lure new players and motivate existing ones to keep the spirit to fight and win the war (some kind of better bonuses for newcomers or extra quest to gain a slight opportunity for lesser factions to comeback), because we want this game to be keep challenging for the players so somekind of mechanism that give the factions equal opportunity to win the war may help the game live longer.

Did my first raid/expedition last night with it and I was doing a lot of dps using the gauntlet for its abilities and then switching for the rapier for added dps,bleeds, and abilities. Rapier/Musket is the gonna be the sleeper combo I think. Dex/Int combo. Imagine one-shotting mobs as a musketeer, so much fun lol

This is the combo I used for solo leveling in beta. Rapier/Musket with first 50 points put into Constitution and then points into Dexterity after that. The reason I went with 50 into Constitution first is that who cares if the mobs hit you when your HP pool is ridiculously huge for your level (plus you also get a bonus to resource gathering at 50, so it lets you level crafting and hence get better project board quests faster). You don't even need to block or dodge, so it is basically a glass cannon build that isn't made of glass anymore. Big, fast damage output with a oversized health pool. In addition, if you don't need to dodge or block to stay alive with the bigger HP pool, then you don't need to wear light/medium armor and can instead go with almost full Heavy armor (with just gloves or boots being medium) and really mitigate a lot of the incoming damage. Add in a few damage mitigation gems and you can literally go toe to toe with just about any non-elite mob and just outlast them.

I was actually wanting to try a “paladin” build by going heavy armor+hammer and life staff. I guess I can use my attribute points to go into focus and get str and constitution through gear. I’m running a hybrid rapier + magic combo now but I’ve wanted to try this build as well

I'd personally recommend the rapier out of the 3 you have listed. I used bow + hatchet in alpha, I tried rapier, haven't touched any magic or the musket so can't comment on that. But I've been running bow + spear, mainly PvP focused but its suitable for a general build as well, just switch some of the skills

Greataxe is pretty much meta now.. Once u know animation cancelling an greataxe deals tremendous amounts of damage in no time at all has insane gap closers and if u rock light armor with it... Nobody escapes

too many games like this people play with their eyes glued to the minimap, you never learn your surroundings and often miss out on just appreciating how beautiful the world looks, its a design choice that makes you occasionally go the wrong way, in the hopes you'll discover something cool, which i've happened to do alot unintentionally. It's designed to be immersive.

I also have to admit i like not haveing a mini map since you dont have to stop to use the big map so i am totally fien i just check for unpassable terrain etc every now and then but mostly i use the skyrim style compass at the top it is extremely immersive. And i am one of those eyes glued to minimap so i can say you appreciate the surroundings way more and you learn wher to go by memory way faster.

I have a kind of stupid question. What determines your Starting City? When I played the Alpha I started in Everfall. However this Time around I started in a new city. I would like when the game releases to start back in Everfall because I know where everything is there. Is there away I can assure myself that I get Everfall as a starting location? Is it Server based or just randomly picked when you start a new character?

It's random. All the starting cities have the same types of basic quests, so you can run from one to the other if you want, but I think it's partly to spread out the load of new players, partly for game reasons (spreading out = people trying to take "their home turf").

I have to say the hemp and stuff does say where but its not tracked tell you harvest enough tell your about 30 cuz it took me 2 days to find it and then I couldn't even farm it cuz I didn't have the level Requirements

I never knew you could press E to get a player back up after being knocked down/on deaths door. Amount of people who don't know this either is huge. Something that should be taught early on in a quest.

I dont have a weapon combo I just use the spear I can just keep knoking them down then I put all my points in dexterity and health or whatever its called I love it because I dont like taking a bunch of damage but I want to do a bunch of damage

Have you had the chance to form a group and farm mobs at dead man's cove? I cleared it with 4 people and the xp was very good at lvl 22. The mobs are elite and drop major health potions which 3 handed in give 4800xp. I think this could be the best exp per h if the tank n healer is good.

I love to see in the comments that almost no two people are running the same weapons combo....that shows a good amount of balance/fun level for all the items. I haven't played yet (I'll be in the open beta on the 9th), but I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far.

Just started with the Hatchet and it feels really god, better than Rapier to me.. Think i will pair it with a musket just because i love the sound. (it also has really good dmg)

@@AerikCook Rapier is more then just meh, once you get bleeds rolling then have every hit make your CDs come up faster to then add more bleeds LOL its a jet engine truck on a drag strip

To be clear for those curious about the best weapon section. The sword and shield are not the ONLY way to tank. Its just traditional, there are a few weapons that provide rotating defensive and threat generating capabilities. For example the war hammer has lots of damage reduction and 1 aoe taunt if you put the right gem in. The sword and shield of course is the strongest when it comes to easy to play defensive tanking. The game prides itself on being able to do more than one build don't lock yourself to what others think are meta when in reality lots of options work.

yes you can try to be one but you'll never really be a tank, not without a shield, nothing else is able to tank the end game content like the sword and shield.

basically the majority of ppl playing this game have never played a game in their life ò.ò "how do i find stuff?" -> open map "how do i join faction?" -> play the game ò.ò ... now, as i didn't play the beta or anything and just saw a gearing simulator, do the passives of the weapons stack or only the passive of the current weapon are active? also, is weight a problem for light wearer characters without any strenght? from that simulator that looked like a big problem but im not sure if i should trust it :D thanks~

Good weapon combos: Tank: main tank (spec: cons + str) : sword/shield (main) + hatchet (off) Paladin (spec: cons + focus) : sword/shield (main) + life staff (off) Support: main heal (spec: focus): lifestaff (main) + ice gauntlet (off) Off heal (spec: focus + str): life staff + hatchet Dps: melee (spec: str): great axt (aoe) + hatchet (single target) (S tier in pvp) melee (spec: dex): rapier (aoe) + bow (single target) ( S tier in pve) ranged (spec: dex): speer + musket or hatched (A tier pvp) Fire staff and ice gauntle are not really popular right and haven't played myself either. I think hatchet is the most well rounded weapon. Rapier and great axt have strong abilitys. Life staff is more fun than you think (beacon skill is great). Sword and board is more like sword and bored. It has low dmg, but it shines in dungeons.
