"What Dreams May Come" hit me hard. I lost my grandfather to suicide, I loved him greatly. He was a wonderful man who ended up suffering a horrible disease - to which he ended his life. That movie made me think if any such thing were even remotely the truth, I would rather be with him in a hell, than without him in a paradise.

"It's a Wonderful Life" was NOT a "life-after-death" movie, but more of an alternate reality. George Bailey didn't die; he hadn't even jumped yet. Clarence just showed him what the world would have been like if he had never been born to begin with. I would replace it with the wonderfully underrated Robert Downey Jr. movie "Heart and Souls".

"The strange man's face still showed no emotion. 'You are not permitted to access Heaven yet. So you can take this offer, or you can join your friend.' 'What about purgatory?' I asked. His monotone voice sent shivers down my spine as he replied. 'Earth is Purgatory.'" - The Pariah

Just Hollywood picks. I myself choose the japanse film After Life by Hirokazu Koreede, where people when they die are sent to a station with workers helping them to sort out their best memories. The top moment (which may be hard to pick) are reenacted in a film studio, you then watch the reenactment on film and are transported into that memory, to live there forever, always feeling the same thing you felt living that moment the first time. It's a truly beautiful movie. See it, if you please.

Enter the void is such a trippy movie and heavy not many people can watch it without getting bored is very interesting movie but not for all tastes, there was a 2010 Brazilian movie called "NOSSO LAR" the movie shows an interesting depiction of afterlife being an calm place but not like the typical paradise with angels and clouds everywhere, they show an afterlife that looks similar to this current world but without wars, disease, hunger, well watch the movie and you will see what i mean, it was distributed by 20th Century Fox

Does anyone recall the name of that movie where it starts by a guy entering a room full of people setting on chairs and no chair for him, and there is a TV where an old lady tell some instructions to them and he gets mad for some reason... then when he tries to escape from the hole they stop him..? I think it's pretty recent like 2010 - 2015

No "the Fountain"?? Are you kidding me?? It's the ONLY one where someone's not wandering around like a ghost or a zombie! Deals with Hugh Jackmans reluctance to move on, how death means giving up your memories and feelings, the unending loneliness! And how death is so foreign that even IF it could be put into words, it wouldn't make sense. Death doesn't have to be ugly or painful but it is still an *end* of life. My god, what an underrated masterpiece!
