Justice is about making things right. Requiring that woman to work in a fast food joint after throwing food, teaches her a lesson. Paying her room and board among hardened criminals doesn't. The Picasso villain should have been made to pay restitution, to restore the painting. He'd probably have to sell his house or take a 2nd job and work it off. Sitting in a cell won't teach him a lesson. Do you believe prison is for punishment? It's not. Taking people's freedom away and isolating them for the good of society is punishment enough. It's meant for those who cannot live amongst us because they're too dangerous. It's not for weed smokers or brats who throw food or deface public art. What sort of extra punitive measures would you like to see? Floggings?
