Don’t forget: Rapunzel (Shrek the third) It’s pretty shocking when she’s revealed to be in league with Charming, as he promised to make her his Queen after he kills Shrek and King Arthur and takes the throne for himself. Hickory (Trolls World Tour) Poppy trusts him to help her and Branch on their journey; only for him to turn on her and turn her over to Queen Barb for a sizable chunk of money, and allow Barb to steal Poppy’s pop music string. Creek (Trolls) It was shocking to see him ally himself with Chef to capture his fellow trolls and let them be eaten in exchange for his own survival Chelsea Van der zee (Ruby Gilman: Teensge Kraken) even if some could’ve seen it coming, it was still shocking to see that she was the evil mermaid queen Narissa. Lola (Shark Tank) Again, not to surprising, given her vain and dubious attitude, (she was attracted to Oscar via his fame and fortune) but it was still shocking that she allied herself with Don Lino to get back at Oscar; though she wanted to kill Angie to spite him for rejecting her, while Don Lino wanted his head for Frankie’s death.

While some of these villain reveals were shocking, Some of them were also not surprising depending on the characters. Because when I first saw Professor Marmalade in the Bad Guys, My first thought was "What could he have to gain from reforming the Bad Guys?" Because you know nobody tries to reform criminals simply out of the goodness of their heart. Humpty Dumpty being a villain wasn't all that surprising to me either. Because when you look at his and Puss's backstory, It makes perfect sense why Humpty would want revenge on Puss since he abandoned him and he spent 7 years in prison because of Puss. And don't get me started on Hal/Tighten, Because at this point it goes without saying that Megamind and Minion should've done a more thorough background check on Hal before trying to make him a superhero. I mean yeah him getting Metro Man's powers was an accident but still. And every time I see the part where Hal wanted to team up with Megamind and showed him those costume designs, It was a clear sign that Hal saw Megamind more as a sidekick or henchman rather than an equal supervillain.

for those who didn't see a certain trailer for HTTYD before watching the movie (which I do not fall into, so I went in with a slight notion of what the finale would be like), I imagine the reveal of the Red Death would have been fairly shocking for it's size if nothing else, yet the scene itself says so much without any expositional lines until after the escape; when it erupts out of a scarlet haze to swallow a Gronckle whole for contributing only one small fish to it's massive dinner, you can instantly tell by that, and the fact that all the other Dragons in the nest cowered away with expressions of fear, that this leviathan is the long-hidden cause of this 300 year war, and the fact that it callously eats an innocent Zippleback while trying to catch the intruders escaping it's nest solidifies the fact that it does not care in the slightest about the lives of the hundreds of Dragons it enslaves beyond how much food they can provide for it's own appetite. For this, I feel that the reveal of the Red Death deserved at least an Honourable Mention, if not an actual spot on this list

My favorite Dreamworks Villian Reveals are: Hal/Tighten (Megamind): When first watching the movie the year it came out, my first thought was when Megamind said “You can take me to jail now,” and Hal replied with “I was thinking more like the morgue. You’re dead!,” my eyes widened. Professor Marmalade (The Bad Guys): I wasn’t prepared for that reveal one bit. He was a sweet guinea pig who liked doing good. But the moment he said to Wolf, “You’re such a good boy” in the police truck after the gala, my face was full of shock. Even his sociopathic personality just had me slightly on edge. I will give Dreamworks credit: they know how to their villains well. Pixar does a good job too, but man, Dreamworks takes it a step further in the best way.

I'm assuming your list is of villainous motive reveals, and not of moments when characters were revealed to be the villain. Because, with the exceptions of Humpty Dumpty, Rameses, Marmalade and Tighten, these could all be seen coming for miles away. And if it is based on the nature of their motives as opposed to how shocking the reveal was, it should have also included Death from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The reveal that he was death personified and not just a common bounty hunter was masterfully executed, downright chilling, and ultimately made PIB:TLW one of the most intense movies, not just in Dreamworks' portfolio, but in animation history.

I felt a little miffed with how you kept saying Rameses. You kept pronouncing it "ram-sees", when it's pronounced Ram-ah-sees". They say it enough times in the movie. Heck, Moses saying it in the footage used at the beginning of his place on the list, so why didn't you say it the way the character says it?
