Hey Jeremy, I just wanted to say, your story hit home really hard for me. Last year on Christmas Eve, my dad had a stroke and it was lucky, because my mum was around to get him to the hospital. I was visiting, but wasn't with them at the time, they were out shopping. My dad thankfully didn't have any long term affects and fast forward all this time, he can walk on his own (if a bit slower) Now I live with the both of them, because mum has essentially taken up the role of carer, whilst I take care of all of the house work and whatever needs to be done and stuff, so she doesn't burn out and get too exhausted all of the time. Things like that really suck, I hope you guys are doing okay now. Mad props for taking care of your dad and I'll always be here to support you and your channel. All but 2 of the movies on this list are sequels, prequels, or remakes of other movies, and Black Widow is a shoddy expansion on a pre-existing character as a cash grab attempt. We want new and original movies, please. Also glad your dad is doing well Jeremy! Props to you for taking care of him like a good son.

There were so many new original movies this year that just got overshadowed because they were independent. Amazing movies like C'mon C'mon, Mass, Spencer, CODA, Red Rocket, Titane and so many others that I'm sure most people haven't even heard of. PTA's new film Licorice Pizza was pulled off of some theatres to manage more screens for No way home or the new matrix film... I really hate when Disney (or any other company for that matter) tries to justify irredeemable villains (usually female ones, btw) by completely changing their essence of who they are. It feels disingenuous, cash-grabby and just morally bankrupt even for Hollywood standards. Only recent film that managed to do a subversive approach to a villain by making you feel empathy for him while STILL keeping the character as essentially a bad person was Joker.

Hey Jeremy! I’m kind of a passive viewer. I always like your vids but rarely comment on them and engage with other viewers alike, so you probably have never noticed my very few comments here and there. But I want to take time and thank you for being the content creator you are. I’m 21 years old, almost 22, and I’ve been consistently following and watching you since I was 11. In a way, and this may come off as corny, but you seem almost as if you’re family. I just don’t know any other way to put it. Whenever I was down and depressed or whatever it was, there was nothing that watching a Jeremy Jahns video couldn’t at least get my mind off of whatever was bothering me. Not only did you help me through tough times, but you also helped form my passion for film and filmmaking. If someone were to ask me “Who shaped your love and understanding for film” I’d say Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckmann. It’s crazy to think that a guy i happened to come across one day on KZbin would end up having such an important and impactful role in not only my mental state but my passions and career path. Seeing the way you would talk about each show and movie, seeing your passion and creativity shine, it exhilarated me. It made me want to be like you. I’ve recently decided to study and work towards being a writer and filmmaker. I have a burning passion for creativity and writing, and I’d love absolutely nothing more than to be able to put these stories I think of onto a screen for others to see. So I just want to say thank you Jeremy, for everything that you’ve done for me. Thank you for giving me laughs and joy, and thank you for showing me not to care what others think, and thank you for giving me passion. Down the road, years from now, whether I’m successful in my career or just a straight to TV filmmaker (yes, the bad way lol), I’ll always remember the person who got me started on this path, and I will forever be thankful. If so happens that one day I somehow win an Oscar, of any award, I’ll be sure to give thanks to the one and only Jeremy Jahns. So keep your eyes open and be on the lookout ;) So here’s to a great 2022 with great movies and TV, hopefully lol. Once again, thank you for being truly Awesometacular.
