OMG Dacob you must try the grand dame of them all, the French perfume called Jean Louis Scherrer, in Eau De Toilette. It’s super elegant, super vintage, super intense and still in production. It’s insane.

Love love love this topic. You have picked amazing perfumes, I love Lutens and Malle over all. My other faves are Madonna Truth or dare from 2012 (do not underrate it, it is a gorgeous creamy tuberose for everyday use), Mona di Orio Tubéreuse from 2011 (I absolutely recommend it, very introverted and special) and Matière première French Flower from 2022 (featuring the Grass tuberose and really representing all the facettes of the blooming tuberose fields).

So I know Tuberose rarely makes a cameo in chypre fragrances but there are two that I LOVE and need mentioning :) first from 1983 is Jacques Polges for Ungaro (you already know)... DIVA...!! (ONLY the vintage version and PREFERABLY the extrait/parfum).. Tuberose is in the TOP notes, followed by rose, ylang and of course the oakmoss and CIVET in that beautiful chypre drydown but this is one of FEW chypres with Tuberose and I LOVE IT SO MUCH... Some say this was his test run for Coco which he released one year later but I do prefer DIVA to Coco even though Coco is arguably smoother.. And then in 2018... My favorite perfume of all time... Roja Dove's Chypre Extraordinaire... A CLASSIC chypre with the addition of TUBEROSE (which he claims is what makes it extraordinary -- and I couldn't agree more!) now it's crazy expensive / overpriced and I'm not going to get into that but... It is simply one of the best perfumes I've ever smelled / worn... OK not ONE of... it's my all time favorite perfume. Please give it a try!

My FAV tuber rose asides from Fracas is Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle. Its amazingly, darker tuberose. Christopher Sheldrake, can do no wrong. My opinion anyway. Lovely scents as always.

I've been wearing Chanel No 22 in EDP, EDT and extrait and the tuberose, alongside the aldehydes and other white florals, is so beautiful! Would you recommend the eau de cologne, as well?

If you can hunt it down in a non stale state than I would get the cologne. Of course also not for a crazy high price either.

I'm curious Dacob, have you ever tried French Flower by Matiere Premiere? If so, what are your thoughts on it? I would love to hear your opinion about this one since it's incredibly close to the rawness of a tuberose presented in Carnal Flower by Dominique Ropion, even though their composition and structure are very different.

I love tuberose but it has to be with cinnamon!! I’m spicy! Alien Fusion I live for…and I wish loreal would stop ending the lives of good scents 😢 but I’m so happy you mentioned poison I’m an old gal ahem I got my first bottle in 87 @ 17. No the new isn’t as good as the old…but it’s still damn good! I have yet to meet a man who doesn’t love this ! They get stuck in your neck! Wonderful list!

I have first edition carnal flower in the travel set. I haven’t worn it in over a decade (huge collection/ADD- LOL). I think I will revisit it today. I’m sure its syrupy. And yes, ONE Spray is all you need….

Great video, as always. I still haven't smelled the new Lou Lou (have lots of vintage, though, including pure parfum). It's so interesting, your take on No 22. I have a vintage EDT (tall rectangular bottle with the black cap) and vintage pure parfum. I find No 22 to be very melancholy! I think it's beautiful, but in no way sunny or cheerful. I wonder why. Is the Les Exclusif version quite different than the vintage versions, do you think?

No22 was always advertised by Chanel as a sunny summery wedding fragrance. Previous editions had incense in them which might be making you feel more melancholy. Current edp is lighter in a way. One doesn’t sense the heft of incense.

The most beautiful tuberose fragrance for me is Whydia by Henry Jacques. Henry Jacques is a very exclusive fragrance line from France. They opened a boutique in Los Angeles a few years ago. I would highly recommend trying this line. It is next level.
