The End of Time has its flaws but it's got some brilliant moments, brilliant dialogue and writing. What immediately comes to mind for me is the two dialogue scenes between the Doctor and Wilfred, the first one in the cafe and the second on the spaceship. The Time of the Doctor is an utter mess that hurts me inside.

10. Cold War - Perhaps the best redesign of a classic monster, butchered by a rip-off of Alien and a microwaved Ninja Turtle knock-off. That’s my only gripe with the episode. 9. Planet of the Dead - When this episode was first aired, I had a choice between this and Primeval. I chose to watch Primeval and thought that it was a great episode. And when I watched Planet of the Dead, I was glad I chose to watch Primeval. 8. Time of the Doctor - The more I think about this episode, the less I could care for it. It’s a case of quantity over quality and Stuart pretty much summed this episode up perfectly. 7. Closing Time - A waste of an episode, a waste of the Cybermen and a waste of Lynda Baron, who I also grew up with Come Outside as well as Open All Hours. 6. Curse of the Black Spot - A very dull episode to watch with an ending that’s just… stupid. 5. Victory of the Daleks - The episode is supposed to be a modern day equivalent of Power of the Daleks where the Daleks act like servants to humanity but those Paradigm Daleks just ruined it. While the design would’ve looked if it was for a higher-ranked Dalek like a Supreme, the stupid Care Bears coloured themes just made them look so toyetic. Also the Spitfire scene was a bit far-fetched. 4. Asylum of the Daleks - A classic example of a ratings trap. We were promised classic Daleks and what did we get? Amy and Rory bickering about a divorce. Between a load of Daleks trying to kill the Doctor and co or an episode of Jeremy Kyle, I’d choose the Daleks. 3. Let’s Kill Hitler - I can’t stand this episode one bit. We were promised a plot revolving around murdering Hitler and what we got was something that would make an episode of Horrible Histories discussing WW2 look better by a 1000%. River was just annoying and the whole story was just a mess. A book I read on Doctor Who described the episode as an unfunny Carry On film. Mainly Carry On England. Which is an insult to Carry On England. 2. Kill the Moon - The anti-abortion message wasn’t subtle and the ending when the Mothra monster hatched out of the moon and then suddenly a new moon just appeared made me shake my head in utter disgrace. 1. Hell Bent - Noah Antwiler put it best. BETRAYAL! BETRAYAL!

I obviously don't spend enough time in Doctor Who fandom, as I've not realised that hating "The End of Time" was a Thing. 2010: After The Doctor _let himself_ out of the Pandorica, I promised myself that I wasn't going to watch "A Christmas Carol", but I was visiting my parents and there was nothing else to do, so I broke my promise. Afterwards, and realising the depth of my mistake, I immediately put "The End of Time" on to take away the bad taste.
@alphs2673

Good list and points Stu. But I love "The End of Time". Yes, I know, it's probably congenitus, what can I do about it? Love it, love the great parts, love the bad parts. I'm not even an RTD apologist, I just don't know. I guess I like cannibalistic Master, Timothy Dalton and Bernanrd Cribbins too much. I don't know, sorry ppl!! LOVE IT! So I would put the dreadful "In The Forest of The Night" on it's place on my top 10. The rest is spot on!

Looking back, my first ever episode of Doctor Who was my mum putting on Evolution of the Daleks for me while I was ill. So, my first experience of the show was as a 7 year old who just woke up from a fever dream to watch a penis-headed monster chase a Scottish man around New York. How did I end up liking this show?

One episode I hate that doesn't appear on worst lists is Sleep No More. It's one of those episodes that tries to be 'edgy' and 'different' (the camera angles and title sequence spring to mind). It's just confusing and is trying too hard to be clever that, for me, is just tedious. Saying that, my opinion is slightly flawed because I'd fast forwarded most of the episode as I was so fed up with it, but even speeding through it, I seemed to grasp the plot.

