I was working for a water damage company in the past and we had a contract to clean up a furniture store that had been flooded out soaking all their carpeting. Our normal procedure was to vacuum up most of the water, remove soaked padding and use high power fans to put most of the moisture into the air so it can be collected by dehumidifiers. We would also treat the wooden tack strips and baseboards with a Quaternary Ammonia solution to kill mold. One of the furniture store employees decided that he could "Smell Mold/Mildew" and he decided to throw some bleach on the problem. This created a massive cloud of Chlorine Gas that resulted in the evacuation of all customers, employees, and our crew. The store reeked of the gas for a week and most of the furniture has to be destroyed because it trapped much of it in the material. Yes, we warned him not to use bleach on top of our cleaning materials. Yes, he got fired.

When I was a teenager, I was cleaning the bathroom, and I accidentally mixed ammonia with bleach. I thought I was going to die. I couldn't get the door open (it was warped), so I had to open the window to breathe. Supposedly, that is like being in a gas chamber. I'll never forget that.

On the note of dryer lint. If you like to have camp or back yard fires for the same reasons listed in the video it makes an incredible fire starter for wood fires. Stuff some of it in an old toilet paper tube, pour some old used cooking oil into it for the lint to soak up. And just put a small flame to it before piling the twigs onto it. Will light up in no time, and easy to make with stuff you were going to throw out anyways.

25 years ago, I was drinking 2 or 3 - 12 packs of Dr. Pepper every week. For years. I quit them and cigarettes on the same day. Cold turkey. Ya see, my mother-in-law was suppose to come stay with us for 3 weeks but had to change her plans at the last minute. I was already resigned to 3 weeks of misery. Why waste all that mental preperation? Might as well get ride of a couple bad habits, right?! Anyway, I still don't smoke. And now the only soda I have is an occational Barq's rootbeer over icecream. If I go through a 6 pack a year, I would be shocked. Instead of the soda's I drink Semi- sweet tea or water. It was hard at first but after 6 months, you don't even miss them anymore.

Top 3 (In my opinion): 1. Sitting 2. Drinking too much water 3. Being too tall Some of these are so normal, yet they could be life threatening. While some are explainable and understandable, I list my top 3 from most clear to absolute baloney. Sitting definitely deserves number 1, and I felt like water was less noticeable toxicity than soda because it contains nothing. Being too tall seems a bit odd to be life threatening because there are lots of people that are 5-7 feet tall, so that's a bit questionable plus those people that are that tall are rare and they have different mental conditions than we do.

An honorable mention would be almonds, bitter almonds to be specific. Some may find the taste appealing, but almond milk manufacturers quickly found out to avoid using bitter almonds like the plague. Why? Because mixing the juice from bitter almonds with water produces cyanide. So make sure that those almonds you snack on are not bitter almonds.

Forgive me for feeling trolled by a few entries, but as a child, I was not a very active little girl. As far as the #1 entry goes, excessive exercise and excessive standing is just as bad for the body, in that it's equally strenuous. Middle and high school years were severely lacking in moderation with that, and my body was stressed out because of that, that as soon as I got home, as far as putting first things first goes, first things first wasn't homework, but rather rest!

As an ultrarunner, I know drinking water is important, but it can be quite dangerous if runners don't get enough electrolytes and salt with that water. Plain water doesn't do it, especially if people are active in hot weather. I ran a long race this weekend and wasn't getting enough salt, so I was getting the beginning signs of cramping in one of my ankles. At the aid station, I ate a piece of banana, dipped in salt and that did the trick, no more cramps! so, when you're active outside in the sun, drink something with electrolytes in your water like NUUN or Tailwind or Hammer Heed. Or, salt tabs helps too!

Coffee turns me into Tigger, I prefer tea. 😁 Never plucked my nose hair. Don't own a dryer, can't afford the electricity it costs. Apparently some tourists to Everest base camp die on the mountain, because they aren't capable of coping with the high altitude. I have heard of toilets in the UK blowing up, because of mixing cleaning chemicals, so they now been have labelled, warning you not to mix them. Also household products with ammonia in are rarely used anymore. I once drank a glass of cola too fast and it went up and out of my nose. 😁 Even when I'm sitting, I rarely sit still, I always shift around and get up occasionally, because if I sat still, because I've got arthritis and I would get stuck where I was.

I sometimes need to mix Hydrochloric acid and Chloride. I of course do it on a very open place and also not directly, first one into water and then the other. Even if I'm on a ventilated space as soon as I see the fizz like I was pouring Coke I hold my breath and gtfo as soon as I can, and I won't go back for the next 30 minutes.

I helped a family in my mother's neighborhood escape a burning house. The daughter said the fire came from downstairs. They never changed the dryer lint!!!!

Humans are not weird. What you call weird is a simplistic explanation regarding the fact that moderation plays a fundamental role in our lives.

I collect lint from the machine and put in a container in my camping kit. Makes a very useful firestarter when used intentionally

#5. I’m from the (East) Bay Area. I remember when that news story came out about Jennifer Strange. Nintendo had just released the Wii and that’s what the contest was for. She “won” the contest.

when I started my job I had to start on night shift, and tried the 4hr energy drink. did not make me not sleepy, just caused my heart to pound hard for a couple hours. i don't see how my co-workers can drink 2 or 3 Monsters or Redbulls each day....

I don't drink much coffee so this isn't a big concern. Who would drink 50 cups? I keep energy drinks to a minimum since that stuff can be deadly. It would be better to trim nose hair than pluck it. I think my uncle was unaware that the dryer collects lint because when I cleaned it out it was super thick. Well, my uncle's basement is mostly made of stone or concrete so it probably wouldn't burn the house down that easily. I actually did try out alcohol in a hot tub and felt sick. I wouldn't get myself too drunk. I don't recall getting altitude sickness on Mount Hood. That would probably be high enough for that to happen. Mount Hood doesn't have a death zone. There have been people who went up Mount Everest without oxygen masks somehow. I wonder why the first people to reach the top needed oxygen masks when it is possible to do it without. WHOA DAMN! I try not to drink soda on weekends. Damn, I need to stop sitting.
