I just really wish the CG artists didn't have to take so much of the flak. It's a beautifully animated movie. The amount of work it must have taken to get it to look so good must have been enormous. The real problem was the decision to make it a near-identical replication, without taking in to account the difference in medium.

Every time I hear someone talk crap about critics in general, I always respond that the smart thing is to find one or a few who share similar interests than you and to weigh your options on that. I listen to quite a few critics, from Stuckmann, the Schmoes, Campea...but Jahns is the critic that I find more closer to my tastes. His personality is just icing on the cake. So Jahns is usually my go-to when it comes to consideration on things. Thanks for another entertaining year, Jeremy. I met you once during a Collider meet and greet in Orlando a couple years ago, weird how someone on KZbin can brighten your day, but you did. Hope you have a kick ass 2020!

Almost all forms of cinema stem around some political ideal or hope that's explored in a more nuanced light. Some do it more straightforward but with a passion and intellect that's respectful to the audience. You sound like you'd have trouble reading an IHOP menu.

In terms of movies i can merely look at my collection and name a shitton of them that one would have to be pretty deluded and biased to see a political message. Ill name a few: Army of Darkness, the artist, the autopsy of jane doe, avengers, avengers infinity war, avengers endgame, back to the future trilogy, birdman, the boy and thr beast, the cabin in the woods, cloverfield, the dark knight, django unchained, edge of tomorrow, evil dead 1 and 2, the fly, ghostbusters, john carpenters halloween, hereditary, hot fuzz and shaun of the dead, legend of the guardians, lego movie, logan, looper, mad max fury road, mission impossible ghost protocol (rogue nation and fallout as well), the mist, the monster squad. I didnt even name all of them. Pretty fucking weird that you say almost every film has a political message when there is alot that are supposedly in the minority. Seriously im one for subtext...but seriously quit pretending that politics are the only thing films can take inspiration from. Having politics in your film can be the problem especially if its not subtext because it limits the audience that will enjoy it because you will just be preaching to the choir. Most films arent political. Hell dont even get me started on video games...i highly doubt tetris is some propaganda for communism, super mario bros is about gender issues of toxic males staying toxic males, and earthworm jim is a worm mutating into something that will take over the government. Those who say media is mostly or all political say shit like i said above, two were real examples from game journalists and one is one i made up-try to figure out which one it is. But seriously most media isnt political and there are many other things to be inspired by besides politics.