Daleks in Manhattan had a great episode one but episode two completely mishandled it. You know the SF-horror trope of the human whose been taken over by an alien and figthts a losing battle to keep hold of his humanity - what they should have done with episode two is done the perfect reversal of that and let it play out across the enitre episode. Rather than have Sec almost immediately develop mercy they should have had him fighting it. Feeling guilt for the first time and saying "No, what's happening to me?! Must... resist... urge... to... empathize... with... victim!" and let that struggle play out for the entire episode until he becomes the hero in the last ten minutes. And none of that nonsense about the Doctor's time lord DNA making daleks nice, because we know Time Lords aren't innately nice; certainly no nicer than humans. The Master is a Time Lord, and even the Doctor was a bit of a bastard during most of Hartnell's first season. Sec doesn't put up enough of a fight against his acquired human nature.

Good list, except I disagree about End of Time. To be honest, I did sorta hate it when I first saw it because of all the obvious problems with it. But upon a second viewing two years later, for some reason I loved it. I can't quite put my finger on what changed but I just ended up finding it to be a very neat way of wrapping up all the RTD Time War stuff (until the 50th Anniversary Special 6 years later), and introduced some interesting mysteries that were mistakingly never revisited (such as the Doctor's mother). I think I just sorta liked the character dynamics most. I loved how the Master is pretty much redeemed by the end until Moffat eventually sorta turned him into another Moffat girl except evil.

5:27 Supposedly, Mark Gattiss' inspiration for this was The Power of the Daleks, though he had never seen it due to it being lost. I find that funny, because The Power of the Daleks feels like a much stronger story even in the case the Power Ranger Daleks are taken out.

The End of Time I think still had a tear-jerker of an ending. "I could have done so much more!!" I don't know, it tore at my heartstrings. Probably because I felt Ten was the Doctor with the most heart. And as a Ten/Rose shipper the fact she was the last person he visited was poignant. The regeneration was ruined by the last 30 seconds though by the complete tonal shift of Ten's tragic death with Eleven's wacky antics. Just served to drive home the thing Ten said about "another man walks away with a new face, but I'll be dead" - never did I feel that the Doctor truly dies when he regenerates as I did when Ten became Eleven.

Hell Bent.

Has anyone else ever noticed how in The End of Time; the Doctor drops out of a spaceship, falls god knows how far, smashes through a pane glass roof dome and lands flat on the floor only to rise to his feet moments later with only minor injuries. BUT Cast your minds back for a moment; In Logopolis, the 4th Doctor falls a hell of a lot smaller distance and doesn't smash through a glass dome yet is left dying and forced to regenerate? Has he become more fall damage resistant over the years? Like seriously, what the fuck.

I agree with almost 7/10 of your choices... which is pretty staggering. We have pretty similar opinions. The only ones in there I liked are as follows. Daleks In Manhattan / Evolution of Daleks. Not due to any plot points or anything. I just felt it would be natural for the perfect killing machines that are Daleks to wonder why they've been consistently failing with regards to humans and to try to parse out the problem. I also liked the pig men (very, very much) and the Dalek/Human hybrid (very, very much). Let's get real, Stu. This is a show where full grown men run around in bee costumes. The hybrid is not bad. In fact, it's delightful and just about everything I want in Doctor Who. If something as delightfully Rob Bottin-inspired as that hybrid existed in every episode, you could deep six the story and I'd be happy. Planet of the Dead. Not a particularly great episode, not a particularly bad one. Just kind of meh during a particularly good streak for RTD, so it seemed bad by comparison. Consider all the stinkers of Moffat's era, this thing looks like fucking Shakespeare. And I would have taken that cat burglar any day over Clara. The End of Time. Yep, I didn't think it was bad. I really loved Bernard Cribbins' performance and found it to be very touching. I didn't think Tennant was "whinny". And Raissilon should be evil as he's the cause of the Time War. The fact that the Time Lords got so desperate that they hatched a whole bunch of unforgivable, heinous shit... so unspeakable that The Doctor and The Master team up to send them away was unprecedented and momentous. I really couldn't care less about the long regen as it was done tastefully. Tennant's Doctor was in love with life (like Troughton) and refused to go softly. Anyway, It was better than turning Matt Smith from an old man back to a young man so 9-12 year old girls and metrosexual boys could cry properly. THAT SHIT was indulgent. *Here are some REAL stinkers*: The Hungry Earth / Cold Blood. The Time of Angels / Flesh and Stone. The Big Bang. The Curse of the Black Spot. Dark Water / Death In Heaven. These are all worse than the three choices listed above, don't you think?

