Ahh, yes, the fundamental problem with Airsoft: Children being adults and adults acting like children... I’ve found in my almost 6 years of playing Airsoft that pretty much every problem ever created on the field boils down to someone being either ignorant to a rule or just immature as hell, and to be honest it’s usually the adults doing it (the ones who should be an example for how the younger players should act). It’s honestly kind of sad when I can enjoy playing with 12 year old rental warriors at a pick up game more than running with the guys who are stanning Seal Team Six because A) most of the times they actually call their hits without arguing like a little f**king crybaby, and B) because I feel like I can actually help them grow and improve instead of getting talked down to by some jackass who’s gear cost more than my car💀😂

As a kid that came up in this game thank you im 27 going on 28 but i honestly wouldnt have went back after the first time if the field staff and a couple regulars didnt make it good i went in even at 8 knowing that my shity 75 dollar all plastic military surplus off brand m4 that was a not even fullsized acale wasnt up to par and ratger than giving me crap or acting like they didnt want me on their team wouldve turned me away and its what i expected what i found was a staff that all chipped for a gun for me they bought out one of the owners rental on the spot and i went home with what at the time for me was an unbelievable tokyo mauru mp5 and a speed charger and a xtra battery in the years that followed they found team places durring tourneys for me bought me food i was devistated the day that field closed down its now a famous nationwide haunted house i go to it just to get nostalgic these days i still remeber exactly where every piece of cover was in that wharehouse those guys taught me alot of things about being decent humans i wasnt gonna learn anyother way and if i knew how to find anyof them now id buy em all a beer one of them wwas a ex navy corpman and actualy patched up a few injuries that happened from having to mutch fun and taught me alot about line of fire and tactics ..... it was a real situation of if you see something do something and they saw a broken kid with a broken home life and became like a family to me none of them knew but i had no friends my parents were getting divorced and i would spend two days a week in food bank lines to have food at home but they sensed it forsure and made sure i had a place

I worked as a ref at Fox Airsoft for a while, and I’ve had to perform first aid because of HPC rigs being tampered with. I’ve banned people for a day because of grenades and I’ve ended games super early because of danger to people’s safety caused by cheaters. I’ve gagged so many Airsoft guns and the arguments that many people have are infuriating. And people not trusting the word of the ref is so upsetting.

It is, but FPS cap helps as well. At my field there is no bang bang rule but there is a 400 FPS cap, 350 for hpa, and no full auto. So you can shoot someone as close as you want or if you want to mercy them just barrel tap them because it counts as a melee kill

This is why I am glad my local field doesn't observe the "bang bang" rule. So long as the barrel doesn't make contact with the body you can shoot and it means a lot less confusion. From time to time if we sneak up on someone we'll just tag them out of respect and they are cool about it.

The only time I got into an actual “fight” in airsoft, was when we were assaulting this castle structure. I crawl up to the entrance and start firing, ref gives the 10 second countdown and calls the game. I sit up and brush some dust off and I hear this “hey asshole” this dude like twice my size comes up and starts saying he hit me. Like okay where? He kicks my boot, and tells me in my heel... I’m wearing leather jump Boots, they have a hard reinforced heel section. I try and explain this and the dude is not having none of it eventually I go to get up and walk away and the dude kicks me down a hill. It’s a gravel hill so it kinda hurts probably would of messed up my head if I wasn’t wearing my M1 steel pot. I get up to see two guys tackle this moron, apparently he was trying to throw a rock at me, he got banned from the field.

He told the ref and the ref didn’t believe he just said “oh he’s my friend he wouldn’t do that.” That wasn’t a good day of airsoft for my friend

The one time I tried playing airsoft had a guy like this, and instead of going to the ref everyone on the other team (and a few of his own teammates) just walked up to him at the end of the first round and full auto mag dumped him from like 5 feet away, shot him like 90 times each. Then the ref kicked out the high power gun guy and also everyone who shot him, and there were 4 people left including me so they decided that they weren't going to bother continuing, but also didn't refund my rental fee. Kinda turned me off the whole airsoft thing.
