Please make a top ten times Penny was the worst. Keep in mind that the deterioration of her character was partly Kaley’s fault. She didn’t try to add layers to her character or make her more than just the pretty girl that ended the relationship when she and Leonard broke up. They should have focused on giving her a personality and make her a female character like Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe, but with her OWN TRAITS, so that people wouldn’t say she was ripping off FRIENDS. Penny was a character who avoided and feared the things life offered through falling in love ( saying I love you, wanting and accepting love, marriage, and the WORST trait she exhibited in the end: having kids. Making her not want these things and making the story force these things to happen because she’s too afraid made her a hollow character) The fact that she [Kaley] doesn’t care anymore shows how bad an actress she really is. She has problems in real life you know. She’s a diva, a drama queen, and she’s desperate for attention.

I’ll never get to go to space but I bought my wife a charm bracelet that has a star charm with a diamond in it. I got a company to send it up with a weather balloon to over 100k feet which is almost space and then it fell after the balloon popped. So it was a star that fell from the sky.

He also antagonized Sheldon on purpose, knowing well how Sheldon works mentally. While Sheldon’s “mean moments” were due to a borderline autistic logical sense of view, Howard’s meanest moments were DIRECT and ON PURPOSE. And then he’d play the “Aw I’m a nerd. I’m awkward. I don’t know how to people” card. Like no. You’re a jerk.

The show would have been better if it had ended after season 7/8. But no. Dragging it out made it horrible and hard to watch. None of the characters ever exhibited true humbleness. I personally thought that Leonard should have had a role similar to Chandler in the sense that his childhood makes him the better person overall.

Howard and Bernadette actually are perfect for each other. They’re the show’s “Quagmire” where they will say horrible things about their “friends” and loved ones, yet will cry and play the victim the moment someone calls them out on it. Howard constantly jabbed at Raj, openly insults Sheldon, and takes shots at Penny once he gets over her. Bernadette takes shots at Penny and Amy, emasculates Howard, yet will break down if you bring up her behavior.

Howard has always been my favourite character. The development from the horny engineer who is never wrong about sex and numbers to the loving and caring husband and father. He is committed to them, never cheated and supported his wife no matter what. That says a lot. And also a great friend, he helped leonard to get that job with stephen hawkings, gave sheldon paper to hawkings before he break down and intended to do it from the start even though making him do tasks, been a loving mother and been with her till her death since he is the only one she got. And helped with Raj and been friends with him when everyone got busy with their life and family. Howard is the one who invited Raj to thanksgiving to his house before S01 and considered him as his family from the start.

I too loved Howard’s growth thruout the series; I was amazed he made it thru that trip to space; your pick for #1 was spot on, and indeed there were plenty of times I had no problem when Sheldon and Howard argued back & forth. But I didn’t find his impression of Sheldon remotely funny bc of Sheldon’s stunted emotional IQ (likely Asperger’s) and I just thought that was mean. Sheldon doesn’t even recognize when he’s being mean - he *seriously doesn’t realize what he’s saying is obnoxious* so to try and *_get back at Sheldon_* is sort of like getting back at your niece or nephew who was rude to you earlier during a holiday meal. You, as an adult, can of course tell them not to be rude but it’s something they have to learn & I don’t believe ppl w Asperger’s *can* learn it. In any case, that’s just my opinion, but I loved most of your other picks!!

Yeah, Howard did pretty much stay a jerk and even though he stopped being so creepy with Penny, it doesn't excuse his previous sexual harassment and how uncomfortable he made as that killer robot ep where she was made to apologise to him was beyond gross. He was also SO selfish, likes to hurt/insult others, didn't do any housework and barely had to take care of his own kids as he still got to do all the things he wanted to do while others mostly took care of them even though it's Howard who wanted kids.

@Christopher Bingham Yeah. Still there are plenty of reasons to hate the show overall. There is no real character development. The one character who lacked it the most was Penny. Penny was forced to face the things that come in life regarding love, and never once did she WANT them. (she was forced to say I love you, she was forced (by the story) to finally accept commitment (marriage, though I feel like it was actually sad, because her acting career was more important to her than Leonard, and it wasn’t until she gave up that she decided, “I’ll just settle for the next best thing, him.” He was SECOND in her life) and the final disappointment, parenthood). To explain this, you have to understand that a character’s feeling towards a certain topic/subject in life, should be addressed early on in the stages of their introductions. For example in HIMYM, it was established in the beginning that Robin was NOT the mother and would probably never be one herself, because she didn’t like kids (despite the fact that she is a great aunt in the future). Furthermore, things also take a dramatic turn, when it’s discovered that she CAN’T have kids at ALL because she’s infertile. This causes her to have a huge low point in her life that gives her depth as a character. TBBT however handled Penny and Leonard’s relationship really badly. Everyone knows that when you’re in a committed relationship, talks are had about how one feels about certain things in life, and this leads to character structure, and these talks led to critical decisions being made in life. (Like Robin had by building her character up. Some people even say that Penny is a ripoff and worse version of Robin). The most important talk had led to her and Ted breaking up, which was a very mature and well written story decision. The fact that Penny and Leonard never discussed kids before getting engaged, and most importantly getting married, was honestly lazy writing. Penny on the other hand, was honestly just a pretty girl for Leonard, and in the last four seasons she became the most PAINFUL THING to see in the last four seasons show, because it’s obvious that she doesn’t love him, and if she does, the show never shows them being close or intimate because the actors were unprofessional and didn’t want to show their characters in love. She was very unrealistic in many moments. For starters she should never have sought Beverly’s approval, and should have shown distaste and spite towards her. The fact that she (Penny) laughed at Leonard’s public humiliation shows how uncaring she was. I’ve read stories where Leonard wins a Nobel prize, has a genius kid with Penny and they both love their child A LOT and celebrate the holidays. Beverly tells Leonard that him winning a Nobel Prize is proof that her methods are right. But raising their child with love, and having their kid also grow up to be successful as a genius, will ruin her career as a psychiatrist. This causes Penny to threaten Beverly for trying to tell them how to raise their child without love and tells her to NEVER return to their lives ever again. That, is a better version of how Penny should have been. She should have been shown to be passionate about something she truly loved. Also personally letting Sheldon be a large part of their life after marriage was also a mistake which is why in those fanfics, she actually is tougher on him and doesn’t take his bullshit.