Doctor Who needed a break in 2016 so Steven Moffat, Chris Chibnall and the writers could be given a chance to come up with fresh new ideas for the series. Most of the stories on DW we've had in the last couple of years are unoriginal and lack in originality. It's the same with Hollywood and the television industry.

I've actually been subscribed to your channel for over a year, but I haven't been keeping up with it like I'd like. I'm doing a little catch-up this weekend and wanted to say that I really enjoyed this video. I can't say I disagree with your choices as I believe your reasoning is well-explained and sound. I can only say that my list would include different but, in my view, equally pointless episodes. For me that includes "Fear Her" and "42", just off the top of my head. Oh, and that Gatiss episode from last season about the Sand Men. Thanks for doing what you do and keep up the good work!

Here is what I think are among the worst episodes: 1) The Lazarus Experiment = It ripped off The Fly. 2) Time of The Doctor = Not as sad and as emotional as The End of Time - Part 2. 3) The Runaway Bride = Billie Piper left too soon. 4) The Beast Below = Weird episode. 5) The Lodger = James Corden doesn't suit being a companion. 6) Night Terrors = It wasn't scary. 7) The Snowmen = I became disillusioned with the series after Karen Gillan left. 8) The Return of Dr. Mysterio = Truly one of the worst Xmas specials ever made. 9) In The Forest of the Night = Original idea, but boring episode. 10) Time Heist = Psi and Saibra were interesting characters, but they were wasted in that episode and the two characters could had been given a better story.

