The Gwen Stefani album made me really sad because I really loved her past solo work. L.A.M.B is one of my favorite albums to this day and Sweet Escape also had some great tracks. But that last album she put out just completely lacked personality it was so generic and immature. It was like that crappy Britney Jean album Britney put out a few years ago. Very forgettable.

I listen to mainly pop, and i agree with the 4 in the list. Tove Lo, Charlie Puth, Gwen Stefani and Meghan Trainor's albums were either generic, forgettable, overproduced, or awkward to listen to. I'm more kind to Platten though. She does serve bland, generic pop music but I can't help but like it sometimes. There's a part of me that was happy that Fight Song existed, because I was in a sad phase when i first listened to it. I don't know why but she connected with me in some way.

The Black: I'm just not a fan of the (in my opinion) clichéd lyricism, that is supposed to come off as edgy and relatable. And I thought instrumentally it was pretty lacking as well, especially for a metalcore album. Oh My My: I'd consider myself a fan of OneRepublic, but it's a shame they followed up Native - my favorite album by them - with a kind of bloated, scattershot record that tries to go in too many directions and loses its own identity. Stoney: Sorry, I just don't get the appeal behind behind these moody, sing-sang type of white-guy-with-an-acoustic-guitar rap ballads about money and hoes. All just my opinion, though

Fully agree with you on Coasts. Saw them live a year ago now supporting Don Broco (personally adore those guys, incredible live band. Check them out if you haven't already) and they sounded pretty good live and I really tired to like the album but nope. Very disappointed with GC too, especially their song with Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro, I was so excited for that. I know it was released a month ago now but I'd really love to hear what you think of the new Beach Weather EP "Chit Chat". They're an 8123 band (along with The Maine, The Technicolors, John The Ghost etc) and personally I love their whole vibe, saw them live and they were amazing. Pretty sure you haven't made a video on them so I didn't know if you've checked it out, I really recommend it.

Thrice's To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere was magnificent and was the single greatest record of the year. Add Radiohead, Beyonce, Saosin, Chevelle and Taking Back Sunday and it was a good year for music as a whole. Saosin was a shock-- I had no idea that they were going to get back together, much less with the brilliant Anthony Green, and put out their best record yet.
