Thing is even if Hitler was taken out, well at least any when after he got to power, someone else (probably Goebbels or Himmler) would of just took his place, and Himmler especially would of been worse than Hitler was I think. It wouldn't of ended Nazism in Germany. Even Churchill thought it was pointless to assassinate him as he knew that would happen.

This probably won't be popular but Hitler not dying could actually be a good thing. If Hitler died then a more component leader would have likely replaced him which means that Nazi Germany would stand a much better chance at winning the war. At one point in time, a team of allied snipers were set up to kill Hitler but it was called off since allied command decided that if Hitler died then a more capable leader would take his place.

@@mansamusa1743 some historians disagree on the exact year Hitler began wearing his unique moustache but the gas mask theory seems likely as large bushy moustaches weren't able to fit under the gas masks which were first introduced in 1916 Hitler's sister in law Bridget did say that Hitler wore the toothbrush in 1912 after he allegedly visited her home in Liverpool she urged Hitler to cut the ends off his moustache as she couldn't stand it being bushy but Bridget's story seems untrue as later photographs of Hitler during WW1 show him wearing a Kaiser moustache

*It was reliably reported circa [1942/3] that Herman and Adolf held frequent 'farting' competitions and fell out when Herr Göring released an awesome blast that actually broke Herr Hitler's recently installed WC at Berchtesgaden, he was NEVER forgiven after this incident and Hitler lost his record [being on Cabbage & Sauerkraut] of the best Farter in Deutschland & Österreich. He was a broken man after this incident and rarely spoke to Göring again, and was often overheard repeating Ich bin der beste **_BOMB_** Farter im ganzen Dritten Reich. This was probably the Largest Bombshell actually dropped at the time, and reputedly the Blast was felt as far away as a München BierKeller.*

Of course, Hitler was not the only evil: Churchill wanted war with Germany to remove Germany as a regional power. The Soviet Union actually took more of Poland than Germany did (Soviet Union also took over the Baltic States). Unfortunately for Churchill, England lost the war since England was no longer a great power after the war, and also did not obtain its supposed objective, the freeing of Poland, since Poland ended up under the Soviet Union.

There are many more places where he could have died on the front.. Since he was wounded about a few times on the front line and 2 of them were chlorine gas attacks during a offensive (reason why he despised chemical weapons on the battlefield and did not allow the use of it aslong the enemy did not.) and once a bunker he was heading towards got struck by artillery and exploded a few seconds before he was about to enter it wounding him again by shrapnel.. And each time he demanded to be send back to the front once he recovered even though he could have being given a honourable discharge if he wanted to.. So I got to give the man credit where it is due.. He is no coward when it comes to frontline combat atleast when he was younger. And he had the medals to proof it.. He was considered a war hero by a majority of Germans for his courage.. Which sadly helped him gigantically during his political career.. Especially among the more older Germans and veterans at the time whom remember the Great War.

I don’t think Hitler’s WW1 encounter with British Private Henry Tandy actually took place. It’s a fun story, but we only have Hitler’s word for it that this near-death experience took place. Hitler could not possibly have known it was Tandy, even though he claimed to have recognized Tandy from a painting after the war. Tandy never remembered the event, and I find his word more reliable than Hitler, who was a notorious liar.

WWII was going to happen reguardless if Hitler died. He would become a matyr and one of his followers would take his place and even if you killed all the Nazis a different group would have rose up to take on the Allies due to the nature of the Treaty of Versailles which guarentees Germany to revolt and attack surrounding nations. If by some miracle at of the millions of people in Germany noone replaces Hitler; Russia would have Replaced them because they too attacked Poland and and half of europe in before WWII officially started. The Allies could have: 1. Invaded Norway first, not North Africa first, and started the USAAF air campaign much earlier, based in Oslo. 2. Sent two U.S. Armies (After North Africa and simultaneous with Sicily) including six regiments of Army Airborne to Crete, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania (the objective) to capture Ploesti much earlier. 3. The invasion of the Baltic Sea with a U.S. Naval Armada reinforced by the Royal Navy and Canadian Navy. Major US Marine Corp landings upon Germany's coast line coupled with an Allied Airborne invasion of Denmark follows. 4. "D-Day" is launched entirely out of Southern France, not Normandy.

1. The British tried in in 1940 an failed... 2. Not enough trasport capacitiy and very long supply lines 3. the worst idea, the germans had supremacy in the air in this area and again too long supply lines. 4. the real "D-Day" in of Southern France had no big effort. And the beach of St. Tropez was not big enough for more troops

"If Hitler had died, all the World War 2 would've been prevented." - You're shitting me right? Germany was near to collapse in 1920-30s, treaty of Versailles treated German people and economy very badly, and Soviets already had that blood-thirsty Stalin in power. Either Germany would've started the war or Soviet Union.

The more interesting failures was the failure of the UK to send troops to repulse the German army coming into the Rhine/French area when Germany was so weak the German Army had orders to retreat & the Grrman brass intended to take Hitler out in that event. When Hitler invaded Poland the French Army made a feint into Germany then retreated. A major British/French push would probably have ended Hitler there. There are other such times & chances where Hitler could have been defeated not merely killed. See the Fat Electrician also highlighted by Mr Terry the Historian on the British Tank genius all the supposed German Tank geniuses read & studied basing all their tactics & strategies on his work.

Better question is, Why would you want to stop Hitler? Shouldn't you want to stop Churchill, or better yet Trostki and Lenin and save hundreds of millions of lives and prevent all of it?

This is not about how we could have stopped Hitler, it is about some German resistances attempts of killing him (not even all of them). There are much more things the outer world could have done, for example Chamberlain and his cowardy stepping down to Hitler in the Czechoslowakia negotiations and many, many situations even before.

If Hitler was stopped before WW2: WW2 wouldn't occur Early Cold War (Soviet Union vs. Western Countries) would replace WW2 Germany in 1930 -1946 would either be neutral or sided with the Allies WW1 would be known as the World War since the Second World War would just be the Cold War in an early era Without Nazi technology we would probably have tanks that had the same performance in the Korean War We'd probably still rely on bolt-action rifles without scopes (no Assault rifles) Joseph Stalin would be replacing the line "You're worst than Hitler" with "You're worst than Stalin" The wall splitting Germany wouldn't exist making no West and East Germany in the Cold War

To everyone saying that "if you killed Hitler, a more competent leader would have taken over," once the war had already started that is probably what would happened. However, before Hitler joined and completely overhauled what would become the Nazi party, it was just an insignificant group of disgruntled men that went to a local pub to drink and talk about politics. The original purpose of that group was to have Bavaria separate itself from Germany. If Hitler had died in WWI ,or before his rise to power, much evil would have been avoided.
