This is a great reason not to rush out and buy new consoles. Besides being hard to get, not having enough games, and having outrageously marked up prices, you're breaking your back to buy a system that likely will have some issues. It's better to wait and get them cheaper (I ended up getting a PS4 with 3 Uncharted games for about $250 a year after it's original release, I didn't miss out on anything buying it a year later), with more games, and when they get a chance to fix the problems from the initial release.

A few defects of my time. Snes: Ac power adapter was a 2/3 ping that was covered by a metal jacket, yet it would come out causing the system to not allow a power adapter to insert. I went through a few snes because of this and was the 1st time i had ever used nintendo customer support. Original 3ds: The original design of the 3ds had lifted screen edges that 1. Would scratch the view screen when closed and 2. Would scratch the control hardware. Day 1 launch Xbox 1 Controller: The analog sticks for this controller had sharp edges around the analogs. When ever you pressed forward or in any direction it would grind into the analog pretty much cutting and warping the analogs and controller frame. Nintendo switch power A controllers (officially licended by nintendos approval): These 3rd party controllers that nintendo backs have a very terrible A button that will get stuck after extensive use and play (roughly a week of smash). Compared to original Game Cube controllers that still have functionality on a button.

10. This is one of the reasons why I quit playing this console alongside the randomness of the sudden home screen appearance without input & the defect of the cd failing to read. No good from anything of it's games except maybe Symphony of the Night due to Konami being fucking assholes & the Nintendo version of Bloodstained Ritual of the Night being shit. WHY IS IT SO FUCKING HARD FOR KONAMI TO PORT SOTN INTO SWITCH!? 7. I'm worried about my PS2 as I haven't touch it for too long but at a same time(As I still have Mega Man Anniversary Collection & X Collection), I did not mind since recent consoles now have Mega Man 11. 2. I FUCKING HATE THAT FUCKING DEFECT SO FUCKING MUCH! Previous Nintendo consoles do not have that kind of defect which makes this issue all the more baffling. It was one of the biggest reasons why the Switch felt inferior than past Nintendo consoles alongside the shittiness of online services, no backwards compatibility of 3DS or Wii U, no true Virtual Console feature, and inferior controller design. This is why when playing Switch, I don't play 3D games anymore. I only used the Joy Con Controllers for 2D games(Mega Man 11, Bloodstained Curse of the Moon series, & Cyber Shadow), Power-A type Gamecube Controller for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and the wired Hori-Pad Pro Controller for Metroid Dread(Which I'm hoping it does not drift after a long time). 1. On the NES, other than blowing on the cartridge, we used to tap on the left side while pressing the reset button. I had a PS1 that I had to turn upside down to work. I never got around to fixing the PS2 when it stopped reading discs so buying the 60gb PS3 (my favorite) from launch was a no-brainer considering the backwards compatibility…and yes, I got the YLOD, but only after 5 years.

Who here is old enough to remember putting folded card board above the game instead of locking it down on their NES to get it to work?

I'd say the PS4/PS5 CBOMB issue should at least get an honorable mention.

Two sets of Joycons, two cases of extremely bad drifting. Latest set was bought two months ago. Gotta buy the more expensive pro controller to avoid that inexcusable problem.
@SupeRey493 жыл бұрын
Just buy a cheap wired controller. My joycons were absolute crap and I hated to fix them. The controllers ALSO drift but the wired one I have can easily be cleaned and work again easily.

I have to say. The pro controller is great . It's so much better than that plastic joycon grip that comes with the switch. The only thing I find is annoying is that it gets greasy from hand sweat . If you do get it , I suggest trying to find a grip that goes over it .

I had my Wii U for many years and as of 2020, Wii U Gamepad started lagging in sound and screen display even while it’s up close to the console. Even my Wii Remotes sometimes have lag in sound. Either I cleaned them too good or that might be my Wii U being below 10 GB. Plus, my right analogue stick started drifting at that time. Either that was due to me playing games like Super Smash Bros. For Wii U too hard or hand sanitizer went inside of it. Also, you should’ve put the “Red Ring of Death” higher than “Joy-Con Drift”.

Man do I hate those joycon drifts! That’s why I use a pro controller

Same. The only thing I don't like about is how bad the grip gets sweaty.

@@kingofentertainment7052 I have a switch myself. It's really good. The best part of it is that the online plan I have is 20$ a year . They do have a different plan that is brand new. It's like 50 a Year.

@@kingofentertainment7052 I can give you some advice on stuff to get. I suggest a 200gb memory or higher ,. A mumba blade series case and a hard case that can fit it. You also what a carrying case to travel with the whole system as well. You also need a glass screen protector for it. You also need a extra set of joycons as well also the pro controller is great as well. When I got mine. I spent like 100 $ to get everything
@Cardlimits3 жыл бұрын
considering how expensive some controllers can be for the switch, pro controller being one of them, I imagine it would be frustrating if you need to get new joy cons.

The Joy Con drift, the disk read error, and cartridge blowing were the ones I encountered. The first two are the most annoying especially since this will lead to additional expenses.

I bought maybe 4 PS4 controllers in 2020. The drift was insane. Seeing that the Switch has this as a major issue turned me away from it, and I had no Nintendo myself since the NES.

Yes I suffered the dumb joy-con drift, and was really sad. Got myself another controller which served me well for a long time but that too started to break, now I'm on my third controller which is smaller and more compact. Nintendo really is kookie with their controllers

Seeing that Virtual Boy brings back the nausea it caused! As for the Joy Cons, they got so bad I could no longer even control the characters or camera even after two repairs. I finally had to just replace them.

Funny story. I had one of the bigger models of the PS3, while my brother had an XBOX 360. Sharing one tv, we placed both consoles next to each other. Having no prior problems with it, one day, my PS3 would not turn on. To this day, I still believe that my console was aware of me playing with the XBOX 360.

Joycon drift. Jesus. It started for me about four months after getting the console. Every set of Joycons since has had the same issue, with it just starting to happen with my newest set. I’ve heard that this problem can happen with any controller with an analog stick, however I’ve never experienced it before getting a Switch. Huge pain in the ass.
