THE BEST QUOTE: "Man that's deep, maybe you shouldnt mess with the Terrible Towel as an opponent" Raider George Atkinson, who never stops talking smack on the Steelers.
@AJEDDY97 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I noticed that, too. Atkinson never misses an opportunity to bash the Steelers (as one should expect from someone who so ferociously competed against the best era of Steeler football), so for *HIM* to say "Hey, maybe don't disrespect the towel"... That means something.

My number #1 Tradition: Recording any game I want to watch. Staying off social media until said time. Fast-forwarding through the 10k+ commercials so the game doesn't last four hours.

All good traditions, but here are some I propose. 1. Throwback Thursday. Wear the throwback uniforms in your Thursday night game. 2. Throwback cities. If your team has had multiple home towns, play one of your home games there in the years you have 9 home games. 3. More international games in North America. Every team has that 17th game. Play more of those at neutral sites. 4. Expand the playoffs to 16 teams. Each team gets a week off and then it’s a 4 week season to the title. Also, this would facilitate “bracket-ology” becoming part of the NFL.
@LibertarianUSA19823 жыл бұрын
My favorite tradition in the NFL is how they scam the tax payers in cities to build new stadiums for Billionaire owners for a team that will play maybe 6 or 7 home games. AMAZING tradition. .

#10: Cheerleaders are always eye candy. That and they are lovely to see. #9: To think that Star Wars inspired it. That's cool. #8: The huddles show how motivated teams are and it's awesome. #7: The skies are always the limit. They always are. #6: Disrespect that towel. Pay the price. #5: Sucks that mascots aren't as popular but I wish they bring a return someday. #4: Endzone celebrations never get old. #3: Tailgating eh? Yeah. It's pretty cool. #2: Thanksgiving Football is always a delight. You can never have one. #1: One game. One moment where everything stops just for that. It deserves the #1 spot.

@Gungho73 Жыл бұрын
You've heard of teams that win based on the first play of the game mentality, or the coin toss sets the tone. The pre game huddle absolutely is of the same ilk if you have the right leader speaking it can cause that unity coaches desire. There's great ones listed here, along with others that weren't mentioned that happened following this recording/airing like those great Seahawks defensive teams ("We all we got we all we need") and maybe the most famous of the recent modern era was baked into a Madden intro with Drew Brees and the Saints. My personal favorite I remember seeing as a fan thats specific is Seahawks under Jim Mora Matt QB Hasselbeck demands of his teammates an end to the losing streak and to use that game as impetus for a turnaround. A fiery speech from a player we don't associate with that behavior. I think they beat up the Jaguars 41-0 that game following that speech which was very unlike the Seahawks Mora era.

Hector Rodriguez I’m clear on that I live in Milwaukee and we have two groups of stupid clueless morons one that is spending their own money suing to keep Miller Park from changing its name not understanding why it’s called Miller Park and another still trying to stop funding a baseball stadium not understanding that the Tax that helped build the stadium is no longer being collected or not realizing that the building that they are picketing in front of is the one they are protesting to stop construction on. A new stadium means little though as the Bucks opened a new $500 million dollar stadium last year and rumblings are starting from ownership about upgrades. Not two full seasons in with the best player in the world on the team and we’re already hearing murmurs of discontent from Billionaires.maybe your better off with out them in the long run.
@zeefly2263 жыл бұрын
So let me get this straight. Cheerleaders and mascots made the list but the Lambeau Leap didn't??? " I think we just enhance the intensity of the game." No honey, the correct answer is cheerleaders do absolutely nothing for the game, and that is not an exaggeration, it's a straight up fact.

Okay, I - the easily triggered, long-suffering St. Louis Cardinal fan - have to inject some perspective again. Damn it! The Cardinals had the Thanksgiving Day game from 1974 through 1977. That, of course, is ignored. (Well, they did get trounced - except for one close game against the Cowboys - and ruin my holiday EVERY YEAR. . . . .!) At some point, the NFL needs to consider picking someone other than the Lions to host the Thanksgiving game because they are terrible. What is on the line in late November when the Lions play? Nothing, except maybe the first pick in the next year's draft.
