Though in the case for Spider-Man, he knows these are people who are going through some rough shit. He understands what it’s like to lose a lot you care about and that can make or break someone. Sometimes it’s because he was a teen that didn’t want to kill because he was just a kid and the mere idea was terrifying. But when it came to him as an adult Spider-Man, he does it because he wants to give these people a chance sometimes these villains are nothing but troublemakers, like Screwball and that one issue of Superior Spider where Otto fucks them up and Peter is panicking because he just basically crippled a bunch of d-list villains for life who weren’t really hurting anyone aside from being a nuisance.
@maellesaliou58712 жыл бұрын

@maellesaliou58712 жыл бұрын
@@ashna9225 They're afraid that once they willingly killed a villain once, they won't stop resolving their problems by killing. That's what Batman did in an alternate universe, he killed the Joker for what he did to his second Robin, and started killing all his villain, even those who had the potential for a redemption (and it's implied that Catwoman was among his victims) and that didn't sit well with the rest of the Justice league
@Tarnished-bn5gq2 жыл бұрын
Peter Parker is the living epitome of “Passivity Breeds Entropy”. He considered himself morally superior to others, which led him to see solving problems by getting rid of them as not a solution. This flaw in his character is what caused so many people, be it random innocents, or former allies, to die, or face fates far worse. Scenarios like Shed could’ve been avoided if he took the initiative to actually end problems instead of temporarily fix them.

You know, funny realization. Spider man is one of very few heroes where the "no kill policy" and "villains will target my loved ones if they know my identity" things actually make sense. In most other comics, these things have to be constantly reaffirmed by fans and the comics alike,particularly with batman, but with Spiderman its just a given that these two rules are absolutely true.
@BitrateBilly Жыл бұрын
its because peter actually has things to lose, batman is a rich dude who lives in a mansion who could easily replace anything he loses aside from his butler, his identity being revealed would just mean he permanently becomes batman and killing a villain just makes him go crazy, its not interesting at all, spiderman is just a guy who lives in an apartment with his aunt, him having his identity leaked puts what little of a life he has in jeopardy and killing people squanders the lesson his uncle taught, theres also the fact that the criminals he fights are more or less just people who steal stuff and cause mischief, whereas batman villains actively kill people, so theres less incentive to kill the villain unless they are killing innocents

@@thephoenix4093 Yeah, I do, its a stupid way of explaining why batman doesnt kill, its not wrong to have him not want to kill his enemies, but to have it be some stupid explanation that he will become a mass murdering psychopath if he even offs a single guy is really dumb, I can understand if his logic is simply just "Its not my place to kill people, the law will decide their fate", because thats what it is in the arkham games, and thats why I love those games, it even allows some of the villains to die without breaking batmans code. Spiderman's morality meanwhile is logical and simple, his entire motto that he got from his uncle is literally to use his powers for good, hes just a normal dude who is trying his best, its simple and sweet but has enough depth to it that you can tell interesting stories and even technically get away with him killing his villains like in the Tobey Maguire movies where they cause their own deaths. You dont need some super dark and deep explanation why a character doesnt kill the bad guy, just a good one.
@thephoenix4093 Жыл бұрын
@@BitrateBilly who told you that the reason he doesn't kill is that he will become a mass murderer if he'll kill? even under the red hood movie didn't go that far, for one he won't ever touch a gun to kill because of his trauma. that leaves out the most efficent way of killing someone. and then there's his parents creating the asylum. people who believed in rehabilitation no matter what, and his morality is based on theirs for obvious reasons. but what's more is actually that batman is not trying to end crime by beating up criminals, he's not that ambitious, and I personally thoguht the dark knight trillogy made it clear since it was straight up spelled out for people. the point of batman is being a symbol, imagine living in gotham city, learning that a single guy in his pijamas beat up 10 criminals on his own with his fists. would you really look at a few guy and if you'd see a criminal trying to steal a purse from a woman, would you still see the guy as a threat? perhaps not. or at least you believe in what batman repsents, which is fighting back against corruption and crime. now imagine the same guy gunning down people on the street like the punisher, even people who stole food because they're hungry, would you still see him as inspiration? even if you'd agree with the course action of killing. if batman has to resort to killing it'd signal other people its okay to kill criminals. and then people without a proper understanding of who deserves to die and who doesn't start to kill. and who is the reason? batman. that's a so greater explanation and not even that edgy compared to people who actually kill like the punisher. what else is that the joker doesn't actually break out that often, it's many seperate worlds but in canon he actually barely broke out once a year. and at some point even cured.

