+Stewie Griffin Saying 9 seconds is like saying the great belgian Ernie Merckx, as in how do you get that wrong! As for Heras, come on, he has that record because of civil court action. Recall he tested positive for EPO after winning a final stage TT at something like 56kph.

Reg. #6 Full house. Jalabert did actually share a bit in that '95 Vuelta. The 12th stage from Marbella to Sierra Nevada saw the german Telekom rider Bert Dietz going for the victory on the final climb. Jalabert wanted to gain time and went solo on the last few kilometers. He reached Dietz with some 500m to go, but carefully left him alone for his victory. A true sportsman in an epic moment.

hey guys, on September 5-6 I'm going to Savanna, Georgia for the Savanna century. It's, well, a century: 100 miles. I'm the youngest rider by 7 years and I feel a little under prepared, does anyone have any tips/help? Thank you.
@williamkeys57019 жыл бұрын
+Luke Noonan To Quote Eddie Mercx, "Ride lots." But seriously, you should already be doing long rides of over 50 miles and have a metric century under your belt by now. If you have done this, the 100 mile ride shouldn't be that bad. If not, you may find the last third of the ride to be a real challenge.
@PhilippeCarphin9 жыл бұрын
+Luke Noonan keep your cadence above 90.
@Wakey5859 жыл бұрын
+Luke Noonan keep a medium gear and a steady pace, remember its a sportive, not a race >25km/h should be a good speed to maintain. eat a large breakfast, carry 2x 750ml bottles and maybe even a camelback.!

i think Indurin never won la Vuelta becuase the two other tours have more importance in the intrest of the team owner's, pluse the Vuelta come's at the end of the seasson making it very difficult to be fresh pluse the heat is a killer...
@borja2699 жыл бұрын
+DAVIDTM187 The first year the Vuelta did come at the end of the Season was in 1995, before that it was the last week of April and the first half of May. That's why they had to choose between Giro or Vuelta, and they raced Giro in 92, 93 and 94. For example, in 1973 Mercxk ended (and won) the Vuelta in May 13th...and started the Giro in May 18th (and also won it)...that year he didn't race the Tour obviously. In 1991 Indurain did rode the Vuelta, finishing in second place. And in 1996 he rode it (in Septembre already) pushed by the Team Banesto...so not being physically nor mentally prepared, he retired in 13th stage.

In future can you filter out the confirmed dopers like Jalabert from your facts? I don't believe they should be given any reward, especially as the sport is trying to regain its creditability.
