Can you do a video on how to upload the BFD library into the module, I have been unable to accomplish that. I mean uploading a sample is easy enough but uploading and assigning all of the articulations associated with a drum sound is a massive undertaking.
@CodyBDrums4 ай бұрын
I have been considering this however, for now, the samples being uploaded onto the module have only been one shot samples with no articulations. Alesis still needs to come up with a fix for this.

1 of the major complaints I've seen is that no one has been able to actually get the BFD samples loaded into their module. Could you instruct how to do that?
@CodyBDrums4 ай бұрын
The way I did it was transfer all of the samples to an SD card and upload them to the module that way. Then edited the samples to my liking through the module. It worked for me that way.
@ArgonautDrums4 ай бұрын
@@CodyBDrumsThat's only one shot samples though right?

@@ArgonautDrums Correct. So unfortunately if you go this route its a very triggered sound. But its a method for now until Alesis releases a new update to get the full samples to the module properly.

Thanks for the very good and informative content! Do you think that the off center double paddle is an issue or is it more of a “cosmetic” thing? I really like the kit and am considering buying one but I’d rather have not too many home fixes to get it going properly.
@CodyBDrums4 ай бұрын
Like I said It just depends on the type of double pedal you have. I think the pedals I have ate pretty unique in the way where it creates an issue for me. You most likely wouldn’t have the same issue. But, just in case you do, I chose to explain a fix for others in this video. It’s definitely not a deal breaker though.

Thank you! Can you tell more about recording MIDI and multi-track audio with the kit, does it work as an audio interface with PC? Can you record MIDI from the kit directly to DAW and does it play it back thru the kit with the same nuances? And more stuff about the recording process.
@CodyBDrums4 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting, great question. So my knowledge on MIDI isn’t that great but I do know a few things. You can record MIDI directly to DAW and it WILL play back with all the same nuances. It just depends on the DAW you use on whether or not it acts like an audio interface or single track midi. The way I generally record drum covers is two xlr to my focusrite 2i2 audio interface connected to my laptop via usb. I record directly into DAW that way. Id love to use MIDI for drum covers and there are certain applications where it would be appropriate but this way it is more authentic if that makes sense. The sounds are the sounds generated when i play on the moment and my hits cant be changed. So, just for authenticity in drum covers, which is what i primarily use the kit for, I record without midi. But i have messed around with MIDI in BFD and SD3 and the possibilities seem endless.

Great Video, thanks! I just got mine last week and I'm wondering how to load the BFD Samples from my PC int othe Module. I can't find anything regarding this on the internet. Could you please explain how to do it? Thanks!
@CodyBDrumsАй бұрын
Right now it seems the only way is to download the straight sample files onto an SD card and upload them to the module with the SD card. That seems to be the only way right now until an update comes out. Otherwise you can just play through the BFD sample pack open on your computer id your module is connected directly to your computer via usb!

Great kit. I had one of the glitchy early modules had it replaced. My set up is slightly different. Added a Roland cy5 for splash and 2x pdx 6 for side toms. Plugged one in aux drum and other in the last open cynbal 4 input works just fine. I thought the extra free vst software could only be played through a pc. Did not realize the samples could be transferred. Perhaps make a video how to transfer them

Im thinking about making one since so many people have been telling me they weren’t aware of that. That sounds like a really nice setup! I haven’t done any experimenting with switching around triggers but it would be nice to have smaller sized cymbal pads for realistic splashes and stuff. Super cool, and glad it works fine! 👍🏼

@CodyBDrums Same I am not a 2 floor tom fan. I set up one of the rack's sides in the front and front to the side for floor tom & ride. This allowed me to set up 3 rack tom up front and the "splash" between the 2 crashes. I am older. With the 2 pdx6's to the HH side pretty well replicate my 80's tama superstar set up. I had original Simmons drums back then.

3:20 Quick question about the uneven pedal/bass drum; Could you raise, then secure the left bass drum leg which'll let you scoot the pedal over? Should keep it level on the floor and centered on the triggers, right? I'm new to this and I couldn't think of why that wouldn't work. Thanks!
@CodyBDrumsАй бұрын
Thanks for the input man! So I have tried this, the problem I then run into is the beaters dont both fall on the trigger pad beneath the head. The trigger pad behind the head is a rectangular shape that runs top to bottom, centered, however is only really wide enough to fit the width of two beaters on it. Then it cuts off. So if I rotated the bass drum by adjusting those legs either way, it will cause one of the beaters to slightly or fully miss the trigger. Hopefully that makes sense.

Its not terribly big but id give yourself around 7 feet width space to be safe. And thats probably just the rack system. Keep in mind the way you set your kit up things will start to offset the rack or its boundaries and become even larger width wise.

Great question, thanks for the comment. As far as im aware, not directly in the module. I know if you change a tom pad just to a splash the head will he the splash and the rim will be automatically set to a bell hit. But just the rim is dont think can be changed in the module. Did you tune the mesh head properly and tighten it all the way? Is the bass drum completely level and spikes fastened to the ground? Maybe it’s a rebound issue with your beater? You could try messing with dampening and sensitivity settings too. Maybe it’s just a little too sensitive settings wise for your current setup? Just a bunch of ideas.
