Thank you for leaving out some great rivers in the Midwest! No need to flood local rivers with people!

Been there fished them. Mostly before "the Movie". If you know, you know. Great presentation.

He Into Fly Fishing. I like the very western selection you have there. Can’t blame you for it, that’s where the best trout fishing is to be had. At least we came as far east as Arkansas and New York! Now I need to fish some of those western places that I haven’t been to yet. Thanks for the info, pictures and scenery.

Your list is interesting. I would have left the South Platte off of the list. Not because of the way that it fishes, but because of the people. It sits in between Denver and the Springs. At best it’s combat fishing. My wife and I used to take at least one trip there a year, we no longer go because of the people. I would have put the Green as #1, that’s just my opinion, because of the sheer numbers of fish. You mentioned 20” fish, they are not difficult to find. Just pick any western tailwater, it really doesn’t matter which one. I live in Wyoming. The problem here is access, the property owners own the stream bed. That makes things difficult. To me lack of access Will keep rivers off of a list like this. I do like your list.

The Delaware system actually has pretty poor public access. Lots of privately held land that is zealously protected. The fishing can be excellent but if you don’t have a boat or access to a boat your options are limited.

San Juan River, New Mexico! That’s ok, it’s heavily fished so go to the other places.😳😁.

As usual, the great fly fishing in the Eastern Sierra and Southern Sierra get completely ignored in the sport of fly fishing ! In these areas you can catch at least six kinds of trout in one day. You can’t do that in the 10 fisheries mentioned in this video. Ever heard of a Sierra Grand Slam ?

Green and SF Snake are #1 and #2 hands down ... the Missouri should be 3rd. Lamar is a nice place to fish, but (IMHO) does not out-rank some other fisheries in YNP. Bighorn should be #4 if you include the entire watershed all the way up to Dubois (i.e., the Wind River above the Wedding of the Waters). Regarding the South Platte ... great fishery ... even greater if you spend some time in the high country in some of the dozen or more tributaries teaming with brook, cutt, brown and rainbow trout. BUT... I feel the Upper Arkansas (freestone and tailwater) and the entire Rio Grande from its Colorado Headwaters through the Canyons of New Mexico are better fisheries than the South Platte. Oh ... and then there is the Colorado River watershed in Colorado which includes The Eagle, The Fryingpan and Roaring Fork Rivers. And ... just one word you failed to mention ... MISSOULA!! With the Clark Fork, Rock Creek, Bitterroot and Blackfoot so close together ... Missoula should be destination for any serious trout angler for 4+day trip. Keep the great videos coming.

WOW, all that talking and never even a mention of any rivers Iv'e fished in the Midwest. Several blue ribbon streams did not get even a mention. In my opinion, this was more of an infomercial. Note: People don't need to go out west to find great trout fishing locations. There are several rivers just an hour or two from home in the midwest. Also, the midwest has way more diverse fishing opportunity than anything 24 hours away. Sorry, not sorry to rain on you video. But from an old die hard fishing junkie, this is not a great, or accurate list.

You seem obsessed with tail-water fisheries. Tail-waters are artificial environments, in my opinion. Without the man-made dams, where would they be? Give me a natural, free flowing stream any day. Why no creeks? I've fished some of these rivers you talk about and done well, but I can also name a bunch of smaller waters (read: boat-less) that are better. I live not far from a well-known tail-water river and I catch more and bigger fish in a small creek nearer to home.