I never heard the stories where Peter had cancer or gave cancer because of his radiation from the spider. It tragically makes sense though. Interesting video. There are a few mistakes-or perhaps more accurately a blending of re-telling and reboots. For example, Eddie Brock as portrayed in the classic McFarlane art you show was a reporter, not a photographer. In the Sam Raimi movie he was a photographer though. All in all though, good job!

I was 12 when Kravens Last Hunt was happening, and bought every issue. It blew my mind. I had forgotten about Kraven shooting himself at the end, that's pretty heavy. The art in the storyline for #1 on the list was terrible. It reminded me a little of Frank Miller's Dark Knight stuff, but not nearly as good.

Gwen's death wasn't his fault he only tried to save her, she was either going to fall to her demise and hit the pavement or spiderman had to try and save her by catching her with his webs yes she didn't hit the floor completely but the whiplash got her to break her neck it's unfortunate but not his fault. He really did all he could to save an already marked for dead person.

I'm a Spiderman fan, probably my favorite, but honestly it sort of annoys me how everyone and every story keeps emphasizing how Spidey is always holding back, how powerful he truly is, but then he gets his ass beat all the time by villains that aren't even very strong. Surely, he could just punch a bit harder when he sees his attacks aren't doing much? I don't know, perhaps I just have an issue with comic writers or plot convenience.

I think it's because it didn't really change past events that already happened. Aunt may stayed dead and the all the conflict that happened before Dr.Strange's new spell still happened. The only thing that was changed was now no one know's who both peter parker/spider-man is. It was a bit flawed but at the same time more respectful that No way home adknowledged past events this peter caused and chose not to retcon them.

To be fair, if peter never took of the black suit, then venom wouldn't be an issue, despute all the evil alien bs, venom is actually an intelligent creature capable of complex thought and emotions, and wasn't evil by nature, had Spider-Man just understood him better and communicated rather than trying to get rid of him by force venom wouldn't have become an antagonist. Legitimately the only reason the whole evil suit thing started was because one of the new Spider-Man writers didn't like the black suit and wanted an excuse to go back to the red and blue. Spider-Man only had good stuf happen to him until that dude decided, why not make Spider-Man do shit and blame it on the living suit who is just chillin there.

@@jornaminsanders2256 that was retcon added later, which only applies to venom versions that were gained in secret wars. Any other venom has nothing to tho with that. Also the amount of time spent with wade wasn't enough to do much to venom at most it gave him a bit of a temper and made him slightly more antagonistic than he would've normally been. And like I said, this is new retcon, I'm talking about the original reason venom is even a thing.

Idk why but I kinda want this to be the way Peter dies in the mcu and then have Miles legitimately take over as the new Spiderman. Not now obviously but when his time comes then the last hunt story could make kraven such a good and terrifying villain.

In my school vr game there is a bit where goalius took on spider man during which they teamed up temporarily to fight the ultimate life form and it ended with goalius sad and carrying a grave that in it is Peter Parker and goalius with tears down his face saying good bye my friend and puts a widow lily flower on his grave and then walked off ( he was killed during the battle against the ultimate life form he was killed by noris packard a zeon ace and the mobile suit the goof custom ( thanks to pym tech every mobile suit can go into sd mode ) and when it happened goalius saw it and went into a blind rage and killed noris packard )

Wait, but what about the moment where in both the comics and the animated series where he loses Mary Kane twice? He first loses her when she is sucked into a wormhole and then loses her again after she was cloned using Hydroman’s DNA and falling apart vanishing/dying a second time (the second time being after he told her of his identity and they got married)