10) ...did anyone want this? I accuse RTD's era of being "a soap opera about the Doctor's companions" at times, but this episode (and the other one), just...when did Doctor Who stop being science fiction? I mean, I accuse Matt Smith's run of being "a fairy tale about Space Jesus" quite often, but was this episode trying to emulate the worst of RTD's run? If so...why? Also, the Cybermen are defeated by love. You've turned the scariest recurring monster in Doctor Who into a villain from a Saturday morning cartoon about teddy bears. Having said that, very few people seem to know how to do the Cybermen well. You all need to take a page out of Marc Platt's book. 9) So, I really was not impressed by this monster. Sorry, but it just looked kinda silly. Alright, very silly. As for the rest of the episode...I found there was too much buggering about with the too numerous side characters (although I did like them all...mostly) and too little actual plot. Also, the grand speech followed by the death of that awesome leader, the shocking moment that really shows how evil the villains are? Yeah, that made me laugh honestly. If Deadpool basically did the same thing, don't try to make it dramatic. 8) I liked the one-off companion...can't remember her name, but it's been a while since I've seen the episode. I remember that there was a guy in UNIT who was a big fan of the Doctor, and that there was a flying bus...that's about it. Oh, and giant flies in boiler suits. Didn't Ghost Light already do that? In fact, watch Ghost Light instead. That's a pretty good episode...sorry, what were we talking about? Planet of the what? Which one was that, um... 7) I...really don't mind the new designs. We've had colourful Daleks before. I just think that this was a badly constructed episode. It's about how the Doctor might be wrong for mistrusting the Daleks!...but why? He's right, they're evil, we've done this story so many times before, and even the episode itself eventually gives up and says "eh, fine, yeah, he was right", leading to everyone else in the story just looking like an idiot. Also, Bracewell wasn't that interesting. I do have to mention that the space battle with WWII planes vs. Dalek saucer was cool...but the planes should have had their asses kicked. Another in the long line of episodes that make popular Classic villains look pathetic. 6) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzhuh? What? Um, Bill Bailey, treegasm, annoying kids, yeah? Okay, oka-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. 5) *sigh* This one. Disappointing finale? Check. Awesome side characters wasted? Check. An amazing, intimidating, and interesting villain reduced to being boring? Twice. Rubbish last words, excessive amounts of melodrama, screwing around with canon to make a "point"? Check, check, check. Really, what was going on here? Wilf was cool, and the disc one villains, though bland and rubbish, at least had an interesting motive. But...Tennant, Simm, Dalton, Tate, Cribbins, they were wasted in this weird, nonsensical, silly, overdramatic, self-indulgent, just plain rubbish episode. I will admit, however, that I initially thought Rassilon was out of character...until I listened to Zagreus, which gives a precedent for Rassilon being an evil genocidal maniac, and I hate this Rassilon slightly less. Still don't like him much though. It also provided the insufferable fandom with one of their most overused memes, which just makes me hate it more. Seriously, this fandom can be unbelievably stupid sometimes. Just today I ranted to my best friend about how sick I am of "wibbly-wobbly" jokes. 4) Everyone in this story is an idiot. Amy and Rory spend too much time arguing about their marital problems, instead of trying not to get killed by Daleks. Idiots. Clara-sorry, Oswin, spends all her time on about soufflés and doesn't stop to think for a second about how she could have survived. Idiot. The Doctor spends more time trying to sort out Amy and Rory and sparing Oswin's feelings than actually achieving anything. Idiot. The Daleks hire their worst enemy to stop them from having to destroy a planet full of Daleks because they don't want to kill Daleks...but they blow up the planet anyway at the end. Idiots. They also apparently have this unbelievably overpowered superweapon that they can literally unleash on any planet and turn every inhabitant into a Dalek puppet, complete with weapons and eyestalks manifested from nothing...but they never use it. Idiots. Everyone involved in this story is an idiot. 3) They should have called this episode "Murphy's Law of the Doctor", because everything that could have been done wrong in the writing for this episode, was done wrong. It tried to do so much, and not much of it was necessary. Why were the Angels there? Why did Clara need a subplot about a Turkey? Why was Handles a thing (seriously, I don't get the love for Handles)? And the things it did were fairly unsatisfying. I don't really mind the way they get around the regeneration limit, but seriously, the explanation for the cracks (which had already been solved, although apparently not), for the explosion of the TARDIS, for the Silence, for Trenzalore, for the First Question (which was stupid to begin with), it was just kinda rubbish. Add in poor pacing, blatant ripoffs of other characters (seriously, people have said that Moffat can only write one female character again and again, and while I don't entirely agree, what was up with whatshername River Song clone?), and another horribly self-indulgent regeneration scene, and you have a perfect storm of WHY DOES THIS EXIST? 2) This one. This one. I, personally, consider this one to be the worst episode of Doctor Who ever, and I can, and have, ranted for hours about how much I hate it. Instead of doing it again, I will leave you with this. *Inhuman gurgling scream of limitless pain and hatred, echoing for eternity* But seriously, pointless scenes, pointless characters, more assassination of an awesome character (why does NuWho hate you Rassilon?) unearned emotions, stupid concepts, reversal of good moments, ruination of a couple of good episodes, and the potential to destroy any semblance of tension from every episode of Doctor Who ever. Because seriously, if the Doctor can just use a time scoop to save anyone he wants with absolutely no consequences, why should we be afraid of any character dying? It's not like they're in any real danger. Then Clara goes gallivanting off into the universe because isn't she just so much better than every other character ever? And the Doctor loses his memory for no reason. This episode made me realise what bugs me the most about Moffat's writing. While I'm sure it wasn't intended this way, a lot of his writing comes across as arrogant. Like he thinks he's better than every other showrunner, so his characters are more important than anyone else's characters. River Song married the Doctor and apparently met every incarnation of him (which creates storytelling problems itself, but that's irrelevant right now). Amy and Rory basically took up his entire life for several years. Clara saved him in every cliffhanger ever, and is now immortal and like the Doctor, but somehow better. Moffat loves his characters too much and licks their boots so much that it starts to feel like he doesn't respect any other companion in the 50+ year history of the show. This episode, particularly in regards to Clara, feels like a poor attempt to cram Charley Pollard's entire character arc into a single episode, but with none of the reason or emotion, only the actual events. It sucks and I hate the fact that something this awful and terrible is now part of the Doctor Who canon. Moving on! 1) I hate this one. Not as much as others on the list, but for an episode about consequences, it doesn't have any. The characters are boring, the stakes turn out to be pointless in the end, the "message" is utter rubbish, the last five minutes were good and it led into a great episode, but this episode sucked. I'd talk about it more, but I'm burned out from ranting about the previous one. I like the list though. Good points, you never fail to be entertaining, and it's fun to bitch about things we don't like. Keep being awesome!

