I tried using Celebi Prism Star in an Aggron mill deck, but it ended up being better to use the various Durants that can mill over those two.

Jirachi Prism Star not making on the list is a crime, every aspect of that card is simply miserable. The ability has the same issue as Greedy Dice where it does nothing if Jirachi is not prized, and the attack being a delayed instant KO means it gets stopped by a simple Switch, Escape Rope, or Guzma among other outs. Cards like Solgaleo Prism Star or Darkrai Prism Star at least had roles in a deck, Jirachi Prism Star was a gamble to play that would occasionally net an extra prize but ultimately fail to find high level success due to how inconsistent it was

Mr. Mime from Detective Pikachu -> Oranguru SSH -> double prize to offset prize race unevenness was relatively common

@@clairebit A quick search on Limitless revealing the combo was only being played in Mad Party (a deck with not very many tops for the period) and no other decks before or since is not what I’d exactly call “relatively common”. TBF I stopped playing during the pandemic and before the Mad Party cards were printed, so I was coming from the previous format’s perspective where Jirachi had zero success

@@ReshiramEighteenJirachi prism star was a vital part of combo zacian, which was considered to be the best deck for some months The main issue is that jirachi was only good in the period of time after covid started but before play limitless became a thing, so it barely had any tournament representation.

I’ve seen from the italian KZbinr Icaterpie a really cool control deck that used a bunch of mono copy items, a celeby prism star and some herdiers that made you put an item from the discard pile in your hand to infinitely play missing clovers (play 4 at a time and take a prize) to win the game and it was absolutely nuts. I highly recommend to go check that out cause it’s crazy

Cyrus Prism Star was instrumental in the Dialga VStar TinaChomp 2 turn Combo Deck. 😢 Though that deck was so annoying to play against, just watching your opponent attempt the combo, and seeing if they get or it not.

I remember Latios Prism Star being played in some Garchomp budget decks. You'd Lance Prism Star and then swing for a decent amount of damage for a DCE. Sounds great on paper till you realize you're only going to hit like 100 to 150. Good enough to revenge KO single prize pokemon but just shy of anything major unfortunately

I ran a goofy Goodra deck on TCG Online that sniped the bench for 200+ damage using a Prism Star energy that gave it 4 free energy and Lance to come back and get 2 free Goodra out. Not consistent at all, but it was fun on matchmaking.

It's a pity that the only lost Zone deck at the time didn't count Prism Stars. Would've been really funny seeing how many single copies of each Prism Star would be optimal as easy Lost Zone targets. Would also be incredible targets for a Mew Prime like card if the lost zone was ever able to build on itself as a mechanic instead of being spread thing throughout 3 rotations

"Top 10 Pokémon without a release" Basically Pokémon cards that had long periods between different versions of a card. Kadabra is obviously #1, but every so often, I'll see a comment like "It's been 7 years since we last had a Magby in the tcg" and stuff like that, so list of those would neat.

Celebi Prism Star would probably be very strong in a game like the Digimon TCG. Drop that down in a deck that likes to use effects that trigger on Digivolution, possibly refunding Memory costs in the process, and you have something DEVASTATINGLY powerful. Imagine Ragnaloadmon summoned through DNA Digivolution TWICE, for instance? If it had 8 cards in its stack, that would be just about all of the opponent's Security and field gone (It trashes 1 security and one Digimon per every 4 Digivolution sources in its combined stack (As DNA Digivolving combines the sources from both component Digimon, this tends to mean it has a not-insignificant number)).
