nyonya laksa is a must try food when in Melaka. As a local, I ate many laksa before, but the moment I try nyonya laksa, it blows my mind!

I went on mini food tour in Melaka with my family a couple of months ago and went to that charcoal roti canai place. I loveeee the kuah dhal. My mom said the charcoal really make a difference. Maybe because the heat differs from gas cooking. For the Klebang coconut shake, I have tasted better coconut shake near my home in Selangor. Maybe because that stall was much generous in terms of the ingredients. But it is still fun to go have a taste at the original stall. Have you gone to Umbai for the grillled fish? It is a must try, at least for me. I went to a place called Ikan Bakar Parameswara. It was amazinggggggg.... Since Melaka is a small state so it is quite easy to tour the whole state in a shoy period of time, especially when it has so many unique and tasty food. Such a perfect place for food tour.
@ChasingaPlate7 жыл бұрын
We ran out of time to visit Umbai ParkSiQa 😭 We'll totally have to return to have ikan bakar there! We keep hearing it's amazing! We really felt the roti was different at Roti Canai Kayu Arang too- it must be the high, even heat from the charcoal, whatever it was, it made it sangat sedap!! We loved our time in Melaka and can't wait to go back soon for more food tours!! Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Cheers, Sheena P.S What's the name of the coconut shake place near your home? 😋😍
@teeq917 жыл бұрын
Chasing a Plate - Food and Travel Channel Then you have more excuse to go back to Melaka hihihi I think maybe you might wanna avoid school holidays or any public holidays when you go to that ikan bakar place. It is going to be way too crowded. Oh that coconut shake stall is just a really small stall in Rantau Panjang, Klang (dont confuse it with Rantau Panjang in Kelantan 😁 ) Nothing fancy. The owner just open the stall for side income so the opening hours is quite irregular but usually it opens after 5pm until around 10. I dont think it even has a name lol I am in Kedah now, if not I can check it out for you. 🙁
@ChasingaPlate7 жыл бұрын
All good mate, thanks for that! Oh yes, we are learning to avoid school holidays and public holidays! 😆 Have the best time in Kedah mate! We are heading there in December- can't wait! Woo hoo! Cheers, Sheena

Melaka was once called a "Sleepy Hollow" but not anymore.Going by your well compiled Food List you have raised its image as one of Malaysia's Food Paradise fantasy. The best Klebang coconut shake today is a new phenomenum ! They are never short of customers. A great hit to many and on scorching days,what a good way to cool off.lts similar to the cendol effect in authentic thick brown nipah sugar or gula Melaka!!👍❤️Well done Sheena and Thomas for raising food awareness for viewers around the globe.Brilliant filming, best review and great foodie info and a big thank you for your untiring energy and dedication🍽️💕Best wishes. Hey Tosh! You're correct there is a bit of extra content in this one. Good spotting! We were going to make full videos on some of these but sadly time wasn't on our side. We'll have to return one day soon to make full videos! We hope you enjoyed this quick top 10 and thanks so much for watching! Cheers, Thomas 😀

I bet I'm slightly different than most in that I subscribe to only a handful of travel and food channels - no other KL vloggers although Friday and NYC are lovely people no doubt - so it's very easy to spot your new content. I'm not overwhelmed with new videos every day. Anyway, yup, that satay hot pot is interesting. I'm not a fan of table cooking (hot pots, fondue, Korean BBQ). Love the food. *_Love cooking in my kitchen._* Not a fan of cooking in a resto. 😂
@ChasingaPlate7 жыл бұрын
haha I tend to agree about table cooking Tosh! Although this satay celup was really fun and when we were in Korea early last year I fell in love with the Korean BBQ. I can't wait to return there over the New Year to have it again. It will be freezing cold also so heading into a little restaurant for Korean BBQ is going to be amazing! Your support really is incredible and we really can't say thanks enough! We love making these videos and it's so neat having you follow along and enjoy the content. Thanks! - Thomas 😀

I just saw Sheena reply last week on the Roti John video that egg salad is one of her favorite sandwiches. Well, you have to look up a shop in Vienna, Austria named *Trzesniewski* which serves two dozen varieties of open faced egg salad sandwiches. That's all. It's so crazy. Rows and rows of tiny sandwiches with an egg salad base and lots of toppings like liver, herring, speck, paprika, mushrooms, tomato sauce, you name it. It's over 100 years old and one of my destination restos when I visited. It wouldn't work in the U.S. but how fun is that? 😀👍
@ChasingaPlate7 жыл бұрын
Whaaaaaaaat?! I love how places like this can exist for so long serving one thing because they do it so well. It really blows my mind. When we get to Vienna that will be our first stop- egg salad and herring for me please!! 😋😋😋😋😋 Thanks for sharing Tosh! Cheers, Sheena