I'm quite partial to Closing Time as a light bit of adventurous fluff with some decent character moments, so I disagree with that one. The only other big disagreement I have is Hell Bent. I'm all aboard the Hell Bent praise train. I've been meaning to get a video about why I love that story done since it came out, but in short while I completely understand thinking that it undermined all of Heaven Sent's work, I just don't see it that way, and to me it was the best possible way to conclude the Doctor and Clara's shared character arc that had been running through the past two and a half seasons. To me Hell Bent is one of those that retroactively makes other stories better, and I really wish that Moffat wasn't penning next season cause I feel like Hell Bent and Husbands of River Song were thematically the perfect more to end his run on.

+defrostedrobot77 If Moffat HAD to be in charge of series 10, the ideal scenario would be a standalone series very light on call backs or recurring characters from other seasons. I feel like because he has one more year Moffat is going to feel obligated to end his run with yet another epic metatextual thesis statement on who the Doctor is and what he means. We really don't need another deconstruction of the character when Hell Bent went so far to *re*construct him.

The thing about Hell Bent was that if you looked at it through a story and character arc standpoint by all means it failed and ruined Heaven Sent. With that said it's because of Rachel Talalay's direction and the performances of the cast that I (upon first few viewings) didn't care as it was a joy ride to watch as the Doctor tries not to accept fate and save Clara.

10. Time Of The Doctor. Basically I would watch 5 billion of these if I didn't have to watch End of Time 9. Fear Her - Come on....You out bad acted the twins from "The Twin Dilemma" girl. 8. Closing Time - I like James Corden. As a comedian. Basically you can do Comedy in Doctor Who. BUT THERE DOESN'T NEED TO BE A WHOLE EPISODE OF JUST COMEDY. 7. Planet of the Dead - Basically this episode and pretty much all of the specials except for Waters of Mars and (Cringe) End of Time weren't needed. 6. Victory Of The Daleks - Tellatubby Daleks what more do I have to say. This is also blatantly "Power of The Daleks" 's Plot. 5. Kill The Moon - STOP TRYING TO DO POLITICS SUBTLE NU-WHO. YOUR NOTE GOOD AT IT. 4. Hell Bent - This is the only series finale on my list. BUT it's not as bad as what number one is or 3 and 2. Honestly if your gonna use gallifrey USE GALLIFREY. 3. Hide - YOU FUCKING RUINED PLANET OF THE FUCKING SPIDERS YOU FUCKING CUNT. 2. Sleep No More. An Uncoherent piece of shit. If this and Hell Bent were rewritten series 9 would've been perfect for me. Basically this has no Plot. It's a cash grab and eye buggers? Really? 1. End Of Time. I FUCKING HATE THIS EPISODE WITH ALL MY HEART. I WAS GOING TO STOP WATCHING DOCTOR WHO WHEN I REMEMBERED THAT THIS WAS TEN'S AND RTD'S LAST EPISODE. THIS IS EVEN MORE UNCOHERENT THEN SLEEP NO MORE. ooh there's a question. I think I might have to make a video about how I define good and bad now cause looking at my picks for this video: I probably would watch all of these again way before watching season 11 again, though I would still call most of them worse than season 11. I suppose for my entertainment I prefer something funnybad where I can at least kind of see what its going for to the blandly functional products the show produces these days. I've kinda softened on Daleks in Manhatten since making this - replace that with Ranskoor. Shove Timeless Children between Hellbent and Kill the Moon which inches Closing Time out of the top 10. That and in terms of my emotional reaction Witchfinders was the nadir that made me feel like abandoning it. Okay y'know what 10. Victory of the Daleks 9. Doctor the widow and the wardrobe 8.Planet of the Dead 7. End of Time 6. The Witchfinders 5. The Battle of Ranskoor av Kolos 4. Time of the doctor 3. Hellbent 2. Tiemless Children 1. Kill the moon

