Love these points of why you don’t miss rving. I don’t blame you on the mail and the ice. My friend is using one because her new refrigerator her ice maker doesn’t work. It’s slow making ice. And getting Dr care that’s the one I wouldn’t miss too! These are all great points. Thank Dustin and Leslie! Great video! And I hope you have a great week and weekend and Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁

Don't like the side roads when there is a turnpike alternate road that was horrible in oklahoma

I remember the time you got caught in a hail storm which I believe was in Wyoming and bad weather was one of my pet peeves along with backing on the blind side. There was times I felt like a circus side show with everyone watching you having a hell of a job backing in. I've been off the road 4 years now and I have to admit there's still a lot I miss about rving.
@WaywardWaggsАй бұрын
Oh yes, blind side backing in is God awful. Those spots shouldn't exist!

We learned that getting off on to a highway versus a freeway is lack of gas stations thats qualified for 5th wheels
@CarolLovesJesusАй бұрын
My favorite memory... Backing out on Las Vegas Blvd during morning rush hour traffic...because friggin Flying J's gas station didn't have an outlet. There was a cement sidewalk between the truckers lot & the gas station and nowhere to turn around or drive through to get out. Our motorhome took regular unleaded.. Definitely stopping to get gas was always a %@&$# nightmare!

Oh wow, that sucked!

As you know, I'm a bird of a different feather lol, I love to drive, planning to me is fun, I always like to have something to do so chores & maintenance wouldn't all that bad. But what i think will bug me most is our grand baby being long ways away & being Canadian dealing with health care issues scares me to death & getting meds for my Bride. Driving truck for so many years gave me the travel bug and let me experience it from a different angle.
@WaywardWaggsАй бұрын
I totally understand that, the distance from loved ones is really tough. Meds are a pain to deal with, but doable. The opportunities & experiences rving gave us made it all tolerable 😊

Crowded campgrounds and the lack of campground maintenance was high on the list for Steff and I.
@WaywardWaggsАй бұрын
Yes! The maintenance of a lot of these parks doesn't even come close to justifying the price they charge.

I am technologically challenged and not really good at FaceTiming so even though we made an effort to stay connected I missed the in-person time with our families.
@WaywardWaggsАй бұрын
Ya, it's not the same, but it is a good filler until you can see them in person. We FaceTimed once a week with grandbaby, and it helped us get through 😊

Medical care on the road is a huge issue, it is the main reason Jo-Ann and I got off the road. I've had 4 surgeries on my stomach, and have been hospitalized quite a few times because of stomach issues. I had a medical scare in Willcox, Arizona and thought I was going to need surgery again, and we were about 2 hours away from anyone who could do the surgery, and then there is a 6 to 8 week recovery period after. Jo-Ann has worked at insurance companies for a total over over 20 years now. She told me the most homeowner claims they get are because of dishwashers, and refrigerators. ( with water and ice makers) We didn't enjoy travel days either, not at all. The #1 thing Jo-Ann and I hated about Full Time RVing was having bad neighbors at campgrounds. People who let their dogs bark constantly, didn't leash up their dogs, didn't care about quiet hours etc. It seems that a lot of people don't have any camping etiquette these days. Good video guys. JT

It's crazy how common it is for people to disregard campsite etiquette, right?!
