In this Microsoft Teams tutorial I'll share my top tips and new Teams features in 2021. You can use these tips to improve your productivity when working with Microsoft Teams. Some of these include top new features that were recently released in Teams. For example, I'll show you how to use Power Automate from Microsoft Teams to create a card in Microsoft Planner. You can drag and drop an Outlook email attachment to your messages and share a Teams message to Outlook. I also cover useful Microsoft Teams shortcut key combinations to improve your productivity. You'll be able to use Tags to group people together and update your settings for notifications so you're not disturbed as you're working. You'll learn how to easily add Polls to Teams to get feedback from your team. This is easily done with Microsoft Forms. Another of my favorite Teams feature is the ability to pop out chat and pop out apps. This creates a separate window so you don't have to go back and forth between the different Teams tabs. Incorporate these tips and tricks into your workflow to achieve everyday tasks in less time.

1:45 The shortcuts CTRL+1, CTRL+2, etc. open the tabs *from the top down*. Since tabs can be reordered according to taste (click, hold and drag), if you have, for example, _Chat_ at the top, then _Calendar_ , CTRL+1 opens the _Chat_ tab, CTRL+2 opens the _Calendar_ tab. Since I am not a big fan of reaching for the mouse when I don't have to, your tips are really appreciated! Thank you for the insight!

Great tutorial. A tip to expand the PowerAutomate-example: Add a new step: Choose Planner and Update Task Details. - In the Task ID-field, click on "Add dynamic content" - Stay on the "Dynamic content" tab and select "Id" from the "Update task details" category. - Then for the Description-field, click on "Add dynamic content" - and scroll down to the "For a selected message"-category and select "Message content plain text" (May differ due to localities) - Then save and voila! the text from the message is copied to the description of the task. Can be edited later.

You can rearrange the icons on the side navigation bar. In which case, you need to use the corresponding position number for the keyboard shortcut. Example - If your chat is in the first position - use ctrl +1 (for chat instead of Activity)

Hi Leila I really like the way you present your videos, you make it simple, thank you I’m starting a new function, managing PMO. I’ve seen a lot of your videos about using MS Teams to manage a project. But if you have multiple projects to oversee and report upon what would be the best setup to collectively keep track of their timeline, budget expenditure, risks/issues. Eaaaasyyy now. Teams is an app you jump into through an Outlook link and that you exit as soon as the meeting ends. What one year of quarantine has taught me is that it will not replace Outlook for day-to-day correspondence and not for file-sharing. And it still does not have a convenient stand-alone contact list. It's also not interresting because it's a rushed product without an object model and VBA integration. It looks mostly like a thirdparty product.

I am really trying to like teams! Share to Outlook looks like a neat feature, only it doesn't work with meeting notes. Back to cut and paste for status updates to broader distributions.

I enjoy your videos. I cannot find a good video on teaching someone (student / participant) how to download to browser, login through calendar, and then to navigate, notifications, how to chat/ comment while in a presentation, either by chatting or thumbs up or raise had etc. Imagine an employee who never needs to use Teams, but because of distant learning needs to login for the first time for a 2 days course. A how to video on that would be so appreciated. Once they are logged in I take them through the functions, but logging in as a guest has different functions as logging in as an employee. Leila, can you create that video. There is nothing like that on KZbin!!!

How about a tip to prevent Teams from switching my status to Away when I don't feel like touching my keyboard or mouse for more than 10 seconds? I do Excel VBA code sometimes and need to watch a video to learn a new script. Then my peers think I'm gone for 20 minutes.

Glad to hear that! You should be able to delete a post in chat, unless it's been disabled by IT (there is a setting for this that Admin can control). Reply to a specific message in a chat is currently not possible on Desktop version.

Leila, hello! I am a professor who created a Team for a course and who wants to create and ADD ALL THE STUDENTS to the meeting (not one by one but) in bulk. Does Teams allow such a natural option? I do NOT want these students to be in my address book in Outlook. I created a Team with these students SPECIFICALLY for the course. I want to invite them all to a meeting all at once! What's wrong with Microsoft (MS) that it creates problems on the way of logical thinking!? I don't like MS! It is absolutely NOT user-freindly and uses a logic of its own. But I like your videos :-)

Love watching your videos and learning more about using excel. Just one question, I seem to see a lot of tutorials where when the are trying to find say total sum they just use sum(A:A). How come no one puts their data in a table format so it looks nicer in the functions (I.e. =sum([*Total])). If there’s any downsides to this way I’d like to know. Keep up the good work

Isn't the best option, but for fast questioning during class I order my sentence and asked the students to choose an emoji. Like heart for first, smile for second ... As I teach for 11-14 yo, it becomes a little bit funny too.

It takes time for people to adjust to new tools. Maybe they can pick one project they work on and switch all communications about that project to Teams. Then slowly they will realize their email becomes less cluttered and chat is more practical than email....

Already I posted a message under announcement in General channel of a Team. How to delete the wrongly posted Announcement. Because i face the problem of not able to delete it. Secondly, Attendance report is not automatically generated. Every time i have to logout and sign in again then only i can get my meet attendance. The command might be useful, but what is really bothering is localization... In Italy all commands are translated in longer text and it's less intuitive to use... E.G. "/dnd" in Italian is "/Non disturbare"

You can”t enable them. Just press and hold the [Ctrl] key and press short the [number] key and release the [Ctrl] key.