I agree with your list in that "Kill The Moon" was a truly awful episode, obligatory Dalek episodes for every season, except Victory of the Daleks which was the only Dalek story I've ever seen that I really liked, David Tennant's last story (the ending was awful), pointless Christmas episodes for every season (If I remember correctly, Christmas was only referred to once during a William Hartnell episode in the original series). I quit watching Doctor Who after Peter Capaldi's first season because the stories were dull and uninteresting, but in truth, I began to lose interest in the show at the beginning of Matt Smith's second season. Interesting episodes where the show broke new ground were replaced with the Wacky Adventures of the Doctor, with no point to the characters or story.

Me and my friend do a New Who commentary series where we look at a list of tropes we hate about it, and we did an incredibly in depth analysis of Asylum, and we break it down into insane amounts of detail trying to figure out how it works. I mention you and MrTardis in the introduction and how the episode was so fascinatingly horrible to so many people, and how it marked a turning point in the show and people's faith in Moffat. Do check it out if you want to watch incredibly anal dissection of it in real time by two incredibly cynical Doctor Who fanatics. (Hopefully I seem more like a mad Stubag fanboy seeking validation rather than a cheap plugger, because that's what I really am. We're also going to do an episode where we watch The Lodger and Closing Time simultaneously to see if they really are the same thing.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hV7JkouHg9qIr9U

So many good points here especially with your number #1. I'm inclined to be a little bit more generous to a couple of these episodes in my honest opinion though. A few of my thoughts: 1) "Closing Time" -- I still have a ton of fun with that one. t may be completely unnecessary but I think it has enough genuinely fun moments in it with 11 that I can accept it despite its flaws. 2) "Hell Bent" -- Being a major Classic Who fan, I definitely shared your opinion on it upon first viewing. However watching it again and being one of the few people out there who actually genuinely liked Clara as a character, I can see what Moffat was trying to do.....to a degree. It does still feel like a cop out as I do think that Face the Raven and Heaven Sent are genuine masterpieces and there are much better ways of handling it than shoving off the Time Lord's return in exchange for a worse rehash BUT I can understand 12's attitude towards Gallifrey at that point, I do like what we do actually get of Gallifrey and the ending of the episode (NOT Clara flying off in the cafe, the Doctor moving on with a new start) does work and leave a clean slate for Series 10. I'm probably in the minority with my views but it's something I wanted to get out. 3) "Planet of the Dead' -- I actually never realized how boring this one was until I watched it because it was actually the first piece of brand new New Who that I watched after I got in to the show. Rose-tinted lenses and all that. Nice work on that. :-) 4) "Victory of the Daleks" -- Again.....one that I'm a bit more charitable to than most. Yeah I do see now that it was a lame attempt to bring the bad lifesaver Daleks in to the fray but I love the interactions between the Doctor and Churchill and some of 11's speeches against the Daleks. This one is more than a guilty pleasure than anything else plus it did give us the decent 'Churchill Years' Big Finish audio stories. 5) "Time of the Doctor" -- Yeah it's a mess but it's an exciting mess that brings a strong conclusion to 11's run with a regeneration that still makes me sob like a baby every time but also brings the hope and fun that 10's SHOULD'VE had. A few other stories I would've added: 1) The Idiot's Lantern -- Hate the time period, hate Ten's attitude and hairstyle, boring and predictable villain, left no impact on me whatsoever. 2) "Voyage of the Damned" -- A poor Doctor Who ripoff of "The Poseidon Adventure" with more unnecessary death on Christmas than I would like to see? Yeah sign me up for that please. 3) "Sleep No More" -- Ugh what a waste of an opportunity. I literally remember nothing about this episode other than the disgustingness of what the monsters were made of and the sandman song....literally NOTHING else. Maybe I'm biased because I don't like found footage stories but I hate found footage even more when it's done poorly. An experiment true but an experiment that blew up PAINFULLY. 4) "The Rebel Flesh" / "The Almost People" -- Had some interesting ideas but could not get attached to anyone in the story, the Double Doctors thing really wears on you after a while, and just felt like padding for the climax to lead in to 'Good Man'. Plus it's PAINFULLY dull. 5) "In the Forest of the Night" -- Hate Clara and Danny's relationship. Hate the boring environmental message. Hate the idea behind it. Hate hate hate. 6) "Love and Monsters" -- I do understand your point but.....yeah I still would've put it on mine. Really is as bad as everyone says it is. Hope this prompts some discussion. You've given me some major inspiration to write my own entry on this topic on my blog. Thanks a ton mate! :-)

