I don't think Cream, Silver or Shadow should be on this list. Cream might have an annoying voice. But at least she's useful and cute. Silver might have debuted horribly but he's still an *ok* character. Shadow is actually a good and important character to the story. Also, whatever the "OC fanbase" chooses to do with their characters is up to them. Other people's characters shouldn't affect Shadow's reputation, although the OCs are weird...

While Silver the Hedgehog is definitely a character (especially in the late 2000s and with the exception of the Archie Comics interpretation), Shadow would have been genuinely great had it not been for his haters back in the 2000s after Sonic ‘06 (yes, I like that game… or at least Shadow & Silver’s stories and the soundtrack anyways…) that would misrepresent him as “Edgy the Hedgy” until the Meta Era where even Sega started to believe it and decided to officially make him that way from now on.

If Sonic has too many friends than so does Mario. The issue isn't how many they have, it's how they are used, and like a good 95% of Sonic's friends don't get used. Shadows resurrection wasn't the issue, is was how they redid his character that fucked him up. Shadow was fine in SA2 and even in Heroes, but after Shadow he was forever labeled as an edge lord, despite the fact that he has never acted edgy since then. Creams voice hasn't been the 4kids VA since Zero gravity, and in terms of all the characters brought in post Sonic Adventure, she is easily the least offensive. I sure as hell won't defend Big's gameplay, as that is the complete antithesis to Sonic, but in terms of being a character, he's pretty inoffensive. I'm not gonna defend Silver in 06, but as for Silver in any of his recent appearances, he's alright.

He’s supposed to be this pure-hearted but naive kid from a ruined world desperately clinging to hope for a brighter future. They conveyed this pretty well in certain places, mainly when he willingly helped Amy find who she was looking for, when he began questioning the legitimacy of what Mephiles told him, when he followed Shadow in finding the truth about the Solaris project, when he left young Elise the blue Emerald after he watched her father die, hesitated to seal away Blaze, and when he refused to give up hope after Solaris had consumed space and time (even though everyone else did). Outside of these instances, Silver kinda came off as more of a short-tempered, confrontational, cocky, close-minded thug. I think he’s been written a lot better in recent games and comics, a lot closer to the original idea. I say all this as someone whose favorite Sonic character is Silver.

Charmy, Shadow, Chip, Cream, and Silver are my favorites Charmy and Cream people forget that they are 6 years old, I guess you all hate kid characters. Charmy has improved in the future games, his new current is a lot better. Cream is awesome, innocent, and adorable why would you hate her, that's like hating a puppy. Plus she is brokenly overpowered in Sonic Advance 2. She wants to help out her friends as much as she can and cheer them on. Shadow is awesome, he was a cool anti hero, with a calm, cool, dark version of Sonic. He was at his best in Sonic Adventure 2, heroes, and Forces on personally. Not his fought the writers his solo game was written by Edgey teenagers. His 4 kids voice like to make him Dark, edgy and emotional which ruined his character. His current voice has improve a lot and added more fun to the character. Chip was my favorite, I enjoy the friendship between Chip and Sonic, I enjoyed him more in the comics. Chip is adorable and I wish he was in future Sonic games helping out the heroes. Silver, I like him, I don't like the game he came from (Sonic 06), they gave him a new back story in Sonic Rivals (most of you never played). He has a lot better in future games. Big was ok, he is not really dumb, he is just chill, I'll admit the fishing game was terrible, but he was fun to play in Heroes being overpowered power house. People forget how strong Big is. He is a chilled person who is willing help out his friends no problem. He and Froggy are good friends, it's not Big's fault that Chaos took over Froggy and Metal Sonic kidnapped him. After that Froggy stayed with Big and help Sonic's friends. Chris, well people hate kid characters in Sonic, he just a kid, and has improved at the end of the series of Sonic X. Omochao and Princess Elise...they can burn in a fire, I hate Elise she is terrible and selfish and I'm glad she is never coming back. Omochao sadly will but we can at least abuse that piece of garbage, but sadly he is more annoying that any characters, Even Charmy finds him annoying, and Charmy is only a limited kid.

Here the important reason Why i hate Princess Elise the 3rd. 1. She get's capture by Eggman 4 to 5 times in one game, Say what you want about Princess Peach, at least she get kidnapped once in each game. 2.She doesn't do anything to help out, when Sonic is in danger she acts scared and doesn't do her job as a Princess. 3. If she cries, Iblis the fire demon in her will be free and destroys the world, that is unbelievable, he has that monster inside her at the age of 6, She would of cried about her father's death and being an orphan, she has not cried for 10 years is stupid and it sounds like bad fanfictions. 4. The Human romance of a Realist girl in a real world has feelings and kiss a Cartoon blue Hedgehog, the moment she kiss a Dead Hedgehog back to like, Sonic team pissed on the whole Sonic Series and what he stood for. Sonic game career was Dead. From 2005 (Shadow's games) to 2008 (Sonic Chronicles) was the Dark Age of Sonic. It was brought back up and had hope due to Sonic Unleashed Daytime stage. 5. She would rather let the whole world die, and let everyone killed, just to be with Sonic. It made me hate her more and more. I suppose the issue is that, when Sonic did it, it wasn't as cartoony and silly... It was done as something somewhat serious... I mean, they might not have meant it to be serious, it might just have appeared that way to most people. I dunno, personally, I don't think there was anything really romantic between Sonic and Elise, let alone sexual, so I think that kiss was purely platonic anyway... But even if it wasn't, so what? Who Framed Roger Rabbit outwardly acknowledged how ridiculous/strange it was for them to be married, not only that but both of them are cartoons. Neither one of them is drawn realistically. Whereas Elise on the other hand looks like she came out of a Final Fantasy game rendered to look very human and very real and is being rescued a very cartoon looking character. The issue here isn't just that it's odd for a realistic video game character gettin' down with a cartoonish video game character, it's that the game tries to play it straight. It doesn't call out how strange it looks despite how glaringly obvious how strange it is.

Sonic fan base is alright because most of them accept if someone dislikes the series & they will agree on a lot of stuff actually being bad rather than saying everything sonic is good. They disagree with some criticisms, but rarely do I ever see anyone making anger filled arguments in response. That is more than what you can say for a lot of fan bases, including ones you're in. No one acts like sonic is the best thing to ever happen, they just like it for the parts they enjoyed. whether it be character design, specific games, certain characters or concepts in the a game. It's a nostalgic series that if you don't like, you don't like & it's whatever, pretty much.

Well on a brighter note fans of classic/2-D Sonic can rejoice that Mighty and Ray are returning as playable characters in Mania+!. Funny how one of the most complained things in the franchise is "they are too many characters" yet from what I've seen not only was there high praise for more characters, A LOT of fans were asking for classic Amy to be playable too, huh go figure... :/

The only character who I disagree with being on this list is Shadow, he is one of the coolest characters in the franchise along with Metal Sonic. True Shadow's solo game was pretty bad but that wasn't his fault, it was the idea of the folks at SEGA to resurrect him after SA2. On a side note, I was unaware that Duke Nukem's voice actor also voiced Big the Cat (probably because I didn't care) or that he is also the count down voice for these videos (which is a little more on the cool side). I do have one question though: how did Amy not make this list? She is quite possibly the biggest pain in Sonic's ass and I would love to have finished playing through Sonic Chronicles after finding out that I could finally tell her to shut up. Now I understand why Sonic refuses to date her. Who would want to? She is annoying to no ends, mostly due to her nasty temper problem.
