Love being one of the comments called out for Bucky haha. That being said, I didn’t have him on any teams this season and had no connection to him like it seems a lot of ppl do. Those numbers are impressive but still think it’s just some of rachaad being terrible and the oline being great. Something that could change my mind is learning what on film caused him to fall in the draft and how he addressed those concerns. I will say you’ve turned me on to him a bit where I could see myself drafting him in the first couple rounds for redraft. He reminds me of Nico Collins, someone I didn’t think much of at all but changed my mind over last offseason about him

The main reason he fell in the draft was due to a slow 40 time (and poor overall combine performance). But some guys are just different in pads, for example Kyren Williams who actually had a very similar "athleticism score" coming out of the combine and actually a slower 40 by .1 seconds.

Id say bucky is a sell high purely because he will never be this price again or that you wont be able to capitalize because of his price. Rookies like bucky that have great seasons will have their price inflated because they are new/exciting. No matter how talented a player is their price will always fluctuate due to injuries/ having bad spell of games. For an example cj stroud in 2023, super expensive for what he produced even if he does have a good season next football year he will never get back to that QB3 price.

Bucky is a little different. He's only 22 and for the first 12 weeks he was the B option in a split backfield. Even if he has a similar rushing outlook if he gets more catches or scores more tds he'll be even better.

@ every player’s value goes down at some point especially for non established players like Bucky. If he starts off next year playing poorly then his price drops and you buy him back and then you hold onto him. No matter how good bucky is his price will drop at some point next year.

Can his value fall in the scenarios you described? Yes. Is it guaranteed? Absolutely not lol. If you do think he starts off rough next year or just is bad, then go ahead and sell him, but if he goes out and gets 19ppg over the first half of next season I promise his value is going up.

I don’t think this Bucky take is going to age well. I loved the advice last year to sell CJ Stroud high last year. There’s an even stronger sell high signal with Bucky. For starters, RBs have the most brittle careers and their workload is almost always at risk. Not to mention this class is stacked. Last thing I’ll say…all those stats for Bucky are awesome but please acknowledge that he racked that up against the worst rushing defenses. I think his 6 top games were against literally the worst rushing defenses in the entire league (Carolina, NO, Dallas, NYG, Washington).

If RBs being brittle is a reason to sell the position, then sell them all, including Jahmyr Gibbs. I cant personally think of a single reason the Bucs would want to replace one of the best starting RBs in the NFL last year on a per touch basis. Especially considering the other needs of this team and the fact that they’ll have both Buck & White back in 2025. And I’m not personally in the business of discrediting players who play well based on their schedule. They don’t determine their schedule, they just have to perform and he did, to a historically good level thru 17 games 🙂

@@DynastyLandFootball just to clarify… I think RB brittleness leads to higher volatility in valuations. Universally selling RBs isn’t what I was suggesting at all. I think we can all agree that bad news or slow starts applied to some RBs vs others has a much larger impact to their value. Bucky’s downside is the worst out of the top tier RBs, if you rank him up there. He’s a higher risk “buy high” as a result. The Bucs are absolutely positioned to add weapons in the draft. Sure, it would be surprising if it was an RB (but we have been surprised). Ultimately, that offense will have different weapons next year. Bucky could suffer or benefit depending on how it shakes out, but the downside is realistic and we’ll know more in a few months. And I wasn’t suggesting we go as far as discrediting him altogether, just temper expectations because it is true that all of his RB1 finishes were against awful defenses.

Im calling it now. Bucky Irving will fall off a cliff within 2 years max. I get it Everyone likes the flash they like the way he's hard to tackle and he's elusive etc. Heat grades so low intangibles that I don't think you can overcome it. I can't think of a running back in history whose graded as low as he has that's suddenly been a ridiculous asset in Dynasty. I guess Karen Williams kind of comes close cuz he grade super low too. But I honestly think it's just cuz the Rams overuse him so it's not sustainable anyway.

This is rage bait. People who win dynasty championships don't do so by following this advice on Bucky Irving. Buying high on a low draft capital rookie RB who had a great season ON PURPOSE is one of, if not the dumbest pieces of advice I have ever seen by a dynasty content creator. It works like the stock market. You don't get a huge profit on a penny stock and then say, "Hey, I think not only will I go all in on it, but I'm going to pay more than it's worth." HAHA. Cannot wait to come back to this one later.
