Loved this video! Yes, Chanel butchered the Les Exclusifs line when they reformulated the EDTs into EDPs 😭 My favorite was No. 18 EDT and I’m savoring my bottle and trying to hunt down backup bottles. I tried No. 18 EDP, but it’s just not the same. I completely agree with your description that the EDTs were “colder” and more “sharp” and “clear cut”. What I adore most about No. 18 EDT is its cold, bitter, crystalline quality. The EDP version is warm and fuzzy…such a shame!!! 😫

We are so in agreement Dacob with our perfume taste. I just in the past wk passed on my "beige", just wasnt a fan. Love the 22 edt and, also 1932 and 1957.. Love also layering cuir de russie with no 5. Great to see perfume videos from you, it is where your real love and heart is imo, I can tell xx

I am afraid to say that I prefer Bois des Îles in EDP over the EDT I had some ten years ago but frequently induced headaches. I do agree when you say Olivier cuts the edges in the formulas compared to daddy's work. I am a N°5 EDP addict and consider BDI like some super Number 5. My skin has an issue with Cuir de Russie even if my mind was craving for a love affair with it. And Le Lion is way more sexy in the summer on a lightly sweating skin than in the winter. But consider its first batch with respect and do not overspray it. 31 rue Cambon is the next one,with Coromandel. Not a fan of the EDT... Sorry folks. Hug from Calvi.

Cuir de Russie can go either way on the skin... even on me it does not always work... in edt... but the extrait is always perfection. I am actually wearing Lion today.... enjoying it a lot.

@@essence-tiallydacob9611 My leathers are Tabac blond (Caron), Cuir mauresque (Lutens), Knize T'en (Knize) and Molinard's Cuir & Oud magnétique. Gardénia and N°22 are absolutely impossible, I can't stand whites notes like gardénia, tuberose and sometimes orange blossom is a nightmare too.

When you didn't list Jersey as an Exclusifs extrait you liked, I called out: 'Dacob! No Jersey?!'. So happy to hear you mention it later, I love it so, never got to smell the EDT. I have extraits of Cuir de Russie and Bois des Isle, too, along with vintage No. 22 and Gardenia extraits (I have a discontinued No. 46 extrait that stays up in a box with the Gardenia and No. 22 'cause...precious! ). The only EDTs I got my hands on are Misia, Rue 31 Cambon, 1932 and Coromandel. I actually have a 6.8 0z sealed-in-the-box backup bottle of Coromandel I found several years ago for a near steal. I've gone back and forth on what I'll do when the open Coromandel is gone, I still adore it and wish I'd already purchased the extrait (is it worth it, do you think, after price jump? I know that's a slightly subjective question but I'm curious). Coromandel EDP is just ok to me - it's pretty but missing the magic of EDT. I also have Misia in EDP and Le Lion, the latter of which I can't seem to get enough of this month. Great topic!

I love Beige however I feel the name is misleading . I think of warm colors of fabrics tossed about in CoCo' apartment with a base of number 22 and cigarette smoke with very little oxygen . ---- Beige fragrance is just so pretty and I feel needs a prettier name or number -love your review Dacob

I made the mistake of buying Coromandel, but remain grateful that at least I didn't succumb to the urge to buy the larger 200 ml. bottle. The scent is very nice, but the performance is woeful. Projection and sillage are virtually nonexistent. It becomes a skin scent within minutes and is barely detectible two hours later. These designers have to stop ripping people off. For the prices they're charging, you'd think they could at least sell products that perform. It was a bit of a coin toss between Coromandel and Xerjoff's Richwood. Made the wrong choice.

I'm just curious about what happened to 1957 for you~ I noticed that a lot of the reviews I've seen for 1957 was positive at the beginning, standing at the top of may people's list. But it seemed to have been pushed back as the years passed? Maybe the magic has disappeared with time? What do you think?

Is there any EDP in the Les Exclusifs line-up that goes in the direction of Coco Mademoiselle? I like Mademoiselle, but since everyone is wearing it an alternative would be nice..

I’m afraid there is not. Coco M is heavy on the so called sweet-tchouli, a sweet rendition of patchouli. The other patchouli heavy hitters in the les exclusifs range are Coromandel 31 Rue Cambon and a bit Le Lion. But none of them have that lightness that Coco M has. You should maybe try instead COCO NOIR, which might do more the trick you are looking for. Its not a les exclsuifs fragrance but its also not worn by many. Xoxo

GARDENIA parfum is not much longer lasting than the EDP. Its a bit less pungent than the EDP and softer, less acidic. I love the EDP though and keep repurchasing it. xoxo

Hi Gina, unfortunately I do not have a tip for that. Chanel suggests buying their exclusifs cream as base for their perfumes in order to enhance the smell but in my experience that does not work for me.