This is more of a top 11, now I have a lot more favourites of new who, the rest of the episodes range from okay or entertaining, but these either disappointed me, left me with a bad taste in my mouth or infuriated me (only 1 or 2) 11) Lie of The Land - wasted time and story, fake out regeneration and disappointing end to monk trilogy 10) The Magicians Apprentice/The Witches Familiar - the second part is decent at least and Julian Bleach is always magnificent, but part one was just spectacle, stuff for the sake of it and felt rather pointless 9) The Lazarus Experiment - the Lazarus creature has not aged very well and it is not an episode I want to revisit that often 8) Curse of The Black Spot - some forced drama at times, bad acting and annoying character moments, only saved by Karen Gillan wielding a sword 7) The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People - dislikeable characters, really bad creature effects and it's not one I've warmed to over time 6) Love & Monsters - The Absorbaloff! I'm not a huge fan of Peter Kay, especially his portrayal of essentially a green Doctor Who monster version of Fat Bastard from Austin Powers 5) Asylum of The Daleks - Rory & Amy's relationship drama for no reason and the one and only time I dislike Rory & Amy as characters, the human dalek slave...people are pointless, the Dalek Parliament made no sense and just 4) Kill The Moon - heavy handed pro life message, characters that had no point to them, the moon been alive and Courtney Woods! Why did Clara's era have irritating child characters like her and Angie be the focus of an episode 3) The Wedding of River Song - disappointing conclusion to my least favourite series since 2005, I didn't want to use the word cop out but...yeah it was a bit of a copy out really. interesting ideas not given enough time and crass elements given too much time in my opinion 2) Let's Kill Hitler - 1940's setting is meaningless, "The Doctor is dying!" plotpoint is recycled again and carries so little weight, Mels is a grating character and the damage to River's character has been done, after all this build up this is who River is and is my worst of series 6 1) Hell Bent - the time lords and galifrey are pointless here, Clara's death and Heaven Sent are gutted of any meaning which annoyed me as the previous two episodes were the best of series 9, they resurrected Clara for no reason, no consequences to the space time continuum and it betrayed the character of The Doctor in a massive way just so they could have a regeneration gender swap gag. (Also where did the Doctor get that outfit from? Like before Rasilon turns up outside the barn The Doctor quick changes his costume, into a darker coat and collar less shirt, like where the hell did he get that from? From the barn? Pockets bigger on the inside? Can someone try and explain that to me it's always somethings that's bugged me in the episode that no one ever mentions!)

