Pernilla's celebrations for Petter winning will always, and has always, been one of the cutests moments in sporting history - for me. You can just see how proud she is of Petter. Richard Burns and McRae will both be missed. Absolute legends, and not just because they won, but them as drivers generally. It was already crazy how young they both won - and now Kalle at 22 (only just) they would both absolutely love seeing this I'm sure.

I really appreciated how many of these guys were quick to thank their team. We often forget that it's not just the two guys in the car (though co-drivers also seem to be overlooked), but the designers, engineers, mechanics, gravel/note crews and everyone down to the HR and finance personnel that makes the whole organisation work to put a competitive car on the stages. Some great memories in that clip.

As much as I like Kalle wining this season I hope it wont become another Loeb or Ogier Era where one dude is racing pretty much himself. In recent years I think 2018 was one the most exciting season for me although 2017 was pretty awesome as well 7 different winners if my memory serves me right. But yes Kalle sealed this season pretty early on no doubt about his talent.

You're right. I remember the thrilling finale in tje Rally RAC 1998 where Sainz's car broke down just 500 meters before the finish of the last stage. He later explained why he didn't try to finish being so close. They yet had to go to Cheltenham to the final checkpoint (the actual finish of the rally) before 10 pm that very same day. 160 km with a seriously damaged engine. No chance.

No, it's not. It's just that Kalle is a very rare young talent in a sport usually dominated by age & experience. (Hence most rally champions are in their late 20s or in their 30s) Mind you, Kalle himself already drive a rally car since he was 8 years old so he technically already has that experience part done than some drivers, and it's not like his opponents this season are easy either with the likes of Tanak & Neuville always giving him a run for his money with the right conditions.
