The numbers feel concistent, often they are mixed making the list completly wrong. Its not difficult, use the same kind of data for every city and get it right. Now New York inhabits over 19 million and not half of Osaka a City of about same size, thank you for geting it right.

These numbers must include the adjacent cities too. Phoenix does not have 4.7 million people. It's under 2 million. The metropolitan are has about 4.7 million.

46. Kuala Lumpur should have been mentioned as KL Klang Valley.. The population of FT Kuala Lumpur alone is actually small, probably around 2 million people.