Probably one of my least favorite episodes during the 10th Doctor era. I could never watch this again. 8. I actually kinda like this episode. I can see why most people dislike it but there were aspects to it that I enjoyed. 7. Definitely one of the more forgettable Dalek stories in New Who. It had a good concept yet for some reason felt really boring and lifeless. 6. What even happened in this episode?! I don't even remember! 5.Oh yeah, this was way too overblown. The Master was just so laughable in the episode. 4. It's meh more than anything. Not much to say about. I think Daleks in Manhattan was way worse. 3. Again, I didn't think it was all that bad. It's better than The End of Time imo. I actually do like the regeneration scene at the end alot. It didn't feel unnecessarily overblown. It was both somber and hopeful at the same time. Cringey jokes, yeah. But not enough to completely ruin it for me. 2. Yep, this absolutely sucked and it ruined the previous two episodes that came before it. Which were both really good. Wtf Moffat. Seriously? 1.Ooooh yeaaahhhh.... this one was fucking god-awful. 100% behind you on this pick.

I can understand why people don't like Daleks in Manhattan (e.g. mr dick-face cyclops), but one of the only things that I enjoy about it is that the daleks have more varied dialogue. At least more than normally, like just shouting exterminate & other generic techno-stuff like robots. Probably is one of the less good nuwho episodes still though. Love your videos Stu, easily one of the highlights of my week... again :D My first ever comment by the way XD

My thoughts on this list 10) thought it was meh 9) agree, it was just one retarded idea after another 8) use to like it, but over time it became meh. Farscape did this plot much better. 7) thought it was meh. 6) forgettable garbage 5) It's meh when I don't think about it and mute the 10th Doctor. It's shit when I do think about it and I don't mute the 10th Doctor. 4) This is the worst Dalek story ever made. It shat on the Dalek's history with the Doctor. It made Amy and Rory relationship pointless. It also introduced the worst companion in Doctor Who. 3) eh 2) Worst episode of Doctor Who. This episode makes Fear Her look like The Caves of Androzani. 1) Kill the the moon is just awful

I still don't like the 10th doctor episode with the absorbing monster, mostly because I really liked the friendship that grew between the people looking for the Doctor. I hated the ending, everything about it.

The only other thing that can be said about Kill the Moon is that the science is so wrong that it completely broke my suspension of disbelief and it just got worse and worse throughout the episode

I'd probably have put "In the Forest of Night" on there somewhere along with the Zygon episodes. Maybe because taken as a whole with Kill the Moon Doctor who's getting into a disturbing political space without decent story telling to back it up. At least The Happiness Patrol's political leanings in the classic era were brave for being the opposite of what was popular.

I like your list but Hell Bent is the worst episode of Dr Who, EVER. Especially since it was broadcast after the best episode I've seen. It betrays Clara's sacrifice, undermines lessons learned in series one when Rose tried to save her father, it betrays a longstanding antipathy of the Doctor towards guns. Oh blah, blah, blah. It just sucked. So, personally, I would switch 1 and 2 on your list. Love your stuff.

another issue I have with victory of the daleks is that it’s hard to stomach the idea that the doctor is canonically best friends with an absolute genocidal monster like Churchill. I get that it’s a UK program and Churchill is remembered as a hero by older generations but come on.

You keep saying the Oswin twist was predictable but you didn't predict Jenna (Louise) Coleman was gonna be in the episode did ya. It's kind like the Earthshock Cyberman reveal moment for New Who.

Also I think that twist works more because If you knew she was the new companion the shock happened them If you didn't the shock happened in The Snowmen

Macleanium yah it's one of those things that still works for people who aren't gonna be aware of Moffat's Christmas statement since if they were binging or only figured the new one would show up after Amy and Rory, or only tangentially knew about Clara, you would just assume that Coleman's presence was a coincidence. but as you said with Snowmen you would realize that it was all part of the same companion in some way which is pretty neat, unless you spoil yourself on Wikipedia but even then you could still respect it.

was she on there for a particularly long time prior to the episode. I know I accidentally saw Karen Gillan's credit for Time of the Doctor prior to the episode broadcast. still give credit that something so unexpected was at least kept out of most of people's knowledge and I guess you'd have to dig really deep to find info on it.

I'm surprised how much I actually agree with this list. Although Hell bent would be far worse for me. The missed potential just makes me sad... I kind of never want to watch it again. Kill the Moon, I didn't think was quite that bad. You make some good points for sure about it, but I definitely wouldn't say it's the worst.
